just so you know, this is the first time i use the app
where can you even find a zoom button? π
Oh. lol. How do I explain this.... It's not a button. What you do is take two fingers (thumb and index), pinch them together, place them in the center of the screen, and stretch them apart.
Like this
yeah that doesn't even work on my phone π
works fine on the camera app
not the SE app
Well that's a big oof. Then idk what's going on xD
Maybe the SE app isn't supposed to zoom, but my phone does it anyway, and the app doesn't like that, so it panics and hyper zooms... Or something like that. lol
i'll ask the others, if they know if the zoom is possible at all
K. Thx!
Is it normal for my Stream to freeze when I have the App in Landscape ?
But on Portrait, the stream does not freeze
It didn't freeze for me when I was recording yesterday... Maybe try clearing your cache or something?
You have in ios ?
no
πππ
So I used this app in stream for the first time yesterday, and there are a lot of areas that could use improvement.
- The video should be in mirror-mode all the time for the streamer, while normal all the time for the viewer. Additionally, if you insist on showing the same thing to both, remember the settings when changing between cameras! Right now, I start a stream on the selfie cam, viewers complain about things being reversed. I turn off mirror mode, now it is hard to compose the shot, everything is reversed. I switch to rear camera, no problems, everything is good. Go back to selfie cam, mirror mode is re-engaged!
- Use all available cameras. Many phones have multiple camera modules, my phone has 3 rear cameras and 2 front facing cameras. Let us use them!
- Remember the orientation! Why do I have to switch to landscape every single time I enter the app? That should be a one time setting (like the mirror mode.)
- Let us choose what we see and what the audience sees, and move and resize as we wish. I want the alertbox fullscreen, and I want to see it while I stream so I know what happened. I had an event while I streamed, heard a 'ding' and saw nothing. I asked the audience what happened, and they told me that it was a follow, which I found by switching tabs and looking in the event viewer.
- Get rid of the tabs. Consolidate it all on to one screen. I want to see the chat at all times, I want camera controls at all times, I want the alert box and event viewer there at all times (though the alert box should be invisible when not active.)
- Don't cover up the shooting area in the streamer's view! There's a big semi-transparent purple strip that covers up my preview image for no reason.
- Let me make the chat font bigger! It's there so I can read it, no one wants to see a closeup of my forehead as I try to read the messages.
I have many other suggestions, but I'll leave it there for now. I should mention that I have been streaming on mobile for 2 years now, so this isn't coming from someone who is new to all of this. I primarily used streamlabs, so I apologize if there is are suggestions or criticisms that can be solved outside of the mobile app that I am not aware of.
Thank you for the feedback. I will pass it along to our devs.
What is your phone module?
I have Samsung S10+ on Android 10
Thank you.
Can the StreamElements app encode video over wifi so you can load your phone's camera feed into an OBS media source? If not, where can I request this feature to be added?
@silver wigeon Check out the StreamElements ideas board: https://strms.net/ideas. You'll be able to add ideas, upvote ideas you agree with, and track their progress with email notifications. Adding and upvoting ideas also helps the staff know which ideas should be prioritized so please take some time to upvote.
@wraith socket Twitter module can be edited or disabled in the Modules section of your account.
Thank you
Is there anyway to customise the alerts for mobile? I cant seem to find it, am I just being blind ?
You get a new overlay only for mobile streams. Edit this overlay to customize your alerts.
I've done that (well, I copied my alert settings from my pc overlay to the mobile overlay) and im still getting the default alerts on preview? is that intended?
Yes. You do not see the real alerts on stream on your mobile phone. Only your stream sees the alerts.
ah, ok thanks π
If I were to add other things like recent events and Kappagen, will that only show for the stream as well ?
correct.
awesome, thanks for the help π
That is a question for Twitch.
Hola
@fathom geyser Welcome to the helpdesk! Please let us know how we can assist you today and a support volunteer or staff member will assist you as soon as they are available. Thank you for your patience.
Is Bluetooth supported on the app? I thought I was connected to my phone via airpods but it records/plays audio through my phone instead of through my pods.
Airpods? Are you using an iPhone?
Having an issue with orientation. Once I open the app and swith orientation so I can stream in normal landscape mode all the option buttons disappear. Making app unusable since even the go live button is gone. Im am using on an lgg6.
Hello everyone! I'm trying to install streamelements app on a modified galaxy s6 with lineage OS rom (Android 9), but isn't compatible.
On my main phone (Huawei P20 PRO) I can install it.
Why?
@silver wigeon are you looking to use your phoneβs camera as a video source for obs studio?
Yes. I currently use an old version of streamlabs for that. Normal IP camera apps drop frames.
both of those appear to be iOS only
@silver wigeon i was using IPWebcam on android with no problem
yep, that's the one i tried. major stuttering issues
@edgy gale Sorry for the late response, no. I am using Android.
The app should default to the conncted headphones, regardless if they are with a cable or bluetooth.
Ok, I'll try to reproduce it and report back if the error happens again.
I am new in streamElements mobile and I just wanted stream call of duty mobile can someone please help me how to stream call of duty mobile by the way my phone is Android
Our App doesn't support screencapture yet.
Wait, hang on, I was told that Screencapture is not planned?
Did I say planned? Theres no support of that.
Oh
I'm having some difficulty with alerts on the mobile app. Everything works fine but the alerts aren;t popping up at all.
The preview button works for me and I have them enabled on the audience view. I've also set custom sounds for them on the overlay in the editor on the website. The preview button just plays the default sound and not the one configured on my dashboard.
Any ideas?
@stark locust The app itself never reflects changes in the overlay. Only the stream itself will see it.
Ah I see, well that's one thing explained! Any idea why my alerts aren't working for viewers @prime tundra ?
Which alerts?
any alerts. Nothing comes up for me for some reason. Only on mobile
I had a cheer, some follows etc
They seem to work fine when I look at your mobile overlay. If it happens again, reach out while you're still live so we can look into it.
I'll try - can I ask if there's any troubleshooting I can do offline? This has been 3 streams and I#m just wary of doing any more where I can't acknowledge alert events
Do they hear it, and you don't?
No no sorry. there's nothing on either side. I get no notification and they see nothing either
I've tried toggling it on and off both on-stream and off
Try this:
Delete your mobile overlay
Log out of the app
Log back in
A new overlay should be created in your account.
Edit that one.
I'll give it a try, thanks
I'm offline but when I emulate the alert from the editor it now sends to the phone, which it didn't before. Looks like it's fixed.
Thanks @prime tundra !
Any update about my problem?
@spring monolith same OS?
can i controll my scenes from my phone with the app ?
No, the app is for IRL streaming.
is there a way to controll that from my phone
Maybe take a look at touchportal.
thnx
@stark ravine you could install touchportal?
@sleek hatch yes same os, is android 9.
I can manage to install a different rom, isn't a problem for me.
Solved installing a different rom π
Hi, is it possible to play media on mobile without having browser open?
If browser is required, what is the best way to do this - is it possible to stream and have the media requests open on same device?
maybe adding the media request widget to the mobile overlay.. have you try that?
@faint charm Please follow our community rules:

