If coincidentally anyone knows what causes/how to fix some of the less important warnings (like invalid recipes and such) let me know, but they dont really cause me much trouble so its not that important and such

I can't really point to anything specific (and I'm sure there are far more experienced peeps around who will take a look!) except that I did face similar lag at one point in my previous playthrough (that was very artisan machine heavy!) and after tinkering and isolating things 50/50 (which was a paaain) I found that PFM/JA (PFM machines) and PFM automate were the culprit for me, I ended up removing anything that was PFM/JA content, especially if it was not updated after 1.6 was released. Maybe trying without those to eliminate them as a possible cause could be one potential troubleshooting option?
Removing everything PFM would probably break my save at this point 😅 But will keep it in mind for future saves

If you are already eyeballs deep in PFM on your save then you are most likely correct, ooops!
Wishing you luck though, lag is a tricky beastie to track down sometimes
CP works at three times
On time changed, on player warped
And at the start of the day
CP mods have to specify the time interval for checks
So the first thing I do for lag is disable as many CP time change patches as possible
But yeah, there are a lot of sources of lag
Hard to figure out
Profiler doesn't get most of it imo

Hey ! Sorry for the disruption, I have no problems with mods, just one question
I have 2 different saves in Stardew Valley, the first one, I used it when I discovered the game for the first time, I used it and slowly begin to use mods (I did not used all of them (1st screen) when I began playing), the second, I started it recently (a few days ago) and to have that feeling when you discover for the first time a movie / read a book for the first time (I don't have one word to describe it, sorry ;~;) I've add a few mods (2nd screen) and some of them may create issues with the save if I remove them. (the SMAPI's launcher told me so when I launched the game by using the mods (sorry if I'm not clear enough ^^")
Since I've added those mods (the ones in the 2nd screen), I didn't play with my first save at all, and I wonder, if I remove the mods "dedicated" to the second save, would it impact the first save ?
Sorry if I'm not really understandable, English is not my native language and even in French (my native language) I think I wouldn't explain my question without struggling (The fact that I overthink about if I use the right word doesn't help me at all) ^^"

Most mods are safe to add in the middle of a playthrough, with these caveats
- map changing mods may need reset terrain features, to clear out trees/bushes in weird spots
- new npc may behave oddly on day one, they should be fine starting from day 2
- certain mods are designed with new save in mind for story/progression reasons, SVE is one of these

Sorry for the super late answer, was scrolling through messages since I went to bed and saw yours got missed. It's either a recolor missing 1.6 tiles or you have an older mods that's overriding part of the spritesheet
- DaisyNiko's Earthy Interiors -> Partial Complement
- Vibrant Pastoral Recolor (VPR) -> Temporary fix for 1.6
- Simple Foilage -> Unofficial Fix 1.6
- Starblue Valley -> Unofficial 1.6 Note: do not use with original mod

Regarding SVE. When removing the fences on grandpas farm, they just get cut off at the bottom. is there a way to remove that?
I wanted to place a tree on the x to block the view, but I am not able to place saplings under that red line. any idea on how I can do that with mods or console?

The force place function is especially amazing, made me able to place stuff over other stuff that is normally blocked, really nice for moving farm buildings also
Spacecore shouldn't have any major conflicts (It's pretty much used in every major modlist) - Can you post a new log?

If you have a modified Nintendo Switch running custom firmware, there are some limited options for you to use mods.
Option 1:
- Install Ubuntu
- Get 1.5.4 Stardew Valley via DepotDownloader.
- Follow the this guide.
- Install SMAPI (version 3.12.8)
- Run it via
mono StardewModdingAPI - You can use most 1.5.4 mods, but some won't work (such as Custom Music)
Option 2 - Place XNB mods in
sdmc:/atmosphere/contents/0100E65002BB8000/romfs/Content/, as if this was your game's content folder (as in.../romfs/Content/Characters/Caroline.xnb) - This limits you to XNB mods and outside of simple retextures will largely break by 1.6. See here for details.
Option 3
Basically the same as Option 2, but with a mod manager for easier management. - Install iridium https://github.com/AnotherPillow/Iridium, instructions in the README.
- Place your XNB mods in
sdmc:/switch/Iridium/Mods/[MOD NAME]/as if this folder was the Content folder of the game. - Same restrictions and issues as Option 2, but you can turn mods off and on and know what mods are controlling which files.
Some content packs haven't been updated for Stardew Valley 1.6.0. Content Patcher will try to auto-migrate them, but compatibility isn't guaranteed.
If so, you can ignore it

Yes, the mod has a reset function. Dont know it out of my head, but if you read the mod page it should say so there! And I think the settings of the mod let you specify which keybindings you want to use
They should be loading - Some of them might be options in the config menu, so check there. I don't see any reason they aren't loading

A lot more mods than that are not loading. Hm. I think someone really needs to look closer at my mods folder to help me. >.<
some of those mods are extremely old, you're better off finding replacements for them - overgrown fairy buildings are from 2021 and don't appear to be updated for 1.6, which changes the building tilesheets a bit.

