He can join the first day we play but when we come back to the farm the next day it says he cant use the character he used the previous day and says "this character belongs to another player" yet he is the one who made the character?

@wide parcel Saves on consoles cannot be transferred to other consoles, PC, or mobile. The consoles don't allow access to them so you can't grab them and move them. Consoles of the same type (xbox > xbox, playstation > playstation, switch > switch) will transfer through cloud saves.

thanks, the game has been running fine until I installed animation mods. I was looking for feedback on what I should look at to determine whether more ram would help or if it's my processor being outdated.

I just turned on the in-game FPS counter so I'll test it with and without certain mods and go from there, I guess.

My Stardew Valley closes when launching. I tried the following, but it didn't work:

• uninstalling with steam, "steamapps\common\Stardew Valley" to make sure it's fully uninstalled, then reinstalled it
• making a backup of "AppData\Roaming\StardewValley", then deleting "AppData\Roaming\StardewValley"
• installing smapi, then running with smapi which gives a short error log saying "smapi 3.14.0, sdv 1.5.6", "mods go here...", "log started", "waiting for gaming to launch".
• I also followed the guide on this wiki page: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Game_doesn.27t_launch.
• I followed a guide on this steam page: https://steamcommunity.com/app/413150/discussions/0/3112520381509564231/.

Hey, a bit of an odd question. a friend and I started a world which he hosted, he quit and gave me the save file but considers his character to be Players 1 when I open the save I am playing his character, is anyone familiar with how to switch to another character or if it's possible to being with? if not anyone is familiar with how to edit the game files into retrieving my items and stats?

Player is based on host, so the host will always be player 1

Since the first of December, when I updated stardew valley on steam it stopped working on my pc, I thought it was a game error since I read that I had to wait for them to update the game again because it happened to many. Wait several weeks and I forgot, a few months ago I wanted to play again and so I decided to see what happened to my game. I did everything that steam recommended to make it run again, something useless since it didn't solve anything. I uninstalled steam and reinstalled it hoping that it would be solved and nothing happened either, so I sent an email to the game support, which was never answered showing them my error, that my game did not run and when I gave it to play the game I did not know opened. So I wanted to know what I can do because I am desperate for not being able to play Stardew Valley

@ArcaneDescent @JessYoMama You can do it without a mod. Go to %appdata%/StardewValley and open the file called startup_preferences. ctrl + f for "playerLimit" and you'll find something like this: <playerLimit>-1</playerLimit>.

Change the -1 to any number you like...

I am having a problem with my audio on Stardew Valley. It's like someone put it in the wrong tone and so it sounds like a demon music box. All the sounds are weird too. I checked my computer and the audio for everything else is fine. Tried reinstalling and checked file integrity and it seems all fine. This is the first time it has happened today. I played other games and there's nothing wrong with it, and if I stream through discord, it can also be heard.

Saves on consoles cannot be transferred to other consoles, PC, or mobile. The consoles don't allow access to them so you can't grab them and move them. Consoles of the same type (xbox > xbox, playstation > playstation, switch > switch) will transfer through cloud saves.

Hey guys. Im trying to play on steam link with touch controls. I have the layout selected that Concernedape made for remote play. Problem is, the only buttons that work are the inventory cycle buttons and the map button. Nothing else works.

I tried click to move but I don't think there's an option in the game options for that.

Drop in fps - Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me. I have been trying to play Stardew Valley but I keep seeing a drop in fps at random times. I have searched the internet and have repaired Windows XNA Framework but it didn't work. Forums keep mentioning to find the _CommonRedist folder but that doesn't exist in my PC. I have tried to switch between fullscreen to window mode and tick/untick Vsync but nothing solves it. Could someone help? Many thanks.

Lots of people have similar issues including myself. Vanilla game runs fine. Smapi with no mods causes hitches and frame drops down to 40 every 15-20 seconds or so. It’s frustrating. I’ve tried everything but I think it comes down to a smapi thing that’s only affecting a subset of users.

Does anyone know why would my game loads very long, like about ten minutes or more? This happened everytime i open the SMAPI launcher, opens the 'Load' menu, and selecting a farm to play. And also everytime i open the CJB Item menu, but not as long. Sometimes it happens when my player move to another place in the game. Currently waiting for the farm to load as we speak, it's been about three minutes now and i still don't know what causes this.
