@plush robin that's entirely managed from within the editor. It's assumed you're using the alert to fit the preview and mess with your placement from the editor.

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

@wooden quest If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Custom Fonts

Steps:

Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
Click on Enable Custom Font
Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Hi, I've got a couple of questions about SE.Pay: 1) When activated, is the card payment option available only for a single country residents where my bank account is located? (For example, my bank account is in US, so would the card payments be only for US viewers?) 2) Do the payment options differ, depending on the location of the bank account on file? For example, if I have the US bank account, viewers only get a credit card option and if I have a UK bank account, viewers might get a debit card and some alternate options?

My stream elements keeps bombing. I can get into my dash board. The data however doesnt load and if I try and edit an overlay it gets stuck on loading (left it for literally 6 hours without it loading in). The way I temporarily fixed this was clearing my cookies and cache however this obviously logs me out of everything and this fix only works for a short time, had to do this 3 times on Saturday and now again it is doing it. Im using google chrome as my browser. Does anyone know why this happens or have a better solution?

Hello, one of my regular viewers cannot redeem loyalty points through the stream store. They recently changed their Twitch username. I transferred the points from their old name to the new one in the loyalty leaderboard, so they have more than enough points, but every time they attempt to redeem anything the bot replies that they have insufficient points. Other viewers have no problems redeeming points. Am I doing something wrong?

There is no automatic greeting function in the StreamElements bot, as we have determined them to be counterproductive and more likely to drive people off. The minimum required action for a response is a follow.

@main fossil If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

hi! i'm currently having some trouble with media request. the first problem is that the video does not auto play, even though the auto play setting is enabled. so i have to open browser and press play everytime a song ends. second, i cant hear the songs on obs even though i added the media share widget. i also would like to know if i have to let the browser open if i want to hear the music/make media request work properly

@glacial whale Auto play means it will continue playing through the queue after you've pressed play once. It will not just suddenly start playing on its own if a request comes in.

Hey guys so Im new to streaming and have been using OBS unfortunately my streams have been pretty laggy with frame drops and the quality is pretty bad even for 720 fps. Is their set recommendations for streams running from a single computer. The reccomeded settings are 1080 p 60 fps

Extra Info : AMD rx 590 graphics card, Ryzan 5 2600 X and 92Mbps upload

if you are finding that you are actually counting dropped frames. look up your bandwidth and adjust bitrate

that shouldn't be the case. Media request should be a dockable widget that can play a queue based on what is requested into it

Honestly if it says you are live on OBS you should assume you are live, but maybe you signed in using two accounts or something.

@glacial whale so if you hit the Play button on the media request widget you'll get your pc to pull up that song on youtube and play the video in the background. the only time the video should be visible on screen is when you toggle it on, and have the media request overlay in the given scene.

@amber finch so, heres the widget with both 'video on' and 'vide off' toggled. on both the video still plays, i want to know if theres a way i can disable the video and just hear the audio, so it uses less of my cpu. thats just a small detail tho

@sudden sinew Head on over to the website for OBS live, and download the streamelements version of OBS, then head on over to your streamelements website, look up the browser source link for media requests through the various tabs. then, sign into OBS live as your linked twitch account and finally add the browser source to your scenes.

@balmy falcon If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

My overlays wont load I know clearing my cache fixes it, however this is now the 6th time in 4 days. Does anyone know why this could be happening or another way besides clearing cache to fix it. Its becoming quiet tiresome to have to resync and log back into everything each time

Hey there! I'm currently in the editor trying to edit an overlay I pulled from the themes tab. I'm trying to change the layer to the name/twitter/steam account by editing the corresponding layer but the change is not reflected on the overlay.

Hello. Since using StreamElements my stream is super laggy. Our internet connection has been a bit dodgey but its sorted now. I streamed a megadrive game and had huge lag. I have looked through the FAQ. It's not an OBS issue, as when I stream using normal OBS it was fine. Any suggestions? (Other than not using SE)

Hi! What would be the best way to resize an item in the Layout Editor? Just changing the pixels in "Position, size and style" changes the potential area the object can take, however the object still remains the original size in that area. When editing in OBS previously, I could just drag to stretch/resize objects, SE layout editor seems to always just keep the original size of the object unless I redesign it completely...

Edit: Seems like some objects are "locked", for example, a follow animation.

Edit2: It seems to be the case only with custom CSS items - I'm guessing if there is a custom code involved, the simple "drag-to-resize" function stops working and the size changes can only be done in the code?

Ground Control still has it but it has to be manually enabled, that's why we needed your name. Please restart Ground Control, you should see the option now

You can change title and category in OBS and in activity feed settings before you go live.

And if that doesn't work then you have to go to twitch dashboard or change it from command ⬇️

There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings) or with the Twitch dashboard: https://dashboard.twitch.tv/stream-manager

hello all, so I've been going back and forth all over the interwebs to try and get this sorted but I cant do it by myself I'm sorry. Ive created my alert box on streamelements.com and paste it in as a browser source in OBS, when I emulate the alert on the streamelements website it doesnt show in OBS, its just a black screen, am I doing something wrong? Is the emulate button only for the alertbox editor?