Thank you
Are there plans for this to come to iPhone?
Not currently
Is there a way to use the overlays on iPhone? For example in the streamlabs app?
SL's app blocks our overlays.
Ok, so currently there is no way to stream with my se stuff on iPhone?
If there is another streaming app that supports browser links then sure, other than that - no
Ok, do you know of any other apps? What about twitchβs mobile app?
Ok, thank you. Any idea if an iOS app is in the works?
i use IRL backpack cloud server to stream with streamlabs app and I use stream elements overlay on cloud obs server
the notifications and media from stream elements appear on screen fine
is there any way to get the audio to my phone?
audio or notifications?
the issue I have is that the overlay is not visible within the streamlabs app cause its blocked, hence the overlay is displayed on screen via cloud obs server
i'm looking for a way to still get the notifications on my mobile which are displayed on screen
Then I can't give any ideas in this regard. I assume you have an iPhone?
no andorid
if on Android, then you can use our app.
but streamelements does not support custom rtmp right
oh you mean to say, stream with streamlabs app, but have streamelements app open for widgets?
I just discovered companion mode π
sorry i was distracted with something just now
i was gonna suggest companion mode - this allows the app to make sound for you
when someone does something
and you can see the activity feed and chat at the same time
so you don't really need to stream from the app
if you stream via a backpack, right?
I use my phone to stream to the irl backpack cloud server, it has an RTMP ingest the server so i use custom RTMP
right now i use this flow:
- Start streamelements in companion mode, background mode on
- start streamlabs app and start streaming
- The cloud OBS is configured with stream elements layout
this seems to get the notification sounds (TTS) and media through my speaker
yes!
How long can the StreamElements app run in companion mode in the background? Is there a timelimit?
no timelimits
and it takes very little battery in companion mode, so you're in for a long time π
@urban violet ^
@covert quarry β€οΈ works like a charm
Hey guys. How do I set up a command in chat to display my social media websites? Thanks
You can create custom commands at https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot-commands/custom-commands
You don't need one.
Do i set it up as a new command?
Yes.
Ok thanks
Still struggling. I have set up the command to view my social sites addresses but they aren't links in chat. Is it possible to make them a link so views can click on them?
Go to the Chat Settings and Enable the "Make links clickable" option.
Thanks. Can I do this from the mobile app?
No, only from desktop
Ahhh right ok. Thank you π
π
Hey there. Trying to set up my command to enable me to post from my mobile my social websites. Is this the button I need to have enabled through my desktop account? Many thanks
haha my goodness
alright first things first, use snipping tool it'll save you so much trouble
windows key + shift + s
are you trying to enable links in chat so you can post them?
as the broadcaster you can always post links
Yes mate. But when I set up the command to display my social media websites in chat they are not displaying as a link πͺ
Sorry dont have discord on my PC hence the rubbish photo hahaha
so your social media comes up as websites without hyperlink in chat?
that's weird it should be automatic
I typed the links in my command menu but when displayed users cant click on them to go to social media. Maybe I have the URL wrong
So I thought I needed to enable links from desktop
if you can try and take a screencap of your social media in chat
Ok I'll try
Sorry for giving you a headache hahaha. Was up till 4 this morning trying to work this out
LOL no worries glad we got it sorted
The capital I?
one of those things that slips through the cracks
no

You my friend are a legend!!

because you wanted it so much π
no worries wilko have a good weekend
Awesome looks brilliant. Exactly what I wanted. I've only been doing this for 3 weeks. Everyday I'm learning!! Thank you

