You would need the mobile version of SMAPI, Here's the guide for that https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Android. As for mods, it really depends on the mod. But you do need mods that were released during SDV 1.4.5 since the mobile version hasn't been updated yet.

When we release a mod, we have the option of having Nexus show any required files to the user downloading the mod.

If they're required then yeah, you need to make sure you have them installed.

Does anyone know of a mod to increase the size of the numbers that show how many of an item you have stacked? Outside of UI zoom, I mean.

you can only save when going to bed. anything else is done thru mods, and is 'extremely' if not 'dangerously' glitchy
so if you want a game without mods, you have to do it on a different install
I think they just mean if they click on the modless save instead of the modded save, can they exit out immediately without saving and be ok (the answer is yes you should be fine)

We know! But it looks like you have some mods that conflict and try to modify the same thing. One that often slips under the radar is DustBeauty’s Foliage Redone-Foliage Only mod. I believe there is a config option to turn off debris

Can't fix that except by removing PyTK—it's not an error, it's just a warning though
So you can keep using PyTK for now, but you won't get the most optimal SMAPI performance

Has anyone had recent success using Adopt Skin in multiplayer? With the official patch we occasionally get a ton of errors in the log, and with the beta the mod just fails to load

from what i understand in the logs, the exception happens when you turn on timespeed
i need someone else to look at this as im not familiar with how TimeSpeed works
for the meantime try configuring TimeSpeed with different settings and see if it improves

I have a few issues as I downloaded Smapi recently.
1- My game no longer uses my gpu, and it uses the integrated gpu instead. Is that okay? There shouldn't be a big difference in the experience right? But still, I can't use GeForce anymore to take screenshots or record my gameplay :(
2- I can't take screenshots 😩 I press prt scr or use the snap tool, but it just screenshots a frame from 5 minutes ago or so and not the current one :/ !!
Does anyone know how I can fix those?

Uhh, good morning guys, So I've been re-modding SV recently and I've run into an issue that I've not been able to solve and wanted to ask for help.
The issue being that SMAPI crashes with a CP error that says this: "Mod crashed when loading asset 'Maps/mine' (for the 'Stardew Valley Expanded' content pack). SMAPI will use the default asset instead. Error details:
InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'xTile.Map' to type 'Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics.Texture2D'.
at StardewModdingAPI.Framework.ContentManagers.GameContentManager.ApplyLoader[T](IAssetInfo info, List`1 loadOperations) in SMAPI\Framework\ContentManagers\GameContentManager.cs:line 175"
And I've no idea of how to solve it

I've done the impossible. I have 432 mods installed, and have figured out how to make them work together. I've spent close to a year setting this up and changing the mods to be more balanced and it's finally complete. Just wanted to share because i'm really proud
And I can't even play them because i'm in the middle of a different unmodded play through right now

Or, just fire up vanilla stardew for your unmodded playthrough, then switch to SMAPI for the modded save.
I'm really into my vanilla play through right now and I don't usually play two games at once, much less two files of the same game

i just downloaded a new mod and was going to use mods again for a little bit (even tho if i dont use compatability branch my game becomes laggy to where its really annoying to play) and i downloaded the mods and opened stardew all steps comepleted but when i open the game the mods havent worked? but the stardew menu has the configure mods settings

Hey, so, I just placed some thousands of casks (cause gotta be able to age everything as soon as it comes out of production)… but literally as soon as I put them down the game started lagging TERRIBLY, like my fps must be at 3 or something… and they aren't even in the same map as I currently am. Anything I can do about this?
I got a 3070 and 32GB of ram, I wasn't expecting something like this to be an issue with stardew of all games
(yes, I'm using mods, way too many, but there's no SMAPI error or anything like that, I placed the casks and framerate went to s***, game is still running)

