So my friend is trying to create a bot counter widget overlay in StreamElements. I can make it perfectly fine on my end. I use the prebuilt tools under Labels>Other and it let's me change the name and name the counter with no issue. When my friend tries to do it on his end, the text does not update as he types and the counter does not read any integer at all for the default win counter or our deaths counter. No Bot custom commands make it appear or make the number adjust at all. He gave me access to create the widget in his account on my computer and I also am encountering the same issues.

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Whenever I try to update any settings for Cheer, Host, and Raid alerts, they are not reflecting in the overlay editor at all. However, Follower, Sub, and Tip alerts all update in real time when I make changes to them. I have already cleared out my browser cache completely and still experiencing the same behavior. The API only allows clients (like SE) to access channel point redemptions that they created so SE would have to create the channel point redemption (which AFAIK they don't have an option for). If you do find a solution, you'd have to create the redemption through that solutions site, not through twitch.

I haven't touched variation settings at all up to this point. When I uncheck "Pick an alert randomly when more than one matches", same thing is still happening.

[EDIT]: Actually, I think I got it. I didn't realize that Bits 1, Bits 100, and so on had their own toggles turned on by default. Turning all of those off seemed to do the trick! Sorry, I am new to SE and still learning how it all works. Thank you for the quick reply!! 🙂

2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hi there, I have a quick question on TTS with streamelements.
It appears there's some sort of filter to block out spam with TTS. This is probably from lots of 777s or LLLLLLL's, which I do appreciate. Though I cannot for the life of me find any sort of settings on this.
Probably entirely unrelated but I made sure the bot's spam filter is turned off.
As it is now, I'm testing some new overlays through the website. As I got tired of hearing about dank memes, I started just typing nonsense into the box to make sure it worked right. Sometimes it reads stuff, sometimes it doesn't and I can't figure out why. Again, I do appreciate the spam filter as 777's aren't really that funny, but I'd like to be able to control this if at all possible. Just now I was typing "little sock" and ctrl v'd it like 4 times and TTS wouldn't read it out.
I'm actually new to stream elements, I used to use streamlabs and they had a setting where you could filter out spam and/or turn cuss words into "nice" words like Unicorn. Does something like that exist for streamlements? if so I'd love to know where it is, thank you 🙂

If U do it like this, the stream hears it twice (directly threw the "output" and threw the "monitor" (Desktop-Sound)) , u have to do alerts only on monitor and mute output, because viewers listen to the whole desktop sound either way. (for a normal stream setup)

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Yeah, every time I toggle "Show Wire-frames" on, I can't move the cup or emulate events. When I toggle off, I can resume moving, emulating, etc. Which would be fine, but I just can't see the wire-frames.

This is all to create my custom hype cup, but I'm using a default one just to make sure it wasn't anything on my end.

Should I try a different browser?

For example, I have 6 icons and 6 social media names in one overlay, but the spacing is messed up. I want to perfect the spacing and copy it to other overlays. Can I get the spacing right, group them, and copy the whole group from one overlay to another? Or do I have to perfect the spacing for each overlay?

what I did when i got botted it just turn off the browser source, empty it's cache and turn it back on. it sort of skips everything (unless the follows keep on coming of course)

To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hi! I'm trying to get overlays to work on streamelements. I have selected a "super" theme and created the overlay, but now everytime I got to "my overlays" and then try to preview an overlay it goes to a blank page and if try to edit then it goes to a blank page that says "uh oh something went wrong". If I try using any of the overlay links in OBS.live, it is also blank even though the overlays have been created. I have tried using different browsers and disabling my firewall, but neither has worked. Can someone help?

Heya guys, I have a question about custom chat commands: is it possible to change the number of a variable through a command without posting anything on chat?

I did find a sorta workaround - I was using streamelements for only one counter and I wanted the chat response to appear with another custom bot

so I modded streamlabs and banned it so its chat didn't show up, entered exactly the same command in the custom bot

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Not as such, but an easy way to access the overlay editor from OBS is to open the browser source settings and click "open in SE overlay editor"

You can replay some events from the Activity Feed in OBS.Live, that'll show the alerts.

Our Dashboard and Overlay Editor are Chromium Optimized. We strongly recommend using Chrome. Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. Firefox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins is blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in an incognito tab.

The website sometimes has issues, it's highly recommended to use the MR dock in OBS.Live.

on obs.live, go to the activity feed section and the icon that looks like three bars.

Go to stream settings, then custom bot settings, make sure the bot name is set to StreamElements

but you can create an overlay on your youtube account that shows sub numbers, grab the overlay link and just add it to your obs scene when you stream on twitch

hi, I'm having an issue where an SE overlay isn't showing at all only when used with xsplit, no elements are visible and no sound alerts will play. But it behaves fine in OBS or in a preview browser window. It's also not limited to just this computer's xsplit.
