You can add, remove and make changes to custom commands in chat with !command/!cmd flags:

!command add (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you **to add **a new custom command
!command remove (commandname) - allows you to delete a custom command
!command edit (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to edit an existing custom command
!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used
!command options (commandname) -(flag) - allows you to change settings for an existing custom command

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Well, that's one suggestion then, unless you can do that using css or something and I'm not aware of. I know some streamers where he reads correctly using {name}{currency} instead of rushing, but they use streamlabs

When using tts and it reads the alert message ({name} {currency}{amount}!) the narrator speaks too fast, I wanted to make a short pause between the "name and amount" without showing special characters on the overlay, I can get the effect I want if I put a comma between them, but I wonder if there wasn't any special character that doesn't show in the overlay and achieve the same function

I can deal with the comma being there, is just a minor visual annoyance, but would be cool to have only the name and ammount so it looks a bit neat and having a proper cadence in the way he speaks

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

I'm trying to set up some Kappagen overlays and when I go to edit the settings for the Emotesplosions and click on "Select Emotes" it only shows me BTTV and FFZ emotes, not Twitch Global or my own personal emotes. I know it used to, I've used these settings before, but I haven't been able to find any information on if that changed or if this is an error or what. I tried reloading the page and making sure I was logged in. What's going on?

Payout failed. So the last withdrawal failed and returned to SE.Pay - this blocks withdrawals. Actually 2 of them reversed.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hi, just tried to do a mediashare stream and like the first time every video would get a second in then begin to buffer and not load. Its weird cus like the first time it worked fine for the first 10 mins then just died

even weirder is that when i look in the overlay editor it seems fine there (so in the end i window captured that and just did that)

If anyone can help, is there a reason why for my Hype Cup everything seems to work fine but not Cheers. I never enabled or edited cheers before, just accepted affiliate so turning them on and setting up. I have 2 views, an intro and main. Configuration wise it looks right as again I havent edited it, but on my Main Cheers are invisible or glitched (see center for example), on my Intro they are icons I have never seen before (robot head, flag, soccer ball?,etc see right side of image). Anyone seen this before? Am I missing something?

The partial images center associated to cheers appears to have some of the same animation as those on the right, which is why I say they are just glitched. That said, I have no idea where these are coming from and not showing the cheer bits as default configured.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.

There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hi, just tried to do a mediashare stream and like the first time every video would get a second in then begin to buffer and not load. Its weird cus like the first time it worked fine for the first 10 mins then just died

even weirder is that when i look in the overlay editor it seems fine there (so in the end i window captured that and just did that)

Would be great if someone can help cus this is the second time

Is there somewhere we can read about known issues for the Overlay creator? Because I've just spent a few hours trying to customize & test stuff for a special event and every time I go back and check the settings, it seems like it's not saving settings or variations. This is with Alerts (the Kappagen one I'm working on only triggers inconsistently so I can't even confirm it for testing purposes?). And yes I'm clicking on "Save Variation" and "Save" on the top corner.

i think the devs mentioned its a technical limitation for the a json file that stores the variations as such

meaning that if you are using variations with custom code in them, you are limited to a certain amount per overlay as that code builds up that size limitation real fast.

solution would be to make multiple overlays that would cover for example only followers, only subs, only cheers, etc.

Yeah. I'm testing in my chat and it only sometimes works. I tried restarting OBS, readding to OBS, restarting PC, refreshing page, and I tried setting it to unlimited emotes in case I was hitting the cap, can't seem to figure out why it sometimes triggers and sometimes doesn't.

Hey. is there an option to change the default message when I start a giveaway? ideally you want your main mic on the first, then a second (if you have one) on the second slot

if you cant have your main mic in obs active while you use either of them, then yes.

but you want a way to mute (like keybinds) one mic while you use the other, otherwise youll get an echo/reverb effect

while my headset is set to 2

i only use my headset mic when my main mic doesnt work,
luckily it (un)mutes when it goes from its resting position

hello everyone, i used kappagen and the alerts in streamelements, today a follow came in and you saw kappagen and heard the follow sound with me, but the alert was not played, i also sometimes have this on host. If the stream would never have the stream element page open, could it be because of that? I also had the problem with the last stream, then deleted the alerts on streamlabs obs from the sources, inserted a new browser source and copied the link again on the streamelements page, but unfortunately it didn't help. The follow is displayed in the streamelements feed, but the follow is not included in the streamlabs obs mini feed. As I said, I always closed the Streamlabs and Streamelements page during the stream

I have a default youtube playlist for songs when no requests are made and song requests are enabled for mods only.
Sometimes mods get a bit dumb and spam the playlist with their songs. Is there any way to limit the amount of songs per xxx minutes one can request the way I have it setup? Also I think if a song is requested it starts immediately killing the song on the default playlist.

Hello, so I've recently made a tweet where one of the staff Sk1ll couldn't see the video I provided because twitter lowers the quality of the video -- on the original post I spoke about how I am not going to be using Nvenc anymore because it gives pixelation on 8k bitrate ( I get quality options all the time ), and how x264 is on same bitrate and medium cpu preset did not give me the issue, the stream resolution is in 1600x900

Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

hiya my friends.. I have a twitch account and youtube account (with each account separate, don't ask haha).. .Is there a way I can "export" an overlay from my youtube account into my twitch? Don't want to have to build an overlay from scratch but I can't "duplicate" it over to twitch from Youtube because both accounts aren't linked. Thanks! ❤️

The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

/followers <duration> The duration can be in minutes, hours, days, weeks or months, like /followers 30m, /followers 2h, /followers 2d
To turn it off, you run /followersoff

The Twitch username is SkattySaffy, and also loyalty is enabled and StreamElements has been modded in the Twitch chat.