Not an unusual sight if you take into account the number of casks you have. Maybe check the config for automate to see if you can just have it set off every nth time?
you can change automation interval in the config
also, if you're using pytk, that can cause performance issues

im not sure if this is the right place to ask: on nexus, is there a way to remove the little tag that says ive downloaded a mod/alerts that theres an update to a mod? not the tracking alert, like the yellow tag that appears on the mod link
i had an issue similar but it wasnt because of casks it was because my game wasnt in compatibility mode when i used any mods at all, after 5 minutes my game would go to like 1 fps and wouldnt stop until i restarted stardew but would happen again after 5 minutes
Is it normal to have slow startup times when using lots of mods?
The game without mods starts up fairly fast, and loading a save is also really fast.
But when using mods, starting the game is noticeably slower, and loading a save can take me up to a minute. Saving is fast though. I do have a lot of mods, so maybe that's it

how do yall decide where to put the animation descriptions for custom NPCs? I'm noticing that some mods have it in content.json whereas others have dedicated files for them

those separate files are probably loaded into the content.json with include. so it's basically the same as writing it in the content.json but its easier to sort everything

How do I make the tractor music work? I just left it in the Mods folder and that wasn't right I put it in the Custom Music folder in the Mods folder and that didn't work either lol I'm tired of my tractor sounding like a horse lol

It was reading no errors but also doing nothing to the game (no skin changes, no strays, etc). So I changed the folder name so it loaded in before the BFAV mods (someone else said sometimes the order makes a difference) and now I'm getting an error, but still no effects in the game.

So, a funny thing happens when a storm blows through and takes your game out in the middle of multiplayer, and then you try to save.....

Went to load my old save after updating some mods (It's the save I had the stuttering issues on last month) and now I'm getting a ton of errors. The wizard one I can fix, I just forgot to switch a setting, but Atracore put out 2k errors and would of continued if I didn't exit the game and got an error with SolidFoundations

( @tired brook this one is interesting. Multiple mods: SF, AtraCore, Spritemaster package the same dependency, but two different versions. If atracore loads first, and it usually does, it's fine because I have the latest version. But if Spritemaster (which has 3.3.2) loads first, SF and atracore break.
I don't suppose there is a good way to handle mod dependencies like this where the latest version of a dependency is the one loaded, not the first encountered?)

Yeah, the tl;dr is that spritemaster, sf, and atracore all use the same dependency

I have a question with Stardew Expanded and grandpa's farm. Will grandpa's farm take over my standard farm in a normal game if I don't remove it from my mods file?

Any mod will take over a normal game if you load smapi at all. If your playing a vanilla file just use the normal executable for Stardew.
If you have a modded game with standard farm
Just put a . Infront of the folder to not include it for loading.

I used to love just bombing everything in skull cave with the explosive ammo, but now I can't, cause it's too slow 😭

Replace multiple spouses with free love
It just makes the image flicker with sound in the background. I can hear all my actions being inputted in the background but I am stuck on a flickering image.

This is from the game last time it was flickering. It doesn't crash unfortunately it just flickers and becomes unplayable.
I actually don't have afterburner on my computer but it says I do. I looked to see if that was the problem.
Ok, I do see you playing now. You can try a) do you have rivatuner? and b) install profiler maybe?? You might have to uninstall mods 1 by 1 until the flickering stops to see what's causing it

Yeah, whichever is loaded first wins in that case. Trying to figure out which mods have the same dependencies and which is latest would be a bit messy, since we'd need to fragment the loading process into partial loads.

I also wanted to ask if it was reasonable to have separate i18n files (ie i18n/default/events.json) that smapi would just read and throw together into one dictionary. Because right now rsv's i18n files are getting so big they are unwieldy

okay you can try some things to isolate
main suspect is WoL as you say
so move ImmersiveProgressions folder into another folder. dont delete. it has your character config
then run the game without WoL
check if you are now dealing normal damage

i think the weather machine mod might be the culprit
saw some errors related to it in the console
ye there are a few issues there, try to update your mods pfm especially, also if you don't have a lot of mods that use pytk you might want to consider trying to remove it, if it doesn't improve performance too much you can add it back

daily, the forage item is increasing in grabber..but 0 experience
gainExperience: boolean (default: true) - Enable/disable skill EXP gain from auto grabbers as if you did the forage/harvest yourself.
could be that ui info suite doesn't work with the deluxe grabber
hmmm..everything else works..the experience counter in uiinfosuite is correct..its just deluxe grabber literally give 0 experience..even if enabled.