I believe there should be a pencil icon if I remember correctly to edit the Overlay. I don't have an Android myself but double checking to be sure.
AHH brb
That's what I was thinking. I have no way to check so looking at notes if anyone had the same question.
As it may have to be done through the website first.
I have created a overlay but can't find anyway to change it would like a ticket and stuff too
Stream labs just fails to work lol
Oww crap now the preview button is stuck on my screen even when app is closed lol
Tbh lads even if the default alertbox works that's great does it alert for followers and stuff too?
yes, it should do that by default afaik
AHH that's alright then I have been trying everything on stream labs and I can't get it to work it will play the alertbox sound but no image or text
I think this app will do great once you add adding widgets and stuff tbh seems sleek
@pine rampart and the trick "im dunno how to put my links " to give self promotion .. a classic
Any news about an iOS App?
Currently not planned.
Damn okay
I am also waiting for ios app
Same
I would pay for it haha
If streaming on mobile is something you really want to pursue, your best bet would be to get a midrange android phone
And use that as a dedicated streaming device
Only like apple
Hello can someone tell me if we can stream what's going on our phone with streamelements
The app is only for IRL stream atm.
Thanks
Is their any information when the app will come out on IOS and stream games?
We generally do not share our roadmap.
Okay I asked this almost a year ago I believe or somewhere near that so I thought Iβd ask again
Do you want to stream mobile games?
If so use nox and do it from your pc if that's viable
or GameLoop or Bluestack ...
what about in mobile?
what about in mobile what? hehe
Can the have a Smooth Camera Experience please? Its a little laggy and I have a strong Android Device
What bitrate are you streaming at?
2000
see if you can push that up a bit
2000 is pretty low
4000 is a better bit rate if you can maintain it
But will it make my Camera FPS Smooth is the Question?
Right now, its choppy and laggy all over the place
Nope, still choppy
I am using a Huawei P Smart and I mainly use the Front Camera
But the back does 30FPS as well. On an app like Prism Live Studio, it shows that my camera is very smooth
the back camera can go up to 60fps
probs has its reasons
Hmm stream looked great on my phone but when I checked the VoD is looked crazy audio was good. But video was like all greyish and few pixels up top doing idk what. Any ideas?
the stream you see on your phone will always be whatever the camera is capturing
as opposed to what the viewers/stream is seeing if that makes sense
can you provide a link to the vod?
@plucky willow what the hell
im going through your last stream right now
when i'm scrolling through the vod everything looks fine
but the vod itself is bugged out like crazy
@wild bolt wild right
Might be on twitch end? I had one regular stop by wanna ask him what he saw. Think he would have said something
Hmm any ideas? @wild bolt
Legit completely stumped
I'm not sure if it's on our end or on Twitch's
Let me reach out to our mobile guys and get back to you
@wild bolt thanks babes.
ive just switched from streamlabs to streamelements and i now have blackbars on mobile streaming to twitch and on streamlabs it was streched any ideas?
May I ask a question? How heavy is the Android App on a mobile phone?
18MB
I am talking about CPU wise
i know.. im trying to be funny XD
Depends on the phone, the age and a lot more
Yes
It shouldn't be an issue using our app
Ahhh ok. Thank you
ive just switched from streamlabs to streamelements and i now have blackbars on mobile streaming to twitch and on streamlabs it was streched any ideas?
Make sure you unlock the orientation of the phone it self, so that when the camera is being used
its rotated properly
@urban violet aye in here dre
@wild bolt yo
Alright thanks
I've made an overlay and everything. For some reason when I stream on the Sony as 300. No alerts pop up in stream elements
Are you using our app?
I have it downloaded
I can use the app when I go live again in an hour and test it again
So when you login to the app
a special overlay is created on your account
that you need to edit
as the app uses that overlay
Thats the companion mode
Wow lol makes a big difference
So would I need to use a custom rtmp server as I'm not using my phone to stream?
Is that what everyone uses to stream on there action camera?
Thanks for the help btw
Auto stickers lol
Ya I'm using gunrun
I have an overlay on stream elements already. I just want that to work
I believe the best way to use a gunrun is to use our companion mode
and have the gunrun load the overlay
There should be a place in the gunrun settings where you can place the overlay link
i believe so
Tbh I don't know how gunruns work
No worries I'll keep trying to work it out
i'm just assuming at this point, because I remember i helped someone's mobile stream get the proper overlay size, while attending TwitchCon EU Berlin
but via our app, you can add an RTMP server if need be
but it will use to stream with its special overlay called "mobile"
Roger that
Not sure what is the reason for it, but these days 720p is really pixelated
Any ideas? Also setting max bitrate doesn't really do anything
Other app works fine
Having your bitrate set high does not mena it is at that value.
If your interent cannt handle, say, 5000 bitrate, it will run at whatever value it can handle.
I meant that by setting 3500 as max bitrate, it still shows as going way over it. But picture is still pixelated
This, I think, happened after android 10 update
Try 5000 bit rate instead
Even if the area supports only 3500 if that?
every time I go live, the stream video flickers in green, any idea why?
Which platform are you streaming to?
Hey does anyone know why my mobile rode mic will not be used by the app? It's working with WhatsApp (checked tho I can guarantee it's not broken) but since I launch the stream with the app the inbuilt mic is used. That sucks :(
@wild jay hey mate, I don't think there's an option to change the audio input option on the mobile app sadly
so it'll default to the inbuild mic
what about mobile app on ios?
@fair star there isn't one atm and to my understanding plans either.
However this

@fair star I stand corrected. Planned but no ETA.
Ran a little test stream today on the mobile app and have a few questions: (1) What does the little S in the circle mean in the info bar? (2) I had my bitrate set to 4000kbps yet the info bar showed it at around 12000kbps, does it cap and broadcast at 4000kbps and simply show me the max possible bitrate? (3) Is the show/hide viewer count option buggy? It didn't seem to actually do anything by toggling it on/off.
Thanks in advance!
@radiant sierra
- The S is a limited feature only provided to particular users, mainly DreamTeam members.
2 & 3. I'd have to check on that and get back to you.
@radiant sierra One thing though, Twitch or YouTube?
@prime tundra Twitch
Is there any staff active

