sorry i just saw this, you can use all bobbers/tackles (including sonar) with a iridium rod! you can buy the rod from willy's shop after you reach level 6 fishing, then you can just attach the bobber to the rod like how you use bait there are many that are useful it would be nice to try a few out, e.g.

sorry just saw this and saw that others have helped you with your question and gave you more tips, happy chicken farming!
for beach farm the only thing different about the sand is that you can't put sprinklers on the sand, the other stuff grows normally there
brown chicken makes brown eggs, white chicken makes white eggs
in the next coop upgrade, it comes with an incubator so if you came across other eggs you can use that to hatch more chickens etc.

Why would you choose beach farm then?

No sprinklers is awful, like you’ll be spending half your day watering until you get y’know what

And even then you’re quite likit till y’know what part 2

it's in theory supposed to be a 'challenge' farm
you get supply crates washed on shore from time to time w/ e.g. stuff like cherry bombs/coffee (it's nice for runs that e.g. no energy use in ur ruleset), ocean fishing, as well as beach forageables
its layout is also quite spacious/open so when i play beach farm i often run e.g. a beer empire on the sandy area (wheat only takes 4 days and it rains enough across summer/fall so no need to water), do more ponds and assorted farm buildings
it's also just such a pretty farm
