spoilers (for 1.6): || ok so with books you can read them to get more experience in an area. the specific one you posted the monster compendium gives you experience in monster fighting I think. Once you read a book, or you level up completely in a skill, you can trade with the bookseller. You can sell/buy books from him before getting full level on a skill, but its a good way to level up on something you're not at level 10 yet. You can read them by pressing whatever action button is on your device. I play on my laptop so its the X key. I personally like to keep whatever books Ive already read and then wait for the bookseller to trade in for like materials and stuff. You can trade in books for things like hardwood or a slime egg press, etc. It just kinda depends on the day that hes there ig. ||

Forage has a chance to spawn each day. It RESETS on Sundays though (clears the map then starts respawning). So forage on Friday or Saturday