As far as I can tell, yes, none of these are loading, and Stardew Valley expanded and grandpa's farm are two others I can tell aren't working.

Supposedly most of Overgrown Fairy Buildings is 1.6 compatible (Just the slime hutch that is broken)
Just to be sure, are you 100% sure you're launching SMAPI and not Vanilla accidentally? Stardew Valley Expanded should be a real obvious one if there are issues

Grandpa's Farm overwrites the first vanilla farm IIRC

If your save wasn't on the first farm, you wouldn't notice Grandpa's Farm either then, but you should have still seen the changed SVE maps

That sounds like Steam Cloud is attempting to restore the save game - Are you progressing with Steam closed, then opening Steam afterwards?
Heyy, I don't know what's going on but my my Stardew won't load. It automatically closes before I even get to the start screen. I updated a couple of mods today but I'm not sure which one is giving me trouble. I've got the SMAPI log, too, but I'm not good at telling what's what adl;skfjdsa But!! Well, a good place to start would be removing your rather impressive amount of broken mods.
Read through the bit in red at the beginning of your log, it'll tell you what's broken and why
TMXL and Extra Map Layers, at a minimum need to go, they are built into the base game now
But yes, removing or updating as many of your red error mods as possible would be the first step

Some of your mods also aren't loading in bc you have multiple copies of them, so be sure to read the errors instead of just deleting everything in red
If it still crashes after you've eliminated everything broken, return here and we can start really troubleshooting

If you have a backup of the save that you're trying to load, copy it into your saves folder while the game is open (like on the main menu). That'll avoid any issue with cloud save
If you don't have a backup, I don't think there's any known way currently to get the save back once Steam Cloud has restored the wrong copy
Though SMAPIs savebackup mod may have saved some progress because the backups are outside of Steam's cloud storage - worth checking at least
Those backups are in your Stardew Valley directory

Please reset your game files. This will fix any broken game files, but won't affect your save files or mods.
If you use XNB mods, see using XNB mods for more info about why they're deprecated, and a list of Content Patcher alternatives.
try resetting your game files
You can add it to a vanilla file, and most mods can be removed without permanent damage, but probably better to keep a vanilla / modded save separate
If you plan to go back to vanilla at some point

extract it somewhere outside of the game's directory, and run the executable inside. it should detect your game folder and the rest should be straightforward

Hmm - I don't see any mods that would be affecting your cabin in your modlist - No obvious errors other then Farm Type Manager freaking out about something.

My first thought would be to try and restore the previous day from the backup the game creates, see whether it'll keep happening, or if there's something weird about that particular day

Depends on the mods - Larger content mods like Stardew Valley Expanded will leave trees and stuff in the wrong place when you revert back
I fixed it somehow lol I restarted my computer so it most likely had something to do with that

In which case yes, they should be safe to remove. And if it crashes, you can figure out which mod broke and see if there's a better way to remove it.

You can only adjust Stardew's resolution when it's in full fullscreen I believe, Windowed Borderless (the default) uses your monitor resolution

Where did you install Stardew from
You only have to worry about your save file when removing a mod, and even then it usually won't be corrupted, just have bit of extra unused info

what do you mean by export save?
I take a modded save, and then put it on Stardew Valley vanilla
You should look at the mod page for the mod you are using, and see what it says about uninstalling it on a save
that should give you the info you need

But in general, removing a mod does not create much issues for a save. Big mods like sve are different, cause they add lots of stuff to the map
I have (accidentally) removed a mod that added furniture or machines to my game in the past, and the only thing that happened was that in the place of the furniture and machines were now the red circle things with a line through them.
I could just delete those and not have issues
In my case I quit the game and added the mods back
But you can try it out to, if you open the save in vanilla and anything is wrong, just make sure you dont sleep/save again and quit the game, and it should still be fine.