What is your question @sage robin?
@wild jay please keep this channel for support questions only, ideas automatically appear for everyone to see in the #ποΈ±feedback-and-ideas channel
Ah i didn't know. Thanks!
No worries!
Hey all, I'm relatively new to the streamelements app (new as in I downloaded it today) and am looking for some help setting things up like my alerts and an overlay.
If someone is able to point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Once you connect your account in the app, an overlay is created for you in your account on the site. All the edits there will be visible on stream, but not visible in the app.
@prime tundra so what you're saying is that I can edit the overlay from the website?
Correct. π
@prime tundra Cheers mate, appreciate it!
@prime tundra any word on the bitrate/viewer count?
@radiant sierra What is this about?
@edgy gale from a bit above:
(2) I had my bitrate set to 4000kbps yet the info bar showed it at around 12000kbps, does it cap and broadcast at 4000kbps and simply show me the max possible bitrate? (3) Is the show/hide viewer count option buggy? It didn't seem to actually do anything by toggling it on/off.
What is your phone model?
Pixel 3a, Android 10
Tested on a Nokia 6.1 (Android 10) as well and the bitrate limiting feature seems to be okay. Set it to 1000 and it's hovering around 1500 during broadcast. Viewer toggle also seems to be working fine! Might just be an issue with my Pixel 3a.
interesting
I'm still waiting on info about the above but will provide this bit as well
Is there a way to have song request playing while on the mobile app?
You can add the MediaRequest widget to your mobile overlay.
How would I skip songs if someone plays something?
For the best experience, you'll likely want a moderator with manager access to your account controlling media request while you stream.
Does the Android app have text to speech when running in companion mode? I thought there was a setting for it but can't find it.
Text to speech is a setting for the alertbox. There's no option for the entire chat.
@prime tundra thanks. where's that setting for the alert box
When it will come in ios π
not planned and no ETA
Hi all, how do i disable the auto detecting if twitch is getting a signal. I'm streaming to a custom RTMP server and it stops stream on my phone because it's not detecting anything. If i can't disable it this detection should be disabled when using custom RTMP
it's impossible to test stability off-stream to the RTMP server at certain bitrates when the app stop itself
Good morning
StreamElements app will not close for me in Companion mode it always stays in Android notifications have to end task.
So anyone know why logging in with youtube in the app doesn't work right?
i will ask internally for you
ok thank you
@nova wadi Sorry to keep bugging you but any updates?
unfortunately not π¦ probably because a lot of staff has weekends on friday and saturday
@marsh maple let me guess you see the unauthorized app screen correct?
@night needle well isnt that how you close down other apps aswell? From the task killer?
@outer summit i will ask about this
@edgy gale I do not
So what is the issue?
@`
@edgy gale this is the error
in secure browser
Seems to be using an old login method
Thats the same issue i was referring to
although worded differently
its a known issue
Alright, @edgy gale thanks, do you know an eta till it's fixed?
thx @edgy gale because it's really frustrating that it cuts off on RTMP because it doesn't detect feed on twitch, doesn't really make any sense in my head xD
@edgy gale Only if It needs to be forced closed. Usually I hit the back button on android then the app asked if I want to Exit Y/N
You should be able to hit the big red button in the middle to start a stream after you logged in with your account.
Also be aware there is no screen recording and there is no iOS app.
K
oops wrong section
@night needle The companion mode, afaik, is meant to be used at all times, even when its not the focus app, meaning that if you are looking at a map for example and an alert plays, it should play the sound of it while in the background. So using the task manager to kill it is the way to go.
@marsh maple no ETA
@outer summit So I checked with the devs - we can't support that case unfortunately.
@edgy gale so you can't just disable the check in the app when using RTMP? Why, as a dev myself (no mobile apps) this sounds off, sry to say. Just disable the check when in rtmp mode, i don't see the issue here?
As person who worked as a dev(not mobile as well), I can say that it might not be that simple.
Just saying that if your competitor SL can do it, it seems very wierd that you can't π
@edgy gale OK thank you.
who help^my
Hello Ruben
i can try, and if i don't know the answer i can ask internally about it π
Hello, Iβm wondering if there is a discord bot in streamelements or if it is an integration
Iβm a mobile user and cant use OBS because itβs unable to download
@urban violet There is no Discord bot at this time.
@prime tundra is it just an integration
There is no Discord integration, either.
Okay thank you for your help @prime tundra
Do you see them as ***?
Yeah thatβs exactly it
You need to go to your channel moderation settings and disable the "block hyperlinks" options
Is that through twitch or SE
Twitch
Okay thank you very much @edgy gale

Hello everyone, I'm in need of Streamelements mobile. But keep getting the message that it couldnt sign me in.
Does it give an unauthorized app thing or something else?
How do i stream games from mobile
@hardy hull its not possible atm, the mobile app is for IRL streaming only
Thank you @crystal smelt
no worries, you can share your idea here tho

In Android, tapping the link https://StreamElements.com/bitbitbitbit/store from Twitch opens a webview with no items. When I open the link in Chrome the items show up
Hello? Need help please
@pure prawn We cannot provide support for Twitch's mobile app because we're not Twitch. You'll need to reach out to them regarding the issue.
This is a matter of the limitations of their in-app browser.
So that means that the store was created with the PC in mind and mobile was not considered?
That means Twitch's in-app browser isn't a fully functional browser that can load all pages properly. Were you to open it in a normal mobile browser, it'd be fine.
Hi everyone, had a question regarding video quality. One of my VODs for a new project turned out heavily artifacted and strange looking and i wanted to ask if there was anything known about this. I scrolled up and saw a similar issue asked on the 18th of January.

I'm new to using this and I was wondering how we stream what's on a ps4 to the stream elements on my phone or if that's even possible? Lol
@urban violet Here is a guide on how to setup the most essential tools for streaming from your console, while using StreamElements tools without involving a Capture Card! It's easy to do, take 4 minutes to read and 10 to 15 minutes to setup!
Read all about it here: https://blog.streamelements.com/how-to-stream-on-console-7b620b1c46c3
How to use on cell phone?
@urban violet the SE app is design for IRL stream atm
I stream on my ps4 but I didnt know if there was a way to get the app to work with my playstation @fallow flume
What exactly are you trying to do? cause in the link that the bot provides give you the steps to stream directly from the ps4 no need the cellphone at all π
Stream elements have a app on ios ? im trying to found out for a friend and if ya what the link ?
No iOS app.
what app good for android?
@random mantle please check channel topic
Any help regarding my video quality issues?
Im not entirely certain but... Is the mobile variant made to screen capture and stream that?
Cant seem to figure it out. Unfortunately new to this
No - the mobile app is not meant to capture the screen.
Okay. Thanks
@edgy gale is anybody available to take my question
I'll do my best here, what's up?
@urban violet i have an above mentioned question, ill post it again
Hi everyone, had a question regarding video quality. One of my VODs for a new project turned out heavily artifacted and strange looking and i wanted to ask if there was anything known about this. I scrolled up and saw a similar issue asked on the 18th of January.