It was More Fertilizers that actually threw that error, exact same reason as to why atracore threw like 2k errors. I'll...go try catch that now, so future issues there blame the right mod
I keep on forgetting that the the nice "each listener to an event is separate" thing is a smapi thing not a c# thing. (this is despite the fact that I considered it and discarded it for atrabase's internal weak event manager...)
(fwiw, the reason why I read that and was like "huh does Peaceful use that too?" is because the DGA shim stuff I wrote for you uses expressions, it just uses the ones out of the standard library instead of the ones brought in by this dependency :P)

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

Hi, I need some help with SMAPI. I downloaded it a while ago on windows/steam and everything was fine and I am trying to play stardew again with SMAPI and it is not working lol i think it needed an update but when I tried it told me I needed to unzip the file. I extracted it and there's no difference. I'll get a log in a sec

I wish to modify two retexture packs. I do not know how to do this, and want help with it. The two mods are conflicting. The mods are Pokefy 2.0.1 and Dex Mods Goth furniture tileset.

yea, ive been trying to follow this guide but it just says to extract the file and then double click the install, but i get an error message when i do that

Ideally when you run the install, you don't get an error message and everything work. So I assume the reason it's not working is because of the error message.

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. You're not unzipping it to a folder first, and then running it from a folder. You're running it from inside the zip file still.

Hi folks, trying to use my first mod ever, the simple crop label, but it doesn't seem to be working out! If anyone has any advice it'd be greatly appreciated!
I installed SMAPI using the directions on the stardew valley wiki on my laptop (MacOS) and I assume that's where the mod folder in my local files came from (?). I downloaded the crop label mod from Nexus mods and put the unzipped file into the mods folder (I also did this with the content patcher mod, but it's not necessary for the crop label to work). It says in the instructions for installing the mod to "Start the game once to generate config.json file in the Stardew Valley > Mods > SimpleCropLabel folder)" but no such file was generated when I started the game from Steam.
From some of the videos I was watching it seemed like people with macs had a little message in their header that said something like, "Stardew Valley with X mods" and I don't see that. I feel like I've missed something really silly but can't tell what q-q

there's also a file called smapi-internal in the local files area that came from it I think

Alright, it looks like something went wrong in the installation process, are you launching via steam?
After installing SMAPI on a Mac, launching via Steam should launch SMAPI
I also tried to go to see the log using the instructions from the link/SMAPI log thing and there's nothing so i think did some really wrong

Also, do you only have 1 copy of Stardew on your computer?
OCcasionally people have more than 1 copy and this causes weird problems

Alright, that's a great first step. There's a few things that could have gone wrong, and I'm not sure which one might have, so we can try starting with reinstalling SMAPI.

Probably just a random glitch, that's not really a terrible problem, it happens regularly for some people on Linux iirc and it definitely happens if you don't have internet. If it keeps happening feel free to come back and ask again, but it will probably be some kind of connectivity issue is my guess.

I would like additional help. In Pokefy, there are glitches (pixels in some animations and sprites that seem to move forward a pixel out of frame that then wrap around. Additionally, some things just don't work, like Krobus's reskin. Would anyone be willing to work with me on this?

we couldn't figure out what was doin it - I installed Spritemaster and it was fine but it doesn't work with other people, so I suspsect it's two mods interracting

Yagisan determined that it seems to be a certain number of mods in conjunction with Spritemaster along with Juliet & Jessie (& Jade) and reported the issue here: https://github.com/ameisen/SV-SpriteMaster/issues/13. It's definitely weird though. And I do have a lot of these same mods so if it is two mods conflicting, I still don't know which two they are 😆
