WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

"Uh oh, something went wrong" I signed up three days ago and put some time into troubleshooting and setting this up and it's useless to me. I was deciding between going with you guys based on a recommendation from a friend and going with streamlabs ... hmmm. Hi all! 🙂 When I watch other streams, I'll see a kind of moderated chat overlay. A pop up box that displays a single chat message, selected by the streamer. How are they doing that? When I search for an answer I keep getting directed to overlays that show all of the chat, but not where the streamer displays only the messages they want (one at a time).

Custom Fonts

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Click on Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Disable the link protection in your twitch dashboard. It replaces the link with stars, so our bot doesn't see the actual link and can't remove the message

You don't have to enter anything. By enabling the link protection, it will automatically block any link from your chat. And if a viewer wants to send a link, you simply use !permit @Username in chat. After that, the user has 60 seconds to post their link.

@lament blade 10 minutes of watch time is given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled to watch time to work properly.
There is no direct link between watch time and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the number of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in the chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user do not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

@topaz stream Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Incorrect. There is no way to add our overlays/alerts without something additional whether it be an actual desktop using those items or using lightstream.

As far as that revenue: Unless you got a tip from someone that's merely referring to your twitch subs/cheers.

To reset goals:

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

its says Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay. nothing about ur so called overlay @ionic kelp

Good evening. Trying to get text to animate in and out on a widget and I've run into a very strange issue.

You can see it working on my laptop with different styles being selected and it shows the animation (left) yet on my main streaming PC (right) it swaps with no animation. It's the same widget & same webpage just on two different computers.

  • "Redeeming this item shows an alert

I already searched but I only find information related to cheers/subs/tips, which is not something that I want. @wooden ferry 10 minutes of watch time is given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled to watch time to work properly.
There is no direct link between watch time and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the number of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in the chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user do not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

@fervent pewter If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Anytime I use custom bot name, the bot stops working.

@wicked iron If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@neat totem If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Is there a way to show total Sub Points in a streamelements widget? I wanted to make a progress bar for my next emote slot but it doesn't take into account T2 and T3 sub points if you use total subscribers.

Is there a way to say, add an arbitrary number to an 'amount' variable. So if it's a sub counter I can add 5 to it for each T3 sub, and that would effectively be the sub points counter if I only got T1 subs from then on?

@median olive Beyond suggesting disabling browser source hardware acceleration and confirming your overlays are indeed working, there's little else we can do as this is a local issue specific to your setup. Could be a firewall issue, blocking the pages.

@lapis sedge The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

Hello! I hope this is the right area to ask a question. I was wondering is there a way for us to use the default sound that streamelements has for its notifications (i.e. using the standard "default.ogg" for the sound as opposed to a custom sound)? I didn't wanna risk the chance of of those DMCA strikes by using a snippet from a song or something

The defaults aren't kept in the library. If you want them back, you'll need to make a new alertbox, and they'll be there.

streamelements is not connecting to chat for me. It just shows it loading and says "connecting to chat" and won't show any messages. any idea how I get it to connect? please and thank you:)

Good night everyone. I keep having black screen when I put Browser Source option. I made an overlay with alertbox in streamelements and i cant put it on in my obs. Neither the background and the alertbox are showing up. The sounds of the notifications (following, subscribing) are perfectly fine, but the image does not show. I already made several attempts to fix it, like the hardware stuff, deactivating the nvidia automatic reproduction, intel graphic settings, w7 compatibility, open as an administrator. I uninstalled, I deleted cache/user files, I also formated my pc. Can anyone help me? Im already 5 days without streaming because of this.. i went to OBS support and as the browser source shows up with the normal url from the obs, they sent me here..
