I'm working on some custom commands for the StreamElements chat bot but I'm having difficulty doing some more complex things.
My main goal is making a command that shows a random response out of a certain predefined set, but the character limit is preventing me from writing the things I want.
So I tried to get creative and split the command into several ones, with the idea of making the main command send a whisper to the bot itself to run a random command out of the ones I split it to.
I.e. instead of "!a" showing a random response out of 15 things, it'll whisper "!a1" "!a2" or "!a3" to itself and each of those will say one of five random things to the chat.
I encountered two problems with this approach:
- /commands don't seem to work. It just types "/w StreamElements !a1" in the chat.
- Whispering commands to the bot doesn't work in general.
Any idea how I can make any of this work?
I'm open to all suggestions and any help will be much appreciated. 🙂

Sorry, having a bit of an issue renaming the bot and I had it done successfully before but now I don't have that option. Streamelements is a mod and in chat, with the overlays active.

There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

Output resolution in OBS is 1080p, Overlay is 1080p but when overlay added as source in OBS, it just doesn't match up at all? Fior example if I put image in middle of overlay on StreamElements website, it's like far flung off to somewhere else in actual OBS even when set to "Fit to screen" in OBS.

Overlay resolutions in the editor are 1920 x 1080 by default. Are you running a non-standard resolution on your monitor?

The monitor is 1440p so the canvas in the OBS setting is that but the output is 1080p.
I tried setting the overlay to 1440p to see if that made things line up properly but didn't seem to help.

Okay, so in your list of overlays inside your StreamElements dashboard rename the overlay and select 1440p as your resolution for your overlay
Then scale your graphics accordingly in the editor and set your canvas to 1440p in OBS, but output resolution to 1080p

- Subscriber count will count the Channel and any other permanent sub you may have (+1 or +2 or +3 on top).
We are working on fixing both issues, but there is no ETA.
OBS.Live still has Custom Bot name working fine in it.

@chrome folio yes its an overlay. I am using the "recent cheers" widget, and I have the scrolling enabled set to a a speed of 3. This used to work all the time but only recently I noticed it scrolls for a few mins and then stops, I have to hide and unhide the browser source in streamlabs obs in order to get it to scroll again.

It seems to be a secondary condition.
The way it seems to be working for this situation atm is.
Alert 1 for 50+ isn't added to the lot to be randomized until the bit amount is 50 or above.
At which point it randomly chooses between the Alert 1 and Alert 2... but below 50 bits the only possible option is Alert 2.
Which to be honest is not how I was hoping it'd work... so I'll just to figure out a work around

But the commands I have been troubleshooting don't require mod status. The commands work if I type them in under my streamer account or when a non-modded friend types the commands into chat. For whatever reason Stream Elements is ignoring my bot account

i'm having some trouble while setting up kappagen and adding a custom font for chat. My emotes in kappagen i want to load in one place exactly everytime, but it always shifts the location around, even though i have the window size for the widget scaled down to fit the emote size and "use entire screen for emotes" is unchecked - any ideas? as for custom fonts, i just can't find the proper way to enter them and find the exact name - are only some font filetypes supported?

Steps:
- Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
- In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
- Enable Custom Font
- Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)
Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

🔹 Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again with by connecting with Twitch.
🔹 On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select "Join" under bot settings. If it says "Part" select that and then select "Join" to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
🔹 Post your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

sometimes it gets a lil iffy when redoing the animations settings, try setting it to the ones you want then save it then hit the exit button and return bacc into the overlay and toggle the emulator and see if it does it

Hi all! I have a question that I can't seem to wrap my head around. I am lucky enough to have some people donate on my Twitch Stream, and through my StreamElements tipping page the person donating can choose from a number of currencies. One viewer that tried to donate in Czech Korunas was automatically turned into USD? I have changed so that my PayPal accept all types of currencies that PayPal supports (which includes CZK) but I think that the problem is not PayPal, I think the automatic conversion from (in this case CZK to USD) is done by StreamElements? Anyone have any thoughts on this? My ultimate goal is for all viewers to donate in what ever currency they want, so that it also pops up on stream as the currency that they donated in and not just USD automatically. Thanks in advance for any answers 🙂 ❤️

@zenith widget yes and it worked back then, but for some reason it isn't now, we worked out the removing cache and cookies worked, but this time it doesn't do it at all, it's like a weird cycle. Try to use that drop down to go on my friends account > Pushes me into 'welcome back' screen > Clear cache and cookies / then repeat that cycle

@zenith widget - well that's what I tried to find out as well. When people choose a currency within the tip tab and then gets re-directed to PayPal to sign in, after the sign in the "Basket" with the donation in PayPal shows USD? So it seems that PayPal does not get any information about that the donator chose antoher curreny?

@worthy vigil I somehow managed to get my own account to act the same way - meaning, when i try to go to my own dashboard to redirect me to the main page and not show me the dashboard
so i used the link above and logged out and logged back in
and its fine now
I'll try something if I can reproduce and see if I can get the devs to look into it

@zenith widget ok so I tested on my own. So I choose CZK within the tipping page, then I get RE-DIRECTED to PayPal and then when PayPal asks me to confirm the payment it shows as USB. Maybe the chosing in CZK within the tipping page just shows a conversion rate? Not a actual choice of a currency to pay with?

@scenic remnant From what I know, once logged into PayPal, it will show you a conversion rate, yes - for example my currency is BGN and paypal knows my card is providing BGN and converts it to USD with a shown rate.
So Im going to tip you in USD, but converted from BGN and in the revenue history page it should show the amount I chose from the tipping page and currency i chose
as in, 10BGN, but in PayPal you would receive 7USD or something like that

@scenic remnant I don't want to sound rude, but when seeing 3 pings from the channel it gives me the impression that 3 different people have pinged me and there might be an emergency. 1 ping is enough and you have my entire attention as there is no one else.
I tag people just so that they know which message is for them, unless you are the last person who wrote.

@zenith widget - the problem was that I only had USD as a currency within PayPal. You have the possibility to add more currencies if you'd like from the settings. Problem solved! 😄 ❤️