Hi, is it possible to be able to use SE overlays from mobile or is it all on pc
@urban violet when you use the SE app mobile on your overlays you will see a new overlay : PURPLE WAVE STATIC ALERTS you can edit that overlay
Is there an app on iOS
No iOS app
Do you know where I can find the app @fallow flume thanks
Sir, Renziito said there is NO iOS app
@urban violet is on the Google Play Store, remember just for Android, there is no iOS app

When you're using our mobile IRL app, the overlay is automatically created in your account and applied when streaming from the app. The overlay can be edited from the site.
Hmmm ok do I have to have the obs on a computer for this to work
No.
OBS is for streaming from your computer, has nothing to do with streaming IRL from your phone.
Well I must be doing something wrong it's not showing up when I stream from the app
To be clear, you're streaming from the StreamElements Live app?
Yes
The overlays I created using the streamelements website for some reason I don't show up. When I seen from here. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
To reiterate: When you use the app, it makes its own overlay. It will not just use any overlay you make.
You must edit the overlay it made.
Is it something that's invisible? When you re-watch it. Like that stays on the screen the entire time.
The only part that I see when I re-watch the stream is when I get an alert
Or is there a video on how to did the mobile overlay?
Ok I sorry I found it. Thanks
Will song requests and media share work via the mobile app in companion mode? I don't wanna test live so wanted to check here first.
I assume its again for pinktoe?
Naw, Ppim this time.
do you have an adroid phone?
She does, running Streamelements in companion mode for chat with a Galaxy A71.
I take is as a no then
Streamselements in OBS server via S10+
I asked if you have an android phone
π
so let me explain
when you install and login to the app
an overlay is made in your account for mobile alerts
make sure you add the media request widget to the overlay
Yes!
then save
the app loads it automagically even in companion mode
the only issue here is, that the 'show on stream' button needs to be enabled from the media request
meaning that from the streamer's PC OR via the browser on the phone
the button needs to be tapped in order for both the streamer and the viewers to potentially hear the songs
by default the mobile app will not render any onscreen video
so it should produce sound for when in companion mode
Perfect, I'm going to try via my phone and see how it works.
π
Hey, is something up with the Streamelements App? for Android that is?
I am moderator on a twitch channel, and when he tries to go live from the mobile it's sound but we can't see the cam
oh
Maybe
That explains why the cam just suddenly stopped working during a stream

could have been a miss click by the streamer
iguess
i was'nt around when it happend
Considering you get that warning as it shows little hard for them to miss it.
Yeah, iguess
as i said, i have no idea if this is the solution, considering that we reinstalled the App
still waiting for a response regarding the video quality issue
I've used your Mobile app on android with my Realme 5 phone and I've almost managed to break my stream multiple times because of button placement being too chunked up together. Please look at this feedback and see if its possible to update the ui.
spacing, the issue is spacing
you can accidentally hammer the wrong buttons and break your livestream witht eh big red button
I see the issue in your screenshot and I've passed it to our devs
I'm asking the other person to elaborate on their issue.
Please check the pings.
sorry

