look in your OBS audio mixer

its unmuted - that means all audio passing through windows will be LIVE

that is a huge mistake, we must individually stream audio per audio instead of everything we hear, that way we have more control and also keep those return audio problem related out

to fix your issue just mute desktop audio

and done

if u want to something audio's be returned in live just make it individually through sources

@brittle jay If you are not hearing your Alerts and/or Media request, you are most likely using the "Control Audio via OBS" option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

it should be showing but u can't check if it is or not, best way to check this is to stream and join the stream by smartphone

The problem comes from the sound of my alerts, it works when I test it on my streamelements overlays but when I stream on OBS studio I don't have any sound anymore, I do have the image of the alert but no sound. try going to your live in twitch and check out if viewers are getting audio return from the alerts

by default, the sound for all browser sources go through the desktop audio, make sure the desktop audio is set correctly in settings > audio

once these are done, do a quick recording and test alerts and game sounds to make sure its working

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

The overlays are designed for 1920x1080. If you need other sizes, then you would need to recise the overlay and reorder the assets.

Hey - all over sudden my sound alerts stopped playing - been using them for years, people can still redeeem and the redeems show up in the redeem history etc, but the sounds dont play - i have two layers in my overlay, one is the normal alert box with subs/bits/etc and the other one is for store redemptions.

u are streching the overlays from 1920 to 2560 and then enconding them in 1920 again and sending to twitch servers

option 1 (recommended), change canvas size to 1920 x 1080, that way the games you play will be supersampled deliveryin a even higher then 1920 quality

option 2, would be change your overlays in streamelements dashboard to 1440p, so it will stop streching

If you have two separate audio outputs that you use, and one isn't the default, you can set the audio output by clicking the cog/settings icon next to the browser source audio you want to change in the audio dock. If none of those are what you want to set it to, then it'll require the workaround I mentioned above

@obsidian cradle To change how you want the MR audio to be output to you need to use something like VAC or a physical mixer to route the audio. There is no way around this as by default any browser source in OBS is set to use the default audio device set in it.

Okay so:
I have Sound Effects enabled in my Channel via the Streamelements. I use OBS Studio & used a link so that people coul redeem via chat. ( !redeem w/e Soundeffect) Recently, it hasnt been working anymore, however it has been working if it is redeemed from the Store itself. It seems there is something wrong with the link I have put into OBS. I havnt chnaged anything that could have caused it to not work anymore. Also, I use KappaGen as an ov erlay from StreamElements, which still works. I am honestly unsure where I have gotten from the Soundeffect link originally & can't find it anymore. if anyone could help me out I would be beyond thankful. 🙂

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
  Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.
  Note for Mixer streamers: The above 2 filters currently apply for Mixer and we are aware its actually not how Mixer hosts work. We do plan on changing it, but no ETA on when.

I'm having an issue today where in OBS live my browser sources are not working and just crash my obs everytime i run it. If i uninstall obs live they work fine. Any idea whats causing it/how to fix it?

Adding/removing them does nothing they just still don't work and reopening obs crashes it once again. Also my alerts don't show up anymore. They were all working fine yesterday and today just randomly not working and causing major crashing issues

Hi! I'm customizing my Alerts using stream elements right now and it won't register that I'm changing my Cheer Alert. I've tried multiple pictures and removing and changing the sound but it just keeps doing the default one. I have no idea how to force it to realize it's changed or why it's not changing. I primarily stream on twitch, but I sometimes stream on mixer as well, but needing to sign out of OBS live and then back in (whie only taking a few secs) seems like an unnecessary step. being able to switch StreamElements account within OBS Live would be an awesome addition imo 🙂

@sick veldt I recommend using the automatic settings picker in OBS itself, but all in all, at 40mbps you should sit fine using 5000 kbps without any problems. That should be plenty even for face-paced games. If it's still a bit noisy, bump it 500 kbps. Twitch's 1080p cap for non-partners is 6000 so really anywhere in that 5-6000 window should look clean
