you should go for inventory upgrade its much more comfortable mining with a bigger bag

It depends on you. If you want to finish the Community Center quickly, it's better to upgrade the building. If the storage feels heavy, buy inventory. If you want to speedrun with crafting materials, it's better to upgrade the tools.

If you make it a top priority, make sure your pickaxe is leveled up nicely, and have a decent sword. Since the lower levels are a bit more difficult. Also, make sure you're focusing on other things as well while you're doing that!

As a regular sell crop, no. If you have kegs though it's actually a pretty decent crop since you can make Beer with it to sell.

It's not the best g/day or anything. But the seeds are extremely cheap, they grow fast, and keg fast, making the return very quick and decent.

Less artifacts directly, more about geodes to get unique minerals. Farm the 15-29ish set and look for the little moles to maximize odds of geodes, then farm ice and lava geodes on their respective floors.

If you have access to the desert and skull caverns || You can get a ton of bone related artifacts on a dinosaur infested floor, and trade 5 omni geodes for an artifact trove that when cracked always one of 28 artifacts ||

as for the plant itself, as long as you have scarecrows and lightning rods, tehre's no reason to wait planting it unless it's already too late in the season (aka, Fall). Start getting them now so you have some saved up for when you get the seed maker.

Hi all! 👋 My kids have all been into Stardew Valley for a while, and they finally convinced me to also get a copy of it on my Switch so all of us could play together on one farm. I'm hooked! But waiting until 1.6 hits the Switch before starting my own solo farm 😅

Yep! If they'd gotten me into it any sooner I probably wouldn't have been able to resist the temptation 😂 but it comes right after the new Zelda got released, so I have that to tide me over if nothing else 😅 still, I'm kind of enjoying playing with them and getting this experience of seeing how to play the game and fiddling with stuff so I'm not going in completely blind on my solo playthrough

Though some parts of multiplayer are...I don't want to say frustrating? But that time continues passing when I'm futzing with inventory or trying to figure out what needs to go in what chest or given to what person/place is...well, it's sometimes stress-inducing

That's understandable, it is a bit more stressful multiplayer in my opinion. But it all pays off in the end once you get the hang of it! Glad you could try stardew valley out, it really is a good game!

For sure, and I'm still enjoying it! Though I sometimes have to just ride it out and let my kids do things that I don't think are wise. It's more about them having fun and us doing something as a family 🥰 and I just know when I get to my single-player farm I'll be able to do it the way I want

also it feels like the first spring is a bit more stressful because money just always seems to be in short supply compared to all the stuff we need to get!

and I still haven't quite figured out how to balance managing the farm and keeping up with the villagers, much less also bringing in foraging and mining when I do them in single player!

(One of my kids loves the mine and they just basically do that every day, so I've barely touched it)

Multiplayer is a little more rough in that regard - Since backpacks and tool upgrades are individual, you end up shoving a lot more costs into those

And getting the kids to agree on and follow a chest organizational scheme is a challenge! 😂

With tools, at least, we do a fair bit of swapping. So like, the kid who's always in the mines hands off their watering can, and we can get that upgraded without the person taking care of watering crops being without the can for the day. And likewise, one of us can sacrifice our pickaxe for a bit because everyone else is around to pitch in on using one, and the kid in the mines never goes without, if that makes sense?

One of the things I kinda am still trying to figure out, in prepping for my solo playthrough, is how much of anything I want to keep in chests at all, to be honest. Particularly of any given quality level. Like, if normal-quality stuff is just as good as high-quality stuff for artisan-ing and cooking, then I want some normal-quality stuff around, right? But I also want high-quality stuff around for gift-giving, too? Balancing that feels tricky to me

As a whole - Unless you have plans to use them, I'd keep most gems (Other then quartz, earth crystals, and jade) at a limit of 5ish. And the higher quality crops are always good for extra cash

Why quartz, earth crystals, and jade specifically? Are they used in more crafting things?

Quartz is beneficial in crafting certain recipes that help out a lot. "Refined quartz" is made putting quartz in a furnace. It can be used to make sprinklers which save energy a lot when it comes to watering crops

Hello! New farmer here. Slightly confused about star rating of crops. If I put a gold star crop in a keg and then place it in a cask, does the star rating still matter? Or does it just start at average quality?

Depending on the crop. When it comes to blueberries and cranberries that you accumulate a lot of, I suggest selling. Better crops like pumpkins, melons would be nice to put in a keg or to be sold outright. Most people use ||ancient fruit or starfruit|| to put in their kegs which gives amazing amounts of money

Part of it is again, playing on multiplayer, so I always feel like I need to Go Go Go so I don't linger to look over options

And like, in real life at the end of the day I look over my schedule for the next day and plan out what I'm going to do and such. And the times I've felt best about days in Stardew are when we resumed from a meal/day break, so I had a little time to think about what I was going to do on my next day. But playing in multiplayer, I don't feel like I get that moment at the end of the previous day, like I'd want, to just...sort out my inventory with a chest, figure out what I want to do, how I'm going to route for villagers, etc. etc. Even though we get a pause with the sell screen, my kids are...insistent...that we keep going.

But, I enjoy this game because even though the days are slow you can take as long as you want. There is no time-limit to what is needed to do. My first ever run years ago it took me forever to finish the community center. I was doing things that weren't really "important" but what I enjoyed which was running around doing absolutely nothing

Also, you passing out at 2am isn't that huge of a deal, you do lose money but no items. So if you are in an area where you don't think you'll make it to bed it's fine. When i'm mining I tend to stay there until 2am so I can get to as many floors as possible
