I would if the button was appearing... Sorry its not just the twitch panels but also the panel where I would see the "preview" of what my stream would look like. To go even further I tried to disconnect and reconnect my twitch account and now all I get is a white screen. after hitting connect account.

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

@grim hornet Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

@lament blade you need to make your actual SE. Overlay 1920x1080 to achieve this back out of your overlay>click the 3 dots located bottom left hand of the overlay>properties> adjust overlay to 1920x1080

@vale loom If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Is there a limit how many cheer notification variations can be added? I've added quite a few and reached a point where the next one I add causes the wrong sound effects and amounts to trigger on others. After 42 variations if new one is added at the bottom it doesn't play on OBS. If it's moved up the list it messes up the sounds and amounts for every variant below it.

Hello. I am trying to make a trick or treat command. I have:

Command: !tot

However, when I do the command in chat, it pulls a single word rather than all the words from a phrase within the ' '.

How do I fix it?

Hello, apologies from just dropping in, but I've exhausted all other options. I've added the widget "Advanced Goal Widget" by MRBOOST. I configured the widget to track followers and subscriber goals (for twitch). The follower goal updates fine, with no issues, However the subscriber goal does not update. It will not move from 0. I noticed in the "Widget Data" portion, in the "Totals" page, the "Total subscribers" value is 0. I noted the "Goals" tab does show 26 subscribers.

Having a bizarre issue with contests... i set the contest at 5 minutes, but then the timer on stream starts at 5:41 and ends at 0:41, so it's throwing off everyone's perception of when the contest actually ends. Is there a reason for this?

I stream on Twitch and I had one successful stream on OBS previously but now whenever I click "Start Streaming" it takes me to "Start Streaming on YouTube" so I cannot go live on Twitch. I changed the streaming service to Twitch in settings but it still doesn't let me go live on Twitch. Is there a way to fix this?

Yesterday I picked up my new PC and have imported everything across, I even streamed last night but my bot (stream elements) has reverted to default for some reason and is no longer using my twitch bot account in chat. Hello I started streaming a few days ago and I'm having trouble with alerts. I set up custom alerts in the overlay editor and copied the url into a browser source in obs, but even though the sounds play the visual alerts don't show up. Also when I press "preview in another tab" in the editor it just goes to a blank white page (I don't know if that's meant to happen but it feels like it shouldn't).

hi, this seems to be a regular occurance. chat stats seems to reset my name every 24 hours as have page 404 on my chat stats again and nothing is showing on the stream elements leader board widget. i've already messaged about this and every time its been updated it reverts back to the 404 error. now its stopped working again and been like this for a week.

is there any way to make this permanent a permanent fix?

AyooPeeJay, I think I might have found one indication of the issue that's causing this - copied to a new layout, manged to add one extra! So 43. Can't add the 44th. What I noticed, though, is that when I added the 44th and pressed SAVE the page forever keeps saying Saving... at the bottom right. So what it seems like is that while I can add more variations the overlay doesn't want to save.

On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Here's an interesting one. My stream elements alerts (follows, raids, subs, etc) that has sound associated with them will periodically cause my audio to cut out completely after the alert fires.

I am streaming through OBS studio running on a 2019 Macbook Pro. I am using a Presonus 1818VSL as my audio interface.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, I am all ears. Thanks.

Hey there! I have a question about the Store Redemption alert box. I have the overlay set up, and everything is fine. However, one of my store items shows a gif. I have the alert set to only show for 5 seconds, however the gif store alerts last for around 10 seconds instead. Any ideas how to fix?
A little more information: My sound effects that I've added with the gif is only 4 seconds long, which is why I set the alert to 4 seconds. However the audio will play, run out, and the gif will run another 4-5 seconds

Does anyone know the turn around time when - STAFF - get to us.

Hello StreamElements! I am having trouble connecting my bot to the OBS live via the "Connect Custom Bot Account"

It has all been working fine, but recently Twitch has giving me a lifetime subscription to my bot and since then it hasnt connected. I would connect log in and authorize it and the bot doesnt appear in the drop down. I haven't had this problem before until after Twitch changed my bot account. Any suggestions and help would be very much appreciated.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

This is going to sound really dumb. I used to have a "Stream info" section, but it is no longer there. i was in the hospital for a few days and my wife said my daughter was messing around on my pc. I can no longer find the "Stream info". I have looked in both tools and view but can't seem to find it. If anyone can help me with where to find it to add it back, I would really appreciate it. Sorry again for the dumb question

There specifically I've tested all the modules, the F5 trick sadly works for them all, make sure you're on Chrome, and F5 after the change

I have to add new message in order for the changes to take effect, and that is not an option on the last two. F5 without adding a new message and deleting it doesn't work, it reverts when I refresh

@warm hemlock If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

hey, just moved across to streamelements and getting things setup. I've added an alert box to obs using the browser source. but when i do a test alert it doesnt show in obs. does it only show in obs when you are actually live? or should it be showing when offline and testing too? any help appreciated 🙂

10 minutes of watch time is given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled to watch time to work properly.
There is no direct link between watch time and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the number of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in the chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user do not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

hello everyone.
I got an issue with the Extra Life Donation-Alerts.
Somehow, the Alert-Box for Extra Life (the integrated one in the Overlays) does not show the donation amount in the message.
The Tracker-Bars work just fine, the Alerts show up, they also show the username of the Donor, but the amount they donated is always $undefined.
I already tried out changing the variables from {donationAmount} (which is standard if i remember correctly, otherwhise it is vice versa) to {amount} (which is given in the "tooltip" in the overlay editor), but neither of it works (both get displayed as $undefined in the actual alert)