Is there any way to get access to this? Been hoping to not deal with the only legitimate streaming app (StreamLabs) for such a long time now.
access to what?
@haughty obsidian check channel topic for link on the google play
iOS?
No
π¦
No plans currently for iOS mobile app.
@urban violet directed me to ask where the toggle option for the Smart Stream option is in the Android app. I see the bubble indicating if it is on or off but no option to select
To bring the iOS topic up: I recommend to do a survey with current SE users, because I think the majority of streamers who are interested in IRL streaming have an iOS-based device. If an own app is not planned, maybe cooperate with Twitch, to "inject" the alert- and dashboard-part into the existing Twitch-App.
@urban violet Check out the StreamElements ideas board: https://strms.net/ideas. You'll be able to add ideas, upvote ideas you agree with, and track their progress with email notifications. Adding and upvoting ideas also helps the staff know which ideas should be prioritized so please take some time to upvote.
I usually use the app in companion mode to accompany my IRL backpack setup with Live U. I recently started using my phone to stream in certain situations (e.g. in water prone situations where having a waterproof phone is ideal or in dark environements where phones tend to perform better than the sony cam). I use Larix broadcaster becaus it was th highest rated app but another IRL streamer said she could, and did use StreamLabs instead.
Out of curiosity I switched off companion mode on the Stream Elements App and discovered the app has a stream to custom rtmp server option which is great because then I have one phone to do chat AND stream whereas at the moment with Larix I need one phone to stream and one to read chat.
However despite playing with all the settings (resolution, fps, bitrate) I find that the stream can't get over ~200kbps and therefore cannot actually stream. A speed test of my phone shows 5~8Mbps upload and downloads and streaming from Larix Broadcaster on the same phone yields no issues. It seems to be a problem in the Stream Elements app itself? My phone is set to allow unrestricted data use for the app. No power saving options on etc. I'm using Galaxy Note 9 at the moment for reference. Any ideas?
I have a question about one of the commands. Not really sure about were to ask it.
@west remnant Welcome to the helpdesk! Please let us know how we can assist you today and a support volunteer or staff member will assist you as soon as they are available. Thank you for your patience.
I would like to know the current code to make for the command followage the one I have is not working right. It's not an accurate answer or response when it is asked for people that use it in my chat it gives the same answer for everyone and I know it's not right. I need to know how or try to match it to see what I need to change please?
You created a custom command that does not look up anything, just spits out "1 year 5 months 27 days 1 hour."
Disable it and use the default command instead, which you've renamed to !following
Your !followingonline and !followingoffline commands appear to be set up correctly.
But those are watchtime, not follow age.
Ok thanks I'll try that
Oh then sorry
hit enter too soon ;p
Thank you
@urban violet directed me to ask where the toggle option for the Smart Stream option is in the Android app. I see the bubble indicating if it is on or off but no option to select. still waiting on updates on this
Hello! I am wondering if the internet connection of a Galaxy S10 being low (about 6mbps up/down) can lead to the overlay failing to load when streaming and then failing to appear consistently until a reinstall. Secondly, if this is true, would a cache clear help the overlay show back up? Thank you in advance!
@autumn badge cache and data clear on the app would help
@past grove smart stream is a reserved feature for dreamteam members due to how much limited slots we have for it
thanks keizar
Good morning β
As of now, the app switches between the 2 ordinary cameras. With a phone able to use multiple cameras on the back [e.g wide angle] - is it possible to use them somehow in the app?
I believe that we are in the talks about multi camera phones currently, so no ETAs
Thanks for the speedy response!
^being helped in Twitch helpdesk
Heyhey π are there plans to have camera orientation options between fixed and dynamic?
If you don't lock the orientation via the app, its going to use the phone's orientation
There's only one option I see in the app which is manually switching between profile and landscape and having the camera lock in. My phone is set to switch orientation based on how the phone is held.
Right, I forgot that the orientation is dependent on the option from the app.
Afaik, no plans currently to change that.
Hello I'm having problems setting up my first mobile overlay. I have edited the mobile overlay and when I audience view in the app nothing has changed. When I stream is see nothing overlayed. Have been looking for a guide to the mobile setup with little luck.
I have been trying to add widgets with no luck
Hi there, are there plans to update the app to be usable with Mixer?
@humble walrus the mobile app doesnt support mixer even if you try and stream to the rmtp server.
Thanks @sleek hatch I see. Are there plans to include Mixer on the roadmap?
Currently - no, afaik
Okay thank you
@sterile fractal You are not suppose to see the overlay on the phone it self and only the stream is suppose to see it. Make sure you are editing the "mobile" named overlay.
@edgy gale okay thank you I will try that again tomorrow
Does anyone know how I can stream a game? Do I have to make an overlay?
@vagrant kraken StreamElements mobile app is IRL only
Have they changed it? I swear once upon a time I had streamed a game
Must've been using a different app I guess
Maybe with StreamLabs mobile app
Is there any option of screen capture in mobile app
already been answered, no, its IRL only
Guys what i do to stream is go into youtube.com/dashboard then when im loged in i press the stream button then get it all set up there, Then i go into stream labs and click stream and press upcomming event
@cunning siren Is there anything we can help with?
@edgy gale no just letting him know
Letting who know?
When you sign in with the app, a special mobile overlay is created in your account. You can edit that overlay however you wish, including editing your alerts.
@carmine pike
Yes
after you login with stream elements mobile app you should find an overlay in manager like this
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/534740418336915486/650585321263726592/unknown-3.png
Inside the app?
Please guys media share soon! Haha its all we need to take over streamlabs! βΊοΈ
The alerts are tts right?
You can via the Media request widget
FYI
Changes made to your mobile overlay will not be visible in the app, only on stream.
Interesting
Theres a media request widget??
I need to figure out how to set this up
For my media and text to speech
If anyone can help me id apreciate it so much
:(
Widgets?
You can add the media request widget to the overlay
and from your phone you need to enter the media request dashboard and click on "show on stream" while having our app open
this will play music for the stream
and then instead of shutting down the browser, just switch back to the app
Damn that was kinda confusing
I just wish there was a good alternative to streamlabs lol its so easy to setup all the widgets on mobile
Open our app
I gotchu
click on widgets
Hm
find Media Request
How do i get there
I dont have a pc
sure whatever
as long as you can get to the overlay editor
and click on these things
Ok
Does it work for youtube?
Im a youtube streamer haha
I dont see it inder the engagement thing
Hm
Aight
Any insight on my issue with streaming using the app? :/
@somber inlet what do you mean?
I usually use the app in companion mode to accompany my IRL backpack setup with Live U. I recently started using my phone to stream in certain situations (e.g. in water prone situations where having a waterproof phone is ideal or in dark environements where phones tend to perform better than the sony cam). No worries!
Hello will media song request work with an S11
@Legz#5754 you must try this - propably yes
Hi just came from Twitter I have no companion mode on the app
That's a screenshot of my app
@glacial ivy Hi! its weird we have the same version, let me ask around

