obs.live keeps crashing for me. Reinstalling didn't work. If i logout when it first loads it will work fine in regular obs mode, then i re-log in and browsers won't show.

- Repeat steps 1 and 2
- Duplicate the current "Scene Collection" at the very top of OBS, call it something like "Backup" and remove all browser sources in that backup
- Install OBS.Live and see if it still crashes
- If yes, repeat steps 1 and 2, leave OBS.Live uninstalled, tell us that it didn't work and use your old default scene collection again.

Hey @shy mountain my issue is that it crashes only when i log in to obs.live, OBS itself when logged out does not crash and browsers from SE work absolutely fine. When it logins SE browsers will freeze. Leaving obs and reopening will then crash UNLESS I logout and in again.

So we had an issue that was attended to and it might take a little while for everybody's Dashboard to go back to normal activity.
I can also see the behavior is difference but please take that into consideration.
Steps I can advise on: Refresh the dashboard with CTRL+SHIFT+R if you see a plain white page. Also for Editor as it might help.
Can also navigate to https://streamelements.com/logout [<-- use the link] and then login again to your account (Twitch/Youtube/Facebook).
This should help out with that.

Can anyone help me please im on xbox one x got a elgato hd60 capture card. But keep getting black screen issue works fine for a couple days then all of a sudden go to stream next day and game capture gets a black screen webcam and overlays all showing just black where the game capture is tried to run as an administrator that used to solve it but now isn't not sure if it was just coincidence. Made sure everything is up to date capture card/graphics card etc. Any help or advice would be much appreciated

I see. I'm guessing these issues are sporadic because of possible proximity differences to the affected server in the backend.
Unfortunately we cannot be conclusive at the moment as the issue is external.
Having said that, All the 'white\blank page' issues should be resolved, assuming we don't meet unexpected issues.
If only the Editor seems to display this issue (after trying to SHIFT+CTRL+R it), please open the Dev tools by pressing F12,
Click on the "Console" tab, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+R. Once the page finished loading please take a screenshot of the entire screen.
When posting the screenshot please @ me.

it seems that refreshing the cache on the source in OBS.live fixed it for not loading on obs and on the website is SHIFT+CTRL+R

I'm not sure as to why this happens. An easy way to fit to screen is CTRL+F, so it might be less of a pain
basically, assuming you're logged into your StreamElements and the streaming service, it should be kept the same as you organized
I would also export my profile as an extra step to maybe make the program 'save' the layout or sizes

Super strange issue. The overlay sources in OBS just aren't working. Tried disabling hardware acceleration under settings. I'm able to go to the link in a browser and it loads up fine. OBS just isn't loading the overlays. I can put any other web source in and it loads it up fine. It's specific to the overlays in OBS and I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Twas working fine yesterday.
Changes I made that could have affected it in some way: I renamed the twitch channel, updated the overlays for the new name (just text updates). I have since logged out/logged in of all of the accounts again to re-associate the accounts (even though they didn't seem like they needed it). I have also tried re-adding the source anew and it still won't show up. It is above the game capture in the sources list so it should display fine. Even with nothing else in the sources other than the overlay it still does not show up.
Any assistance is appreciated. Sorry for the wall of text. I tried a lot of stuff.

I'm not sure what else to say, this is my first time using Streamelements. I set up all my overlays after moving from streamlabs. Not sure if it could be the problem but I transferred all my data from streamlabs to streamelements. It was working a little while ago testing everything and than it just stopped. I'm having difficulties with the custom bot name option. Every now and then it stops using my own accounts name and wont reconnect it, even though I've tried to do so, and has to be reverted back to the StreamElements moniker instead. Any idea what's causing that? I've tried googling it but nothing that comes up is even remotely helpful

No as in it's logged in and I'm able to select my name as a custom bot name, but when it comes to the bot actually sending messages under my name they never show up
No test messages, no command responses, no alert messages

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hi Stream Elements! I am having issues with my OBS having dropped frames and bitrate. I have been running my stream elements/obs on a microsoft surface (Intel R Core, i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60 GHz 1.80 GHz, 8gb of Ram) successfully for about 4 months. Without making any changes to my computer settings/obs settings, I have recently began to experience massive frame rate drops in the past week. I am having trouble troubleshooting if the issue is CPU related or bandwidth related.
I have tried trouble shooting (lowering the resolution on the stream, resolution on the camera, bitrate output, encoder being switched to software, opening up the firewall tcp port, literally everything that is suggested online) but nothing is helping.

@forest sequoia There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security
WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

What's good y'all. It's CarpeNutz. Hope all is well! Trying to see if someone in here can help me with my stream issues. Lately, the past couple of days, both Facebook and Twitch have been lagging. I've streamed to both Facebook and Twitch individually and separate and still getting lag on stream. I thought it was COD but when I stream Rogue Company, it does it too.