Does anyone know if there will updates or improvements to the playing VODs on stream overlay? I really like the overlay but it has issues. Namely, only 2 vids per overlay, it also claims 2 audio files per overlay too but the second one never seems to work (this is on all 4 of the VOD overlays I'm currently using), and lastly there is no option to let all viewers activate the VOD commands, only Streamer/Mods/VIPs. It would be good if I could define some commands to be used by anyone, and some can be used only by subscribers. Long post sorry

I am having trouble and have been spending hours trying to get a custom bot into the channel. It was all working for about a year now but recently the bot decided not to have a custom name. I've logged in and out of everything, restarted PC, reinstalled OBS live. No matter what I do it won't let me select my custom bot. Can someone please help with this issue?

3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)

Hey, i have problem with Ground Control. When i go and open it it blacksout one of my screens for 2-3sec and then it is on task bar, but i can't see it anywhere, nor can i move it. It always looks like it is on left side from my main monitor but i have secondary monitor on right side. Did this happen to someone else?

Hey all. I used the alertbox widget on StreamElements' website to make an alertbox in my stream (using OBS Studio). When I copy the browser source link, and paste it into OBS as a browser source, all that happens is that I hear the noise, but there's no alert on the screen that is displayed.

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

@summer forge reason why you can't see fullHD is that. When there is little-to-no coding power left on servers, you will get worst one possible, in order to save more for Partners and Affiliates. Just stream longer, at some point during your stream, more coding power may be given to you.

@quick onyx Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Hi Guys,
this is my 3rd attempt to get help.
I cannot play any sounds via the sound shop or the comands. While everyone else in the stream can. The message that I get after "buying" is positive from SE.
with the first test stream everything still worked. I'm in the stream as a mod while everyone else is there as a viewer, shouldn't really matter.

I have a question about the chat commands function. I understand ${1:} takes the input of someone, after the command. But let's say they just use the command, and don't include an input. Is there a way to say something like "You tried to do X, but you didn't include an input! Try using !command <input>" or something like that?

@worldly marten So I figured it out. Streamer has tipping moderation on - this affects ALL alerts.
That being said, the default profanity filter we have is catching your name as profanity and skipping your alerts entirely

Having an issue where store redeems are functioning perfectly fine but no text from the bot in chat. Text commands are also not working. Tried parting and rejoining the bot also muting and unmuting. Bot has a custom name through obs.live and the twitch account for the bot name is fine. Scratching my head trying to figure out why it won't work in chat. I am a supermod for the channel I'm SE not channel owner. Any advice would be awesome.

@autumn steppe If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

coming back to extra life, i just saw another strange thing going on. this time, the trackers seem to stop working from time to time. At least once, the tracker for my personal participant-ID, and a team-ID (in which i am not a member, but i wanna still track it) have kind of "reset" to not displaying any amount of progress (not 0). This happened for team and user seperately/independent of each other.

Still the same issue, as far as I can see. It doesn't "wake up" for 2-3 emotes, and then wakes up and shows everything. Then, if no emotes are in chat for an x amount of time it goes to sleep again.

@whole oriole If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Issue: Due to the fact that viewers need to log in to tip when they try to visit https://streamelements.com/creechamp/leaderboard or https://streamelements.com/creechamp/commands they are immediately redirected https://streamelements.com/dashboard/ to look at their own "dashboard" even though they don't stream. So looking at commands or leader boards becomes a hassle as they have to click back. Multiple viewers have expressed their frustration with this.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member

Anyone knowledgeable about the widget size limitations in the layout editor? AyooPeeJay was helping me yesterday with an issue where the layout would hang on "Saving..." when I reached a certain number of cheer notification variations. It's a Nerd or Die widget. I've gone through tech support with them and what we've established is that, according to NoD, there is some sort of widget size limitation that prevents it from saving and their code is fine. I can explain in more detail how it was tested. Edit: according to them, the size limitation is on your side and that is what's causing the layer not saving.

There are currently no plans to increase the memory limit. The issue only arises with custom alerts with significant custom coding. While you could probably reach the limit with default alerts and variations, it'd take a very long time.

Question to confirm something - in the alert box notification variations, when multiple variants match the notification's condition (i.e. a Prime sub 3 months in a row is both a resub and a Prime sub at the same time), does the alert box prioritise according to the order in the variations list, since items on it can be dragged around? Assuming the "Pick alert randomly when more than one matches " is leaved unticked.

So, if someone resubs with Prime for the third month, it will trigger a Prime notification if that's higher up the list or a Resub notification if that is located above the Prime.

I've got many questions since I've started using your platform recently. I hope I'm not making it too difficult. This one is also about subs, this time in the Activity Feed: 1) Is there a way to have the gifted subs expanded by default, so I don't have to Alt+Tab out of the game to find out who were the lucky ones to receive subs? 2) Once I've Alt+Tabbed and expanded the gift info, I can't see which gift recipients are new subs and who have received a resub. From a community building perspective, it's important to greet the newcomers that have received a gift and are on their 1st month. Both of these options were something that were "on" by default in SLOBS.

@prisma nebula There is no way to do so yourself. Partners automatically get the options. Affiliates get remaining slots when applicable by Twitch's systems. And then if no Affiliates need it, remaining streamers may get it.
