That cabin menu shouldn't exist.
you should only be able to change it via the wrench.
Is that from expanded or something else? Because all I have enabled is expanded and the farm type
Whatever mod or setting you're using for that, remove it. Only change it via the wrench.

Do I delete xnbs? They seem to be part of Stardew Valley Expanded. So, I should find a content patcher alternative?
Don't delete anything inside the SVE folder
SVE already loads them with Content Patcher. The only one you should delete is that Content folder that you have inside your mods. If any mod tells you to replace anything inside the game's content folder, don't use it

Hi folks... hoping for some guidance on adding barn and coop animals. I was looking on Nexus and saw BFAV seems to be the way to add more animals without replacing them, but then there's also an unofficial version of BFAV. Both are from 2019, and I'm just afraid of breaking my save.
Can anyone provide some current instructions on how to get new animals added (without replacing the old ones) and maybe some suggestions on which animals have been done really well? I like the Alpacas for instance.
Hey... so I'm doing the pirates wife quest. I gave the war momento to kent. He gave me the Gourmet Tomato Salt. Looking online, the next step is gus. But trying to give it to gus I get "wrong person" in the bottom left... what am I supposed to be doing with it?

Well... I doubt it'll break your save. but if you're worried. Make a back up of your save. Located same location as your smapi logs. ||(or have a mod make daily back ups)||
After a backup if secured. try the mod out to see if anything breaks
the pirate quest is based upon specific dialogue lines existing in the character's dialogue file

It's a problem with snapi not installing right and the directions don't work I have tried everything this android 13 update and nothing is working I have spent hours trying to figure it out I would appreciate some help
I mean howie, I'm not going to lie to you. Due to it being in alpha, most of the server has pretty much sworn off helping with the new version.

I've seen a few reports in this channel. That said, I personally haven't tried it myself, I'm still using some really old version (1.x something?) mostly because, well, it's been a while since I've actually bothered to play the game
He was having the infinite loading screen before we updated from 2.2.7 to 2.2.8
We'll see about fixing it, but is there anything else that might cause that error that he's getting?
It's a very nonspecific error, unfortunately
It's usually mismatched mods but any mod that works with the low level sync code could cause that

Uh, anything involving the NetWhatever types, I haven't poked too deeply into how they work, just that they're fragile if you add directly to NetFields

okay so my issue is that my game freezes whenever i use my sword (obsidian sword). i removed all mods except error handler and it still happened, and when i load into a new save and use the sword it doesn't freeze. nothing shows up in the small panel. does anyone know what this issue is?

im guessing for some reason the game decided to glitch out the obsidian sword i had in that save
@gaunt gust Okay. So, it seems content patcher was our issue before. And we updated that AND Margo at the same time.
So, we reverted to 2.2.7. And now it's fixed.

Silly question, is it possible to play with your vanilla save file while playing on SMAPI version?
Yes. Keep in mind that if you load any mods that adds item, load vanilla save then save, it becomes modded save. If you only launch QoL mods or aesthetic mod, it's safe to launch that save in vanilla or modded interchangably
i bought it just recently on steam but it still wont work and the problem is still the same

I setup my launch options properly after I had gotten specific achievements (I.e. complete the Joja Questline). Is there a way to signal to the game that I completed this already so it would give me the achievement?

If you're on Chrome you can click the button next to the download and hit keep.
Please unzip the folder before running the installer
i do hit keep but it still doesnt go into a file
After you hit keep hit the button again and then hit show in folder.
im downloading it now with my virus protector off, i didnt have this issue with my old pc so thats why i was confused, i cant even find my steam file

Hi, I'm just going to ask if someone here knows the child to npc and family planning mods, the child to npc mod was working but only for two kids, i have a multiple spouse mod so i reached like 4 kids so i wondered if it won't really work, the child to npc and child age up worked on the other 2 kids.

i would honestly have them disable vortex/unlink it from the game and if it doesnt fix it, reinstall all their mods manually

Interesting new problem... So I had to temporarily remove SDVE to get a cutscene to run, did it, and went to end the day, all of which I've done before and it worked just fine

Hi there. I did a dumb thing today and attempted to update my mods for the first time since 08/22. I think I broke everything. When I load up it now says I have 24 mods that can be updated with tons of duplicates. Anyone willing to help walk me through what/where I went wrong before I cry 🥹