You can mod your multiplayer games, but to avoid any hiccups, all players' mod lists need to match. If players have too many mismatched mods, you will experience bugs in your game - even if the mods were working fine earlier, there is no guarantee that they will stay that way, and strange things may start occurring.
There are a few exceptions to this - cosmetic mods usually work fine with no glitches, and some C# mods work as well. The main mod page often includes information on whether or not they work in multiplayer. However, in general, your mod lists should match exactly.

some mods are not updated for 1.6, but do have an unofficial update that you need to grab elsewhere

There are some red texts i have, some of them i am familiar with and thats ok, 3 of them when i start the game, and thats fine its just optional things for some mod which is safe to ignore
But i get some red text after i play for some time, and gane just crashed for the first time

okay apparently its just not working in general, i took out all the display furniture and its still not giving me access to my chests
EPU has a 1.6 version below the main download, you need to go to the Files tab
(however it's also basically deprecated and many mods have moved away from it. If none of your other mods complain that EPU wasn't enabled then it's safe to remove)
I think I had a similar issue, is it possible better chests/convenient chests are conflicting?
I would remove convenient chests, since better chests has the same features in it if I remember correctly
have you tried it? I have my chests like hyper-organized and don't want to lose any of that
you can remove the mod, then open the save. If it messes up anything you dont like, just close the game without saving and add the mod back, and nothing will be messed up
as long as you dont save 😛
Anyone have an idea why I'm not really getting any mod forage? I'm playing with SVE, ES, RSV and I'm barely getting any forage. I've even gone in with FTM's config editor and nothing has really changed.

All mods loaded properly, but it seems only vanilla forage is spawning? Wildflour's forage that is handled through BBM is spawning, but nothing that uses FTM is spawning. FTM loaded properly and there was no errors. I'll post my log soon.

You may just be having some bad rng luck depending on where you're looking
Did you run the game as admin from the steam version of the game (not SMAPI)
I looked all over. Only vanilla areas and farm got forage and only vanilla items except a peppercorn and Wildflour's moon drop bush spawns.
RSV and ES strangely got no forage

I don't know why it's crashing, but I see PYTK in your mod list, which is known to cause issues. Can you remove it, or is there a mod you're using that's dependent on it?

yes, i already have two spouses and it happens after i’ve proposed to the third one.
so you have to remove custom spouse rooms before you propose to additional spouses when using free love, otherwise your game will crash, and add it back after the wedding

could you try disabling TMXL Map Toolkit? I don't see anything else that deals with farmhouse tiles
it did not work @spark pivot now all that is happening is the floor and walls are flashing black and the normal tiles but no more white screen
could you try making a new save file and see if the same thing occurs?

Ok - So SMAPI may be dying before it even logs the error to file.
One moment, I'll have instructions for you.
- Open your Stardew Valley folder (Where StardewModdingAPI.exe and Stardew Valley.exe are)
- Hold shift and right click in an empty space on the folder
- Choose "Open Powershell Window here"
- Copy and paste the following:
./StardewModdingAPI.exethen press enter
It should launch SMAPI again, then try to load your save - If it crashes to desktop, the error should be logged to the powershell window (And you can take a screenshot of it)
Oh yes - SAAT is dead too in 1.6.8 - Please remove it next (After we see what happens here)
And AntiSocial NPCs (It's part of 1.6 now)

Can't stop you now, but if you ever decide to redo your modlist, Vortex is recommended again, Stardrop is the better choice for Stardew Valley

Vortex isn't recommended for Stardew Valley.
It's hard to troubleshoot and often causes issues like SMAPI/mods not being installed or updated correctly, files mysteriously disappearing, crashes, etc. Volunteers here often can't help with Vortex issues.
Some options:
- Install mods directly (which is easy and safe in Stardew Valley!).
- Or use Stardrop, a mod manager specifically designed for Stardew Valley.
- Or get help with Vortex in the Nexus Discord or Vortex support forums.
(See also the Nexus App feedback thread, if you want to help Nexus avoid the same issues in their upcoming replacement for Vortex.)
Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience to tell you how to remove Vortex without messing with your mod list, someone else might know.

It's more that Stardrop manages the mods better without breaking things - Vortex tends to do weird things once in a while and they become a pain to debug.

Does anyone know of a mod that incorporates some sort of terraria-like twin-stick controls with a radial mouse on the right stick? I found one on Nexus but it's old and doesn't work with the slingshot.
I was also wondering about changing steam input, but I'm realizing it wouldn't center my mouse on my character unless it was a mod
If anyone's a really talented mod author, I'd suggest making a mod like this cause IMO it's the one thing missing from the gamepad support

That's because the one that asked to be updated check the version of shiko mod (1.2.0) on mod page. You can ignore it or you can change the version inside the manifest of shiko spouse and festival location

Okay I was told to post here..I'm not having an issue with a mod though so there's no log to post or anything
My friend and I tried to do a co-op game yesterday. We both have modded games (aesthetic only, not sdv expanded) and she is in Singapore with me in the USA. Neither of us have ever done co-op before, but we could not get the game to load! It was just stuck on the black loading screen, even when we tried switching who was hosting. (Adding in: the game loaded us in as hosts, but would get stuck loading when we tried to join the co-op. Second player was never able to join the farm, just stares at a black screen while host was able to play the farm)