@carmine turtle to transfer OBS.live data from one computer to another, do the following:
- on your old computer, you will open OBS.live, rename the Profile (example: Twitch) and Scene (example: Mystream)... in the StreamElements menu, at the top, Cloud Backup, Backup Settings and Contest... select the profiles you want save to the backup file, name the backup file (example: Backup2020-08-12), and click the Backup button.
- on your new computer, you will open OBS.live, in the StreamElements menu, at the top, Cloud Backup, Manage Cloud Backups, select the recent backup file (example: Backup2020-08-12), click the Open button, and after downloading, click on the Restore button.
Note: name or rename the Profile and Scene items; don't backup with the default names.

@elfin axle If you are not seeing Likes/Shares on your current stream or page, that might be due to how the privacy settings of the person liking/sharing your stream are set.
If they are set to private we won't be able to see the events.
Specifically for shares, if they share in private groups, we won't be able to see the event.

@elfin axle there are couple simple things you may have overlooked? I know after making my custom alerts and getting them all in there i was fried lol so i accidentally had my alert box set behind my game capture so start there lol

Hello, I use OBS to stream and game and for some reason OBS is glitching and lagging when I am on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare when I am in the game but when I click off it's normal but glitching and the game runs fine and so does OBS but it only happens when I click into the game. What do I do?

There's no plain upload button. You need to be changing an asset in a widget, such as an alertbox. That will open the library, and in the top right corner of it, that's where you'll find the upload option.

Hoping someone can help on this. I've had StreamElements Activity Feed/Live Chat panels installed on my OBS Studio for many months now. The Activity Feed is helpful in keeping track of my superchats so I can acknowledge them. I notice the feed stopped updating on August 6th. I've logged out and back in and it didn't help. I was totally lost tonight on my stream, scrambling to keep track of the tips as they came in. Why would the feed suddenly stop updating?

@elfin axle If you are not seeing Likes/Shares on your current stream or page, that might be due to how the privacy settings of the person liking/sharing your stream are set.
If they are set to private we won't be able to see the events.
Specifically for shares, if they share in private groups, we won't be able to see the event.

Morning! I've had StreamElements Activity Feed/Live Chat panels installed on my OBS Studio for many months now. The Activity Feed is helpful in keeping track of my superchats so I can acknowledge them in real time without missing any. I notice my feed stopped updating on August 6th. Yo guys I had a question to ask, right now I have a dual pc setup, and my stream pc is a laptop so my capture card is elgato HD 60s, and I use the gaming pc obs preview method for the graphic capture ( because my gaming screen is 1440p 144hz). So my problem is when I was playing a high movement game such as COD, on my gaming screen everything is pretty smooth, however my on my streaming pc's obs live, the graphic is very laggie, it shows 60fps in the obs but in stream or records it feels like 30fps, do you guys have a solution for this?

dealing with major output lag. someone in general i should chat with to see if im missing a setting to change and help it. I downgraded recommended settings that it chose for my pc from 1080 to 720 and bitrate from 6k to 3k and even down to 1k. When I try to stream, I get a popup that says "Start streaming to YouTube", but the page is blank. Closing the window does not start the stream. It does this even if streaming to YouTube is turned off.

@harsh igloo We're not able to troubleshoot issues with using our overlays in StreamLabs OBS (SLOBS) as we don't have the tools to support their software. We recommend using OBS Studio or OBS Studio with our plugin OBS.Live.

Hi, I recently added the Royal Red Alerts to obs and sometimes when the follower alert for example pops up the name is blurred but the rest of the text isnt. any idea on how to fix this? Help with this would be appreciated.

Hello, I had a problem where all my scenes from different scene collections will be in every singe collection (and even duplicated about 5 times). I deleted every scene collection and scenes to see if that would fix it. I close OBS then open and then all of my scenes that I just deleted are back and duplicated.

@burnt bloom Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hello SE Team. Was hoping you may have a link to a knowledge base for a problems with Alerts.
I am using the black gold overlay (pre defined) from stream elements. Yes, I am using the OBS Live add in from SE.
My alerts do not seem to fire, unless I've been live for quite some time. I have my host alert set to a minimum of zero viewers (cause I have that happen). It never triggers.
Any suggestions or a KB article I could try to see if I can resolve my alert issue?

@tough terrace Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:
- All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
- Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Please understand that every setup will be very different.
Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.
You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.
Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

If anyone can help me my stream buffers/lags everytime I fly into the map on apex legends it does it on 720 and 1080p I play on a 144hz and flying in my frames drop to around 100 and it lags everytime when flying in and the rest of the game streams fine I have a 2060

Hi guys I've stutter problems.
I mounted a new gpu GTX1650 super.
Cpu is a i5 5670k, 16b of rams.
I was making some tests with Gears of war 4, I lowered all the visual settings in game to the lowest possible but the game shown on obs is still stuttering

You mean to disable "Always On Top" in OBS? It's In File > Always On Top
