Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

Merging accounts only allow faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: https://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

Adding an yt-account won't change things on your twitch-account. Your just getting a separate account for YT. You wil see when your clicking your account right top an extra account with under your name youtube.

Well the issue is that the youtube I need to merge is an already claimed channel. SO I don't have the option to just manually merge them like that

I had that issue also. Try logging of with your twitch account and than logging in with your yt account. Then go to the same site as i said before and go to security than close account. Your yt-account/channel will be closed then. Than log off and log in with twitch-account and try it again.

4 hours is a possibility, but you could very well not get live events based on how YouTube has designed their system

I need an info.
I've logged for first with my facebook page, and after I've added my YouTube account. Streamelements has created separate accounts, but when I'm on obs, seems se.live see only facebook account connected, so I have only alerts for it (not subscriber alerts) and if I click go live, it show only option for facebook. With a plugin seems I can do multi streaming at same time, but not sure if eventually alerts will show up....some help?

Posting this here looking for any insight.

I have all of my overlays working with YouTube while livestreaming. It procs alerts for subscribers and updates my latest subscriber box no problem.

However it does not show alerts for channel memberships or update my latest member whatsoever.

When I emulate it through streamelements, everything works. But it realtime the alerts and trackers seem to not work. Any ideas? ♥

Due to changes by YouTube there can be a delay up to 4 hours with subscriber notifications. This is the new intended way for receiving events from YouTube by their design.

Are your alerts delayed more than 4 hours?

I accidentally had both alerts on from stream elements and stream labs and noticed how elements would randomly start doing alerts an hour late while labs did it instantly. I honestly like elements more, only if it were as responsive.

Hi, it’s been now more than 2 weeks I’ve been facing issues with the streamelements bot responding to the commands

Whenever i’m live (public live) the timer commands work, but the trigger commands don’t, not responsive at all for few hours / an entire stream

In another scenario : the timer works still but there is a huge latence when triggering commands (60 secs or so)

3rd scenario : The bot has logged in the chat but not responsive neither for the timer commands / nor the trigger commands

I’ve been linking / unliking streamelements to my YouTube channel multiple times, nothing makes it better

It still stops responding randomly in the middle of the stream / at the beginning

Would love to get more support about this issue, I saw it affects some other content creators too

Not sure how I would take a screenshot of this particular issue.

If the members (think you guys have it listed as sponsors for some reason) goal is currently at say 10/50... and someone gifts 5 memberships. Upon receiving the gift, the member count will go to 15/50... then YouTube will apply those gifts to 5 different viewers... taking the member count to 20/50... meaning stream elements has counted the memberships twice

Hi guys, i'm having trouble with the chat box overlay (streaming with obs to youtube). The overlay does appear, but the chat messages are not showing up. Can somebody help? By the way, the chat messages work fine within the simluation in the overlay editor, just the overlay in obs somehow doesn't receive the chat messages.

This seems like it should be more simple than it is but my new sub alert allows me to change font/color of everything but the sub's name. I assumed it would be the secondary text, but changing that color does not seem to matter. Any help here is appreciated.

Streamelements is not capturing any of YT memberships, they show in youtube studio, but not getting pulled over to SE.

No alerts or tracking for them on stream either. Is this a known issue currently? Just wondering so I can change my tracker to superchats instead.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hi there I don’t know what’s going on but I’ve been trying to stream using OBS studios With stream elements I changed it over before because I thought maybe I might stream on twitch and I decide I may sort it out different dates so I switch back to my YouTube and today I go to lifestream and it won’t connect to the server I’ve tried everything I’ve deleted OBS studios re-downloaded it and it still won’t work I don’t know what to do

I had this same issue. You must have logged in with YouTube in the past. Log in with your Youtube account, close that SE account (make sure you back up any overlays you might want to keep). Then, log in with Twitch and connect your YouTube

Not that I know of. It makes sense for there to be a delay though between when you enter a command in chat and when the bot replies (from a dev perspective at least)

If they're all different URL, then they're seen as "different" overlays. It looks to me like you just duplicated it 8 times. Were you trying to move or rename it at all, or accidentally click duplicate?

Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

Merging accounts only allow faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: https://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

Having the same issue. I think it has to do with the awful way YouTube handles subscription notifications. If they have their subs set to private, there won't be an alert. Otherwise, I think there's like a 4 hour delay

just realized we lost sponsorships, meaning the only things left for youtube is the tipping page, the bot, and merch. the routes still exists for it, it's just not public facing. is there actually any work being done to actually bring features for all the newer emerging YouTube streamers? I would definitely recommend merging. It'll make it a lot easier for you to share your overlays across both your channels.
Clicking your profile on the top right of streamelements web page, then clicking your channel name and selecting "Channel settings", you can invite managers with different levels of authorization. Not sure though if they're independant to each channel or shared across both

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Hi, it’s been now more than 3 weeks I’ve been facing issues with the streamelements bot responding to the commands

Whenever i’m live (public live) the timer commands work, but the trigger commands don’t, not responsive at all for few hours / an entire stream

In another scenario : the timer works still but there is a huge latence when triggering commands (60 secs or so)

3rd scenario : The bot has logged in the chat but not responsive neither for the timer commands / nor the trigger commands

I’ve been linking / unliking streamelements to my YouTube channel multiple times, nothing makes it better

It still stops responding randomly in the middle of the stream / at the beginning

Would love to get more support about this issue, I saw it affects some other content creators too

Due to changes by Youtube there can be a delay up to 4 hours with subscriber notifications. This is the new intended way for receiving events from Youtube by their design.

I might have a solution for the sub event. On youtube everyone has the possibility to subscribe to a channel. But for a sub event to happen, the subscriber must have his privacy setting off. In other words, everyone can see to what pages he subscribed. If he has this on private, so no one can see what channels he is subscribed to, there will be no sub event. You can change the settings here: Go to your youtube page > go to the right corner with your profile pic > Settings > Privacy > uncheck the option "keep all my subscriptions private". Then sub again, see if that helped.

Hello, anyone know why the streamelements activity feed module doesn't seem to see superchats? All the other activity feed things show up as seen in the screenshot below but superchats are just absent entirely. Filtering just by superchats makes for a totally empty list. Live while streaming they weren't showing up at all either so it's not a "marked as read" thing.

Would be great to somehow change the way to add SE bot to a YouTube channel or make it more clear and easy.
There are many copycats of SE on YouTube, and when someone is trying to paste the link https://www.youtube.com/streamelements, he literally can't understand which channel is real. Alas, the verification icon doesn't show in search box, so it's hard to understand who is who.

I wanted to describe the issue real quick: if we double click Twitch SE shareable URL alerts, they are installed just fine. However, if we double click YouTube or FB SE alerta, we're redirected to SE's homepage and the alerts are not installed.

This suddenly started happening around the time that SE's made some changes to their alerts/overlays system

We've been making SE alerts for years using the same process but we can't figure out why they stopped working.

I just wanted to make sure I'm not misunderstanding the settings for Timers. I'm looking to have a timer that will not fire more than once every 30 minutes. I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the chat bot in YouTube. Right now, it's joining the chat, but I can't get any auto commands to run. To note, I have it tied to a YouTube Studio Account rather than a Brand Account.

I've followed all the steps in #helpdesk-youtube message and also closed out and reopened my StreamElements account after having issues adding the wrong account. Are there any other troubleshooting steps that I can take to try and get the bot working?

dashboard > bot settings on the right > part channel > then removed it from my mod list on youtube > joined > added it once again to mod status > waited for the site to say it was connected and tried to communicate with it for the last 30 mins with no luck.

the chat and the bot issue are likely related. my labels and alerts work.

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

For the goals, if you goto your dashboard then navigate to activity feed > widget data > settings, turn the option to reset session data 15 minutes after stream off

Due to changes by Youtube there can be a delay up to 4 hours with subscriber notifications. This is the new intended way for receiving events from Youtube by their design.

Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page, and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

We have a way to fully block the viewer from tipping - this can be done in the tipping history here:
https://streamelements.com/dashboard/tipping/list
Find the tips from the user here and block him (button on the right). If he uses multiple names/emails - has to be done for each one of them.