Thought it was because of the app not optimised but when I downloaded it on my phone it's still the same
Yeah. This is something one of the devs might need to look into.
I see thanx for trying and let me know if there is any progress
Any progress on the issue of no companion mode
What I don't see asked or mentioned here is, what model phone are you using?
Also tried using a previous version but it just forces me to update on launch so still no luckπ«
Can you provide a screenshot from your pixel 4?
I needed to screenshot to show it to the devs
no worries keep mee updated. Thanks
Sorry to be a bother but any updates on this? Was hoping to stream in the next few hours
No update so far
Anything guys?
YT channels dont have companion mode
I don't think so
Ok thanx for your help
@somber inlet Apologies for the late reply. Your issue has been passed onto the android devs to investigate.
How to record screen
not possible with the mobile app, it's only for IRL streaming
Tnx
So i noticed on the note 10+ the app will shutdown randomly and/freeze.... anyone else experienced this?
It works but it has bugs where itll mess up
Quick question, even though Streamelements app has a 60fps setting, it seems to only stream in 30fps on my samsung s7 edge. Is that a device limitation?
Also, would this also be why the stream is disconnecting with a "twitch is not receiving stream, stopping" error?
Thanks in advance π
@static lichen I have the Rdnmi Note 8 pro - Android 9 sure you have the lastest version ?
@stray crater i just look it up and it seems that the cam of the S7 edge dont have the 60fps option.
And about the "twitch is not receiving stream" maybe its because internet connection? you have good signal?
@static lichen you can't find the app on the Google play store?
testing via wifi, so no problem there.
The app gives me the 60fps option, so that's why I tried it
@stray crater i think its because the main camera have the 60fps option but the selfie one don't
Ahh interesting... well I was using the main, not selfie, and it still didn't seem to be 60
Couple of potential issues for the devs, or for others to test and confirm -
When using a custom RTMP server, Streamelements will drop the connection with a "twitch is not receiving stream" error message IF that RTMP server does not start streaming to the app's linked account after a short time. (ie if you're using it for testing purposes and don't want to go live to your account, OR if you want to go live to a test account instead of the main account you use in your SE app)
Suggested fix 1 : either allow streamlabs to be used to a custom rtmp server without having to link a twitch/youtube account. It isn't really required.
Suggested fix 2 : Don't have the app check whether the twitch channel is live, when you're set to custom RTMP server.
When streaming directly from app to twitch in 1080p 60fps via Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the Twitch live stream video shows 1080p 48fps as its 'source' and there is no 1080p60 showing, so I assume the SE App is not ACTUALLY streaming out at 60fps
Not sure if this is device related/specific... but seems weird ?
Hope this helps. Thanks π
Does StreamElements allow me to embed a third party chat via url? I use custom rtmp server which broadcast to multiple platforms. A bot helps aggregates all the messages to a third party chat. And the goal is be to able to embed that to the StreamElements mobile app. In OBS, the Sources would be Browser
Add the chat as an overlay on the video
For mobile - no
Sorry, this might've been answered multiple times. Is there a way how to test the stream without it actually going live?
@fiery brook Not that I am aware of. You could try to log in to another account and test stream to that one.
What phone do you guys use to run StreamElements mobile app for twitch streaming IRL? My Pixel 3a overheats in less than an hour with streamelemnts, spotify, and google maps running.
The overheat issue can be a bit mitigated when you lower the bitrate in the app, but from personal experience Google Maps overheats my S7 Edge as well after like 30 minutes of usage on the road
but granted its a bit of an old phone
alright. i'll test it out with 480p and 2000kbps bitrate. before i had it set to 720 and 3000 kbps
@marsh zinc Thanks. I'll try with different account.
Hello! I'm having trouble going live from mobile, my net is fine and I've never had this issue before but it gives an error of "twitch not receiving stream"
I've tried different internet, reinstalled, same issue
@bitter steeple mobile data or WiFi?
Maybe this π€

