Hello, my alerts suddenly stopped working, it was working well and all of a sudden graphic stopped showing but the sound is still coming through.
I tried the following so far and no result:

• disable/enable hardware acceleration
• refreshed cache for the browser source
• reinstalled obs and obs live
  Nothing works
  Ps i tried it on another pc and it worked well.

Hi. That sounds like a local issue for sure, if the other PC is working. So far you have tried all the steps that i would recommend. So let's try to open those overlays in a regular browser on that PC and test it. @lusty crest

You need a variation set to Tier2 subscriber event, then you can set up TTS for that one specifically.

Hey, fam! For the past month my bot has been double or triple posting messages in chat. I disabled my custom bot name and that helped, but now the bot doesn't have the free life-time tier 3 sub like it would have if the custom bot worked. Also the past week or two it has also just randomly stopped working? No apparent trigger, just stops and then wakes back up like an hour later? SE only uses the custom bot name when LIVE, using the Overlay and you have the tip link below ya stream.

Do you have the social command on SE and Ya custom bot ?

SE using the Bots name shouldnt be causing Triple replys, Only thing to really cause that would be if 3 bots using that name all have the same !social / !socials command enabled 🤔 across them

You need to understand that custom bot names are only active when the software is running. if you close OBS.Live - bot will fall back to StreamElements name

Dang, keep an eye on it. As far as I’m aware, there isn’t anything in OBS to let you set a thumbnail. If the feature exists, it would most likely be on the YouTube side of things

anyone having issues with facebook and SE. I can go live but then after a few minutes facebook says its not receiving the signal. I uninstalled SE and tried regular OBS and it did the same thing. Went live with SLOBS and had no issues.

I had no issues until the last update. even after installing the stable version I'm still having issues!

It sounds like you need to sign in to your youtube account in OBS. Go to Settings > Stream and connect your acct by logging in there if you haven’t already

2. it closes and the setup window opens
3. it """updates""" and then shows the finish screen
4. i press finish and it loops back to step one

I tried leaving it on while I played a game of Dota 2. When I tabbed out of the game to check about 20 minutes later, it was still not responding. It's not completely crashing, though. I have to manually terminate the app.

Hi, I'm trying to add browser sources from streamelements but when I import them into OBS (and correct the resolution) they do not visually show up on the screen. The source is there and I can move it around, but something isn't being properly pulled from streamselements even though I can click on that source and open the streamelements editor. I have tried with both alerts and static images, and neither are showing up at all.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()

Hello guys, been 3 weeks since the last time I opened my obs.live and now it keeps telling me I need to update every time I open the app. I update and right after it gives me again the same warning for the exact same version of the update I just had. Plus all my web sources are not working and I don't see any streamelements add-ons in the software anymore. I'm stuck in a update loop, tried reinstalling, updating via website and even updating obs studio(which gets my web sources working again but I still can't see streamelements dashboard, chat etc etc) it's like streamelements doesn't exist within obs anymore

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

You should be able to go to the Streamelements Menu > OBS.Live Docks (if you aren't using OBS.Live: View > Docks ). The stream info dock should allow you to change that info

7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()

9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Hi, I'm trying to add browser sources from streamelements but when I import them into OBS (and correct the resolution) they do not visually show up on the screen. The source is there and I can move it around, but something isn't being properly pulled from streamselements even though I can click on that source and open the streamelements editor. I have tried with both alerts and static images, and neither are showing up at all.

Sorry for answering even though I'm not a member of the staff, but have you tried just... trying it and seeing if it's on or not? Like start the stream and open it on your PC or phone, that's how I test everything

If you want to use overlays while streaming from your PS, you will need to use a capture card on your PC, then use OBS to stream the game capture with the overlay.

It's called Green Metropolis Animated Alerts. It shows up fine in StreamElements editor, and I can emulate it, but when it's in OBS it's just a black box of nothing.

Your overlay is just one alert box - if there's no alerts playing at the moment, it'll be a black screen. Did you try emulating alerts?

Probably a common issue, but I've been trying to connect my secondary account to use it as a custom name for the bot and it just never happens. I log in correctly from the OBS.Live plugin but I never get the option to send test message and the bot stays as "StreamElements".

Okay I was able to find a fix to the loop issue. I had to Uninstall SE OBS plugin first, then uninstall OBS, Make sure when you uninstall OBS that you do not check off the user profiles to uninstall. Then I went to OBS project website. Downloaded OBS and installed as admin (make sure it downloads 27.0.1 version) Then installed the SE OBSLive plugin again (do not install the OBS Live using their install wizard) and then it all sync'd

Seems the install wizard from SEOBS was still pulling an old update file for version 26.x.x of OBS so the plugin wouldn't recognize it I suppose

In that case, remove OBS.Live

then use the installer from the OBS website

that will force an update on top of your OBS Studio

keeping your plugins intact hopefully

usually uninstalling OBS Studio, there is an option to keep user data such as scenes and profile data

but i don't think it works the same for other plugins

but usually this method i listed helps if you are stuck in an infinite update loop

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

1. Right-click on your OBS desktop shortcut and open the Properties
2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
3. Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4. Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

sorry I didn't see this sooner, when you uninstall OBS live it will give you an option to uninstall the user profiles. Do not do this make sure it is unchecked so it keeps your profile. As an extra measure you can export your profile to your drive so you can import it later too

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Sorry, new here, I have a question I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere.

When I am streaming a game(windowed fullscreen) when i alt tab to check something on my 2nd monitor my webcam does a quick little zoom in and out. I've noticed it's whenever I transition from having the game in focus to not.... So even just hitting my windows key causes my webcam to sort of spazz out for a second.

@shy mountain yes it does i just asked the developer if he can provide anything, as i mentioned the browser source works completely fine in obs studio but as soon as the obs.live plugin is enabled - the scale of the source becomes extremely stretched. No matter what you can do it doesnt seem it can be identical to the appearance it was in obs studio. Obviously however there are other great features of obs.live we need so using the shell version isnt an option. Weve kind of exhausted efforts on how to determine a fix here

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

So I have a bit of problem with my follower goal overlay that I'm using. A couple of days ago when I had 27 followers I noticed the overlay say that I had like 36 or something like that. I lost a follower and now I have 26 followers and overlay now says that I have 40 followers? This never happened before and I'm super confused.

Extra Info

• I'm using the overlay in OBS but I did all of this extra info finding and troubleshooting stuff in the overlay editor on the official website.

• When I place another follower related overlay such as Total Follower Count it properly shows the correct number of followers.

• No matter which version of the overlay I use (condensed, simple design, percentage of completion, etc) it still shows the same thing.

• I have the set goal to 50.

Troubleshooting

• I tried creating a new follower goal within the same overlay. (didnt work)
• I tried changing the goal amount. ( " )
• I tried creating a brand new overlay completely and creating a follower goal layer in that one. ( " )

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

Hey guys, I use StreamElements Overlays to display some of my information on my stream and as you can see the game and my facecam run perfectly smooth, but the overlay stutters quite a bit. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Hello, I'm trying to get my bot to be called 'DrSleep' which is the same as my channel name. I see the second option, but it doesnt work when I select it. I tried sending Test Messages.

Dont want to use the Custom Bot Name function as I want the bot to have the exact name as my channel. Does anyone know if it can be done?

8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Im in need of help peeps! Yesterday i booted up obs and suddenly my chat doesnt hear any audio set to monitor only (mute output) in avanced priority. OBS.Live does not interfere with local video sources at all. This is a basic OBS Studio function
