if you're just starting out i suggest standard as it has the most farm land and is generally quite easy to work with

if you're more experienced with certain mechanics of the game you might want to try out forest (has extra forageables and hardwood sources), or if you want to try some spice you can try hilltop or wilderness

beach is also good for space but be warned you can't use sprinklers on most of your farm

though it has supply crates from time to time which i heard is pretty OP

If you're not too worried about min-maxing the funds and looking for some quick pocket change, Smoked Fish can also count for that bonus on top of the mults that he Fisher/Angler professions give

It's decent pocket change, but on non-river farms can be a bit of a workup due to the initial price/craft of smokers

You can also look at Fish Ponds to reuse those preserves jars once you move up to Kegs instead for your fruits.

it's a lot of space and doesn't do much by itself - quarry takes a looong time to spawn in rocks, and you can just buy the ores or go mining, so the value is limited. On the flip side...... it's a loooooooot of space.