The most likely issue is mod mismatch
ie they have mods you don't have or vice versa. Even aesthetics mod can cause issues depending on how they work

there are very, very few mods that are "safe" to not match in MP. Some aesthetic mods load a new texture to replace a vanilla one, and if the host have that mod and a farmhand without that mod tries to load in, the host's game will tell the farmhand to load said texture, which they don't have, causing them to error

Well, I'm having problems with the Farmer Portrait mod
I downloaded the "seasonal farmer portrait template for non-coders" but the game gives the following error in the logs: `These mods could not be added to your game.
[17:43:27 ERROR SMAPI] - FarmerPortraits because its manifest is invalid.`
Duplicate NPC clones wandering about? Known issue that occurs sometimes, more often with SVE.
Can get rid of them by doing the following in console.

you should be able to just toss them into the inventory trash bin
CJB Item Spawner should let you delete any items in it's menu if the regular trash doesn't work.
I am playing on multiplayer save with and we use a mod to pause time. We accidentally forgot to toggle the time pause off before sleeping in

I have a problem with the Better Crafting mod and to be exact the recover Trash function.
When active I should be able to right click on my trashcan and view its contents, but the area to right click is somewhere in my inventory. it also somehow creates a new "Mod Options" Button each time it's opened.
seems like a known issue with BC not taking zoom level into account - https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/11115?tab=bugs mentions the same problem as yours
for now maybe try disabling that functionality in BC and use this mod?

The mod Ui Info Suite doesn’t work for me and smapi says the mod is no longer compatible and to check for a newer version but i’ve downloaded the newest version of the mod and i don’t understand why it won’t load

What kind of crash? Freeze or crash to desktop?
Game freezes and then crashes
Ok - Can you go to your Stardew folder, hold shift, and then right click and select "Open Powershell Window Here"
In Powershell, type the following:
./StardewModdingAPI.exe
Then when SMAPI launches, try to start a new farm and get it to crash
There's no crash info in the log, but if SMAPI is crashing before it gets a chance to log it to the file, it should be in the powershell window
Is that the same folder as the ErrorLogs folder? Just to check
Nah - The folder where you have Stardew installed (E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley)
And if you hold shift and right click in an empty space, the powershell option should be on the right click menu

Oh yeah - Stardew, heavily modded, is kind of fragile/busy when changing seasons, loading saves, or starting a new farm - Give the game extra time and try not to alt tab and it'll usually behave itself.
I've had it freeze up on me if I alt tab during loading

Are you looking at the map specific config you're using? I believe it's in the Grandpa's Farm config if that's what you're using for a map

Yup - You'll want to copy that full line with the launch options in green, then set that up in steam
For whatever reason the initial bat file that does some checks before launching the installer didn't want to launch

That would do it, I believe Stardew is on .net 6.0 (And I believe you'll need the runtime to make it happy) Usually I'd expect installing Stardew to cover the .net requirements - not sure how you've gotten it to run (Unless you haven't launched Stardew yet)

Hello people. First time here so let me know if I'm doing it wrong. Playing on Android and SMAPI Stardew Valley crashes right after launch even with no mods installed. Looking online, only thing I've found is it might work with 1.5.6.39 but I have 1.5.6.52 and no way to go back that I know of.

Implemented in version 1.5.5, MonoGame is the latest framework that Stardew uses, and was implemented to solve problems such as Memory limits and audio issues. Unfortunately, MonoGame has a bug which affects random computers, not allowing them to launch Stardew. This bugs randomly targets computers, regardless of your operating system or hardware and is out of ConcernedApe's control. There is currently no known fix. To switch branch:
- On Steam: In your Steam library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas, and then choose the branch under the dropdown.
- On GOG: From the game's page in GOG Galaxy, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... and choose the branch under the Beta channels dropdown.

okay so, I need help withCustom Furniture. I imagine this is brought up countless times given the sheer number of mods that rely on it and its been broken a long time now, but I found in github Platonymous had included it in their master folder of many mods that got updates. I followed instructions to use that Custom Furniture folder in the github download but with the .dll file added, yet it still fails to load. I'm guessing the dll file needs to be updated too. Does anyone know how I could fix this to get it working? I really want to use the mod that depends on CustomFurniture and I can't find any inof on whether that mod has an alternative to Custom Furniture so I really want to fix it:

Custom Furniture is completely dead and no longer functions, so whatever mods you downloaded that depend on that won't work anymore (this was actually what I myself was fixing earlier!)
some of them have no .manifest files which unless I am mistaken, should appear after attempting to load the game once and then closing it, so hopefully they should be there now

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
