If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

so before i fixed an issue where i made it my name in lowercase, but the option to do so is no longer there. the only options i see is my name with capital letters and custom bot but theres no longer a field to type my name in lowercase anymore

okay here's my question

idk if this is a windows 10 thing or not but i was confused when the screenshot in the example was different

by default, the target path is in quotations, the screenshot in the example is void of that

im just going to have to upload my emotes to BTTV, that will forever solve my issue (or until stream elements does another weird change) of having the bot the same name as me since i can no longer manually type it in a field and im not going to change my profile name to all lower case on twitch's end. I've had the issue before and i keep seeing others do too.

For verification, reason why I want to have the bot my name is so it can use my emotes without having to gift sub it. Sure, I could edit allllllllllllll my custom commands to not include the emote name(s) but I've spent too much time and effort on them.

I just dont really understand why capital letters has to have such an impact on things. I'm sure there is some kind of coding reason. Thank you sudo, I appreciate your help and all the things stream elements has to offer.

The quotes are a windows thing when referencing a file path that has spaces in it. As I believe that was my screenshot I have it installed to a location that lacks spacing therefore the missing quotes.

That part looked fine. As long as you opened/reopened OBS after doing that and went to that place in browser it should bring up the clickable text in the next image.

Hello. G'morning. My custom bot name is no longer working. I recently reset my password on Twitch and went through and reset my connection for my bot account to StreamElements. But after doing the authorization, it still shows "StreamElements" as the bot name. The only thing I have tried is removing the connection on Twitch and reauthorized the StreamElements connection. Is there something on the OBS side that I'm missing, perhaps? I can't think of anything else to do to fix this. 🆘

Any certain reason why no links work properly on this new streamelements layout? I've recently came back to streaming and can't customize chat bot, have to click about 4 times on my overlays just to get it to do anything. I am using chrome and have tried brave as well as firefox...

Is there a way to revert to the old streamelements layout?

In my stream I play music, and when I play a son, I pause the SE alerts via my streamdeck. And if the song is over, I unpause them, to get all the alerts happened during a song. But, I am facing with a problem, that sometimes I can not pause or unpause them anymore. It is like stucked. Not even with Groundcontroll nor in OBS. I have to click reload overlays then it works sometimes...but then after a while the problem is back again.
Is there any restrictions regarding this pause/unpause alerts? Like if I push it too many times, it will be disabled for me (too many requests) or so?

Because the alerts having also a music included. Means if I play a song (on guitar with Rocksmith), and an alert plays also some audio, it is mixed badly. So this way I would like to avoid. This on/off happens actually about in each 5 Minutes....not like 10 times each other I push it. 🙂

But I am already thinking, that maybe I just not to use this method, and do not bother with the turn on/off manually.

This turn on/off in every 3-5 Minutes should however not lock the possibility to use the function I think.

No way to make something happen after 10 people type a command.
You can't activate a source by using a command, but you can create a command which redeems a store item by using the ${redeem} variable. The store item can be any video, image or sound asset you want.

I have read several replies regarding host alerts not triggering. In other streams when someone does the same procedure to host, it says "user hosted with 1 viewer", so I think it should meet the criteria for an online channel. I have had many viewers mention to me that the hosted me and it did not alert. I'd really like to acknowledge them and their effort for helping my channel.

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Yeah, the timers don't show up when I'm live and have people chatting. But yeah, I turned off the offline one because I don't use it.

Nightbot timers work fine, it's just the SE one doesn't. The only time it worked is when I set offline to 0 chat lines and it just repeated endlessly every 10 minutes or so.

That specific one you shown me has nothing wrong with it and if the bot is responding to commands, it would also post the timers.

Well I streamed last night. I went through all the motions before starting, log in, log out, leave/join, went in and resaved the timers without changing anything. When it worked offline it would pop up in the chat with the message the streamelements is in the chat or something like that, but it's only happened once.

Okay, fair enough. I just noticed something that could be related? I did change my channel name a week or two ago (added an extra 'y') and in user management it still had the single 'y'. I just tried deleting that one and adding the updated name, but now it doesn't give me the "broadcaster" option.

