I added paypal email to streamelements to receive donations during my stream on Twitch. I received 2 donations for a total of 4 euros. Going to my PayPal I see those 4 euros with deductions and they are blocked beacause I received and email by PayPal in which explains "The money was blocked because we noticed that you are a new PayPal seller and therefore you will need time to create a positive sales history. The money will be carried over to your outstanding balance and will be available after the order is fulfilled, provided the buyer does not raise any complaints and there are no problems with your account. "
So I wonder: why was it blocked like this? It's normal? What can I do to solve the problem?
And second, is it normal for donation fees to be charged?
May I have to create an account Buisness paypal?

@lethal rune You would have to talk to paypal about that as StreamElements just reports when you get tips. But for what I can tell you tips will always have paypal fees deducted, as that's how paypal works.

For the block I think it's best to contact PayPal itself, as this seems to be their policy not SE's.
As for the fees; yes you will always pay a small fee on donations, even on a business account. If you are in the US I believe you can qualify for microtransactions, but this also needs to be set up via PayPal.

So Im not really sure where to ask this. Im having issues with an alert I am creating. I am using a Webm file as the video and the text over image function is not working. When I have it selected, the image covers the entire screen as it should, but there is no text.

There is no direct link between watch time and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the number of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in the chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user do not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

Hi, I'm a mod for a streamer and had a question for her. She changed her name a while back, and her Streamelements Leaderboard still shows her old name. Is there a way to reset that to her new name? @vital tide If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

The latest event part(left part) works and is updated instantly, but the total amount part(right part) updates only after I reset OBS, or the "session" itself

@fast pebble There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. Firefox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins is blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in an incognito tab.

I was trying to switch over from streamlabs, but streeamelements does not appear to support alerts? It has a reference to is in the dashboard, that goes to premade overlay stuff i have 0 interest in. How does one implement a follower/sub/donation alert into their stream? I see no setup/config/browser source. Streamlabs Dash doesnt require using their version of OBS, does streamelements, id rather not.

I figured out my Alerts situation, Just wish I could see how the overlay im creating in streamelements looks incorporated with my overlay in OBS. Hard to design on a blank background.

You can @hushed mist - any changes you make on the website will reflect in OBS wherever you have added the overlay.

So if you have two monitors, or just want to alt tab. You can make a change on the website and then look at OBS and adjust as needed.

You can have any and all sources visible so you can turn on your webcam, or your captures in OBS and look there as you make modifications on the website. If you ever notice a chance not immediately take effect on OBS, refresh the browser source by either right clicking > refresh source, clicking refresh source at the bottom of your preview window, or click the reload overlays button your activity feed.

We have one user (ren_pls) in a stream (nowintechnicolor) who can't redeem sounds in the store, the bot responds that they have 0 points. They do have enough points and they're able to gamble with them and use them in slots. I've reset their points on the leaderboard and manually added points to them, but they still can't redeem store items.

All donations you receive that do not get stuck on pending (in PayPal) will appear in your activity feed and anything that appears on your activity feed will appear as an alert unless you specifically choose to ignore it.

OBS.Live is not required and StreamElements does support alerts, it's the main component of the entire operation. Create an overlay, add an alertbox and add that overlay to your OBS whether that's OBS Studio or OBS.Live, is up to you. If you're trying to use StreamElements overlays on SLOBs though, we do not have the tools to troubleshoot that as SLOBs often experiences issues with this set up.

Well, multistreaming is not officially supported.

And generally thought to be a bad idea due to the fact that it's against the rules once you're partner on Twitch (and I believe affiliate as well, if I recall)

If you decide to use StreamElements on Twitch and any other platform, the overlays, bot, commands will all be completely different so you'd have to recreate it on however many platforms you decide to stream on.

But avoid multistreaming altogether, I'd say.

@long moat Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

And as far as your title, you'd need to install OBS.Live to be able to do that straight from OBS via the activity feed but no confirmation window will appear prior to starting stream to change them.

So I'm having a slight issue with stream alerts - when people raid it automatically hosts the channel you raid at the end - One of the streamers I created an overlay for is having an issue where the host alert comes up but the raid alert does not. And i tryed to part bot to see if it would fix it, but it acts like it parted but the page refreshes and its connected again, it seems like the dashboard is out of sync so it cant update any info
The alert sound issue happened mid stream during my last stream but the bot had zero activity the entire stream but worked the stream before that

@viral needle so i actually don't think there is one ( could have sworn there was) but all I can think of is to make a Store item (not merch) then make a chat command ( $(redeem itemname) is what you would put in the response area of the chat command ) with an advanced setting to set it off without needing the ! (but it would spout the redeem item after every use)

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hey, I am having trouble with my Host alert, my follower, raid etc all work when I am streaming but my host alert doesn't. When I test it it shows up in OBS. It also doesn't show in my chat (using streamelements chatbot) when someone hosts. Can anybody suggest anything to try? Thanks

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Does anyone know why sometimes the Custom Chat Widget (#widget-share message) doesn't show certain emotes? Specifically a select few BTTV and FFZ emotes. @fathom zealot There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

  • Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member

@slender bone If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

alright so my old alerts overlay wasnt working, got a new free one from streamelements and the alert on my obs is showing up cut off all the way on the right, trying to move it or reposition it through the editor doesnt change anything, resizing the source on obs doesn;t change it either :v