Is Companion Mode for use with something like Mevo Plus, a device that encodes and stream via LTE?
still figuring out your mobile. i used a couple of your competitor and didn't like them
streamelements is smooth so far
smoother*
Companion mode is intended to be used with, lets say Gunrun backpack or any IRL backpack
@edgy gale holy s. so that's the irl kit streamers use. the closest i came across was mevo
tyyyy
Hello everyone
Is there any way to limit internet speed on Streamelements Android app?
I can not find any solution except rooting phone and instal some bandwidth liΔiter
Rooting is no go for me
I have Huawei P20 Lite
Hey, I'll ask our team internally and also include the speeds you mentioned in our ticket
Thx @twin wolf
Will Mixer be added as an option to the Mobile app anytime soon as it was for desktop?
No plans currently.
Don't really have experience with that, but if you have a capture card for console gameplay like an Elgato HD60s you can also connect that to your phone if you have the right cable for it and send it to OBS that way.
Hey y'all, is there an expected time for the SE iOS app? I started IRL Streaming from the gym recently and the official Twitch app only lets me broadcast in 480p.
no ETA, it's not even on the roadmap
Hello
I've been setting things up well but when I do !commands the list don't come up. Can someone help please
Didn't realise I needed to, thank you
no problem π
hi i have a problem
the mobile app only streams your camrea add a thing about your stream to it
what do you mean exactly?
the app doesn't have screen capture
it's for IRL streaming only
if you want an overlay for it, as soon as you start up the app it creates one in the 'my overlays' section on your dashboard on the website, it's called 'Mobile' iirc
hi, my Alert overlay from my Mobile iirc won't work in the live-stream. my follower-goal is working, but the Alertbox doesn't work. Can you help me please? 2nd question: what is the green "S" in the app? thx for help
Hello! I have a question, can I put overlays and or panels only only via mobile? Like is it possible to do so?
Are you referring to using the overlay editor via mobile?
or are you asking about editing the overlay via the mobile app?
I was doing it by safari
Like can I put the overlay in my stream via mobile or do I need a computer?
How exactly are you streaming?
Iβm using mob crush
To livestream
Because it only said by streamlabs u need a computer
On internet site
I dont really know what Mobcrush is, besides providing maybe overlays from what I can tell
just like we provide overlays
so the next question is, do you stream via your phone, console or PC/mac?
because at this point this question doesn't seem related to our mobile app
iPad
so you stream from your iPad?
Yes.
So to elaborate, we are Streamelements and our mobile app is only for android phones and it allows IRL streaming only.
Our app loads a special overlay that is created once you launch the app from your phone, that afterwards you can edit via the overlay editor
So I only can use it on android?
our mobile app - yes
Ok. Kinda stupid but ok
Hi!
I just installed the mobile app on my Samsung Galaxy S7. Then I edited the mobile overlay on my PC. But in the app, the overlay doesn't change. How often do you update these overlays?
You yourself do not see the overlay in the app.
Not sure if you can test your alerts with that.
I don't have alerts. just a custom widget.
I want to stream sports and want to add a scoreboard.
I am not sure if you are able to see that in the audience view, but afaik you do not.
ok, thanks
I tried to login in with my YouTube on the mobile but it won't let me. I was logged into it b4
hey is this for mobile streaming??
yes
the StreamElements app cannot capture the screen, it's for IRL streaming only
does widjets cost money
no
what kind of widjets r there
everything is free with StreamElements
https://streamelements.com/dashboard/overlays if you make an overlay here and then click on the widgets button you can see most of them π
there are also a lot in #widget-share
no problem π
Hey all. I wanted to test out using the mobile app and wanted to use my own alerts. I edited the overlay that was created from logging into the app, but I don't seem to get overlay tests and the preview still shows the default Purple Wave ones. I was told via Twitter this should work, but can I only know by going live?
And as a minor aside, If I click Show Chat in streamer view, does it display on the screen for viewers or solely myself?
I had the same problem. You have no preview in the app of your overlay.
I just created a hidden Teststream to test my overlay...
I just wanted to be sure. Thank you. I guess I'll leave the chat overlay out cos I don't know what size it'd be.
Stick with Alerts to be simple
Our mobile streaming app is for IRL streaming only at this time. It will not capture the screen.
If you're using OBS, you're not on mobile.
Then that's up to you how you get your phone mirrored onto your PC.
@languid bison calm down
That's not something we assist with here.
ok i am asking can i mirror y mobile with hdmi cable
Hi, how do I add overlay to mobile?
@strange patrol whe you log in the app for the first time it will create a Overlay on the SE page that you edit thats the overlay that your viewers see when you are live from your phone
iirc the overlay is named "MOBILE"
thanks @fallow flume
When you mute video on mobile can you have a BRB screen?
Yeah or a loss of connection overlay?
I'm trying to set up mobile game streaming but I'm unsure on what to do I'm very new to streaming can anyone help please?
The StreamElements app doesn't do screencapture, only the camera for IRL streaming
you'll need something like a Elgato HD60s with matching cables to hook up to your pc for capturing your phone or an app that is not from StreamElements, can't really recommend one though since i'm not very well known with those
Oh ok thank you
Hello im trying the mobile version
Twitch is not receiving stream, stopping..
What can i do?
@urban violet data or WiFi?
Yes i have a good connection wifi, btw i will try with data
Heya!
Just tried out the mobile app, which displays a preview of pre-set alerts in viewer mode. The app says I have alerts enabled too, yet they never popped up when LIVE. Have I missed anything?
The preview isn't tied to the overlay that is actually used. Please log into the site and look for the overlay that was created when you first signed in with the app. It'll include mobile in the name.
That overlay and only that overlay is the one that will be used when you go live.
Thank you! Looking at it in the editor right now. The overlay does have alerts activated on it, though.
It's possible something may have caused it to disconnect. In which case, you can delete the overlay, log out and back in to the app, and a new one will be created.
Ok
There is no app for iOS.
That's not what I asked for π
I meant a 3rd party app which integrate best with streamelements
I didn't ask for a streamelements app
We do have a mobile app called "Streamelements" in the play store, but it only allows IRL streaming
Streamelements is a black screen now /:
Can you elaborate a bit more? @urban violet
Sure
Gimme a sec
Its probably just my WiFi or something
Youtube is blocked at my current location tho
@urban violet What is giving you that error?
@urban violet Not sure what browser that is, but use chrome
And are you logging in with twitch or youtube?
Im using this app
So make sure you have the twitch app installed and logged in
In there I see a black screen
and make sure you open twitch on your phone browser and login there as well @urban violet
@urban violet do you have a PC?
3G? 4G?
You mean that thing wish gives you internet without connecting?
now clear our apps cache and data and try to login again.
Streamelemnts has a app!?
Make sure you also have 2FA enabled on your account @urban violet
@urban violet Yes, but its not for ipads
Oh ok then
@urban violet Are you able to open the dev console of the browser?
You mean open any other link on that
Im not smart
Sorry
Everything works except Youtube and streamelemnts
If youtube and us are not opening up, then your ISP is blocking us or something else
Youtube is blocked at my current location tho
It was just to try something anyways
Thanks for helping me
Is there still no app for the iOS for StreamElements?
@candid lichen Not at this time.
Where would I ask questions about the mobile version of the giveaway site? Donβt want to spam the category for the app xD
@elfin tinsel preferably #helpdesk-twitch , as this channel is about our mobile app, not the mobile version of our website.
Thank you!
With Tiltify, since the donations don't appear in the recent event list and don't appear in chat with chat alerts. It isn't a great leap to assume they won't appear on the StreamElements app on Android in companion mode, right?
no they won't
Well, darn.
Hey there's Green screen in mobile app for my camera?
Is this the place where I can report issues on mobile browser? (Pls @ me)
I'm referring to the media request page on the streamelements site accessing via my mobile phone
This is not chrome, right?
My issue is when playing media from my phone to be sent to my overlay, the text and stuff gets all messed up making it difficult to press any of those buttons
It is firefox but I have the same issue with chrome
I switched to firefox as it has volume control where as chrome does not
This is chrome
Also I would like to have volume control enabled on chrome but I think that's a browser player issue
Try horizontal mode
Horizontal mode is a work around however that doesnt really improve my workflow
It's not really ideal for me to keep changing my screen only for media request
What is model of your phone?
Working well for me
Huawei Y7 Prime
Did you press show on stream?
Yea that's what I'm talking about
At that point it's difficult to press the skip button
Thanks for the report!