If you still wish to receive tips but hide his message - this can be done, visit the tipping settings - Tip Moderation section, enable automatic tip filtering and add his name to the filtered words list and select the filter action: disable alerts.

thanks @versed tangle . It's hard to believe that ALL of the subbies from the last week are set to private. Also, I just checked my recent events in streamlabs... if this is an API issue, then YouTube is letting more through over there than they are on StreamElements. I prefer StreamElements for many thing and would like to finish switching all of my alerts etc over to here. But this one area seems to work better on Streamlabs. Not sure why, and I have other issues with their offering so I don't want to use them exclusively.

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Hey @minor blaze As sudo said, the bot only joins when a stream is live and the visibility is set to Public. YouTube is not the same as twitch and YouTube works way differently than Twitch

What you can do is start a Mockup Public Stream and you can test the bot in that Mockup stream and then delete the VOD afterwards

Hi SE friends. Long-time user, first-time problem haver. When I opened OBS, I got a prompt to update SE, so I did. When it relaunched, I got another prompt to update it. Assuming that something had gone wrong with the first install, I just gave it another go. Anyway it appears that I now have SE installed twice (see images)
This is funny but I'm concerned that it'll cause problems down the line. Is there a way to address this? I'd hate to do a clean reinstall unless I really have to.

The update loop is a known issue and our devs are looking into it as we speak. In the meantime, a workaround we can offer is simply canceling the update/clicking on "not now", this will let you open OBS as usual.

If you're referring to the bot not being in chat then i believe this is a known Issue and being looked into and as for your subs due to how YouTube's API works If someone subs to you but they don't have who they are sub to set to public se cannot gather that data unfortunately

Due to changes by Youtube there can be a delay up to 4 hours with subscriber notifications. This is the new intended way for receiving events from Youtube by their design.

Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page, and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

I can check to see if there is any other issues, but truthfully, that is the reason why they're "not" appearing.

Most YT accounts now days are created with the settings in private, causing alot of alerts to not trigger

When playing games normally I have 0 issues amazing speeds fps and 0 delay. However when Im streaming any game I try drops fps and loses 0 delay even on really decent hardware

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Restart OBS
Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
Stop your stream/recording.
Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

Merging accounts allows for faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: http://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

Couple of questions

1: If I have a different profile for my Twitch and YT and I edit labels eg have "Recent Subscriber" named "Recent Member" on YouTube will it keep the different names or alter for both profiles?

Hi Team,

I have full admin rights to a YouTube channel for streamlabs and we have set everything up, the chatbot is connected and working and the alerts are emulating fine.

The issue we are having is nothing is being picked up in the activity feed, so no alerts are coming up for superchat events overlay wise, nothing is showing in the OBS plugin for the activity feed, and no activity is presenting on the browser version of the dashboard.

Just wondering what we can do to fix this and get the activity feeds working?

We've also found the S.E OBS plugin is not connecting to the chat so he's using a different third party chatbot to see the chat at the moment

Joined this server to report issues since updating StreamElements but from the looks of things not the only one. As well as the duplicate controls, I also had an issue where my camera wouldn't load (it was earlier after the update), but then it didn't, so I restarted OBS, and then OBS would load and immediately crash. The only fix was uninstalling StreamElements, if I reinstall it crashes again.

this is an ongoing issue a lot of people been having including myself the only thing i can recommend to you to try is to go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions Look for StreamElements
and "Remove Access"
than logout and log back in on https://streamelements.com/
Last step is "Part and Join"

I know on recordings for example you can upscale your recording from 1080p to 4k in editing software.

Hey @main girder I DMed both Eglorian and Renziito about this. Eglorian told me that takes awhile for the bot to come back to life and Renziito said that he has let the Dev Team know about this. So its possible YouTube broke the bot

AH, great, thanks for the reply. Some days, the bot seems to work right away, some days it seems if i do a command, it wakes it up, other days, it's dead. 😦 I hope this is resolved, as streaming without streamelements after being used to it on twitch is painful lol