My recommendation is to just work through it one by one. For the duplicates, try deleting both and redownloading if a lot also need updates. I don't have time to walk you through it but you can do it, just take it one step at a time

ok so the problem is in SAR (i hate living!) the problem isn't yours but the mod you will have to wait until the dev of Save Anywhere Redux (that's me) will fix it

yes but be aware of the fact that the save will be kinda weird on the first day from load after removing not broken just weird (for example you will have all the items you got, but the time will be still 6am)

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).
mine is no longer urgent since the game has crashed anyways so if someone else was getting help first they're obv the first priority

nothing happened this time, but what I can remember smapi said something about the game touched memory what shouldn't be touched or something and it crashed, smapi only stayed for a few seconds so couldnt take an screenshot

its unrelated to margo, but pytk isn't really needed anymore unless you have hd portraits so you can delete that and save yourself some loading time

there's a few modded npcs (nagito and beatrice) where smapi says their spouse room/festival locations aren't loaded because they need pytk?
hd and portraiture doesn't require pytk anymore

Do you have Mediaval Craftables for Alternative Textures? If yes, that's a feature of Alternative Textures. You can change it in the config, it should be something like Random object textures on placement
You'll have to buy a paint bucket for Robin later to change them all to the texture you want, or make them look vanilla again
I have stardew valley expanded and this boulder was supposed to be removed on summer 3- it wasn’t removed tho. I assume one of my mods is messing with the other one maybe? is there some other way for me to remove it

They replace the game's furniture if you have the CP version. If have the CF, you can buy them from Robin or from the furniture catalogue

how do i keep my smapi version and vanilla version separate? i thought if i opened stardew through the steam app it would only open the smapi version but if i opened it through the desktop version it would open the vanilla, which i just did but it opened the smapi version
i linked it to my steam using the directory, so would i just remove that then? and just have the smapi version as a shortcut on my desktop
I got these for furniture and all cp..
those will conflict witch each other. both industrial sets work fine together, but conflict with the other packs so you should only keep one furniture mod. medieval dnt is something different
you should be able to go into the game files and launch StardewValley.exe and that will give you your vanilla game

I don't think you need to be using that unless you're using one of Daisy's maps, or Reimagined 3

Hello! I am hoping someone can help me. I updated a bunch of mods and then tried to go to East Scarpe but it was suddenly inaccessible after the bridge. There was a magnifying glass at the right side of the frame and when I hovered on it it said that I needed to download Grampleton Fields. So I did that and now my game won’t fire up. I deactivated Grampleton Fields and it still won’t fire up.

That mod is meant for Looking for Love, so it probably doesn't work with only SVE. You might have to go back to the mod page and follow one of the many instructions in the comments to make it work

What do you mean "running/starting your game"? Your log indicates it launches.
My game runs, starts, and crashes: closing the game with no error appearing.
Also when updating any of those, do I need to delete the existing file or no? It differs for me every time.
I'd start by updating smapi/your mods, just in case one of them fixed an issue that might cause that

I am trying to use portrait mods, and they've worked for me before so im not sure why its doing this to me now. they are all generally by the same people, lunakatt, dcburger, and orangepie all in dcburger's art style. I have been trying to use the replacement version, two of them are CP I think. all in all, I have no idea what im doing lol. I moved all of the pictures over like it said to, and it replaced them like it was supposed to. whats weird for me is that portraiture works, it just doesn't load the seasonal changes, but id prefer not to use this one. if anyone could help, id appreciate it

so it either doesn’t show up at all, or does this- i’ll attach the pics. the one that doesn’t show at all is CP Dcburgers high res portrait mod. I think his and lunakatts sve portrait mods are the only CP ones. the other ones like ridgeside, any extra NPCS, east scarp and downtown zuzu are the replacement ones
did you view the portrait in the log you posted above? just to be sure that any mod that is involved shows in the log

that's probably a problem with higher resolution portraits. mr ginger tries to patch the portraits but assumes they are normal sized
could be something else, but it only breaks mr ginger's edits to that portrait

well i installed smapi, downloaded a bunch of mods, put them in the mods folder all nice, launched the game on steam...and its just vanilla

I'm using the mod More Animals to randomize my animals appearance, I've dropped all the different skin files that I want into the skin folder and it works, however I seem to have one impostor chicken who still is the vanilla skin? I've looked through the skin folder and can't find having the vanilla skins in there. Would i need to install regular replacements aswell to cover the vanilla skin or would that clash with More Animals?

SMAPI 3.18.0 raised deprecation levels to the final stage, meaning SMAPI will now show yellow warning dialogues for mods with deprecated code. For the user, this just means that the mods have old code and will break in SMAPI 4.0 if they are not updated - it is not anything to worry about at this time. (For mod authors, it's a not-nice warning to update your code already!