I have relogged in as the new username though and that's what shows up under my profile pic.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I think you're right. It's working now offline. And if I try and send a test message with it set as "thespunkyyskunk" nothing comes up. So I think that the custom bot was definitely the issue

4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Hi! So i've been streaming on twitch now the last year and yesterday i streamed for the first time on youtube. I'm now trying to stream again on twitch, i have my obs set to twitch and my account linked. but when i click "start streaming" the stream start request box comes up for streaming on youtube... not allowing me to start the stream unless i fill out my information for the youtube stream lol. Hey! I've been using nightbot for a while now and just added streamelements as a bot as well as Nightbot.

It's working all sound but my viewers are having trouble using the !watchtime command, as every time somoene uses it, it says theyve been watching for 0 seconds.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hi guys. Today I became an affiliate on twitch allowing me to receive subscribers and bits. I had previously enabled loyalty settings in streamelements but the bits and subscriber settings are completely missing. Could you help me out on this one?

Hello gamers! I'm having issues with the TTS alert not going off for cheers of a minimum of 1 bit. My variation has the following setup:

-Variation Parameter: Amount
-Condition: At least
-Requirement amount: 1
-Chance: 100%
-TTS Enable text-to-speech is checked

I've saved the variation as well as saved all changes within the overlay but when I do a test alert I can't hear the text.

I.e. it doesn't play it. TTS works for every variation except the 1 bit.

In the Media Request settings there's an "Autoplay media" toggle at the top that you can enable.

Additionally you can use the !next command (just make sure you enable it from the default commands). You can set a moderation on this so your mods can help you play the next video if you ever decide to keep autoplay off.

Yea I’ve tried auto play toggle that doesn’t do anythin I’ll have to try next command I guess u guys use to have a desktop widget to play off of is that still a thing cause of is that still a thing

Make sure you don't have "Queue moderation" enabled. That will require you to approve every entry, even if autoplay is enabled.

Hi there! So in the last couple of days, for whatever reason, my streamelements bot has stopped working... I tried doing "part channel" and "join" again with it, but none of the timers or commands are working either :/ i'm up-to-date on all updates, and am using OBS with streamelements extension built into it

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Not sure if to ask here or elsewhere but in regards to Giveaways and default chat commands. Is there any way to customize the bot's output messages somewhere? I like the system and its overlay widget, but would really prefer to change some of the generic responses.

If you go to "Other" then "Social Media", you can connect SE with Twitter and other social medias. There you'll see the feature for SE to tweet when you're live.

It's 7 steps to do it. If it has any technical issues upon first activiation, there are more steps involved to fix it but initial configuration is:

1. Install OBS.Live
2. Login to OBS.Live
3. Click on the Hamburger menu in the activity feed.
4. Click on Stream Settings
5. Click on Custom Bot Name
6. Choose set custom bot name and log in to the account
7. Save

I think you would have to connect the headset to the PC instead. That way it can pick up your mic. You can turn on a setting that allows audio to play from OBS so you can hear game audio real time on PC

Hey so for some reason when I am on my desktop my alerts work but when I use prism or any other streaming app on mobile only twitch sound alerts will play using a stream elements overlay. Any way to fix this issue? Is it a quality issue? Do I have to decrease the any settings?

Lately, my alerts have been playing two different sounds (a generic and my uploaded sounds) during stream, but when I go into the alert box to troubleshoot and test it only plays the sound I have uploaded. Not sure what's happening.

And you don't hear the generic sound you mentioned, then the sound of the alert is coming from somewhere outside of our system and is most likely in one of your other browser sources

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

To reset goals:

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Since an update on streamelementOBS, I can't hear the music at the beginning and end of my live show. On the stream you can hear it but on my side I can't hear it anymore. I tried to touch the monitoring on & off etc.. and nothing changes.

Hello, I have a question about a count command. I know it is possible to create a command which add one each time we use it or another one which minus the step we choose. Is it possible to create a command which permit to add a chosen number. For example we have a count which name is one-shot. We have made 10 oneshots in the game so we want to add 10 to the count. Is it possible to create a command for the viewers in the chat ? !oneshot+ 10 and them the bot answer the count +10
