Uh, here's how to reproduce a CalicoJack crash that has hit me twice:

  • Use a controller to select "Stand"
  • Alt-tab out of the game & back in
  • Use a mouse to select the "New Game"
  • Press the controller Dpad (or maybe any button, I haven't tested)

Got a question about both Stardew Valley and SMAPI. I first noticed this unknown bug on SMAPI, which seems to lag for incredibly long periods without loading the game. When the game does load (sometimes taking as long as 10-15 minutes to load, it is virtually unplayable because of lag).

I tried disabling all the mods, and got the same problem.

Then I tried just loading the vanilla game without using SMAPI at all. The base game hangs and doesn't open for 10 minutes or so, and is unplayable due to massive lag.

Any idea what this bug is that affects both vanilla and SMAPI with the same problem?

Well actually that answers it, unless it also happens with being just vanilla then you should be in #archived-modded-support but equally if it happens just vanilla make a new save, instantly fo to bed and see if it happens. Because certain mods can't be removed or your world can be ruined. SVE is an example of this

Go to the top left of your steam client window, click on "Steam" > "settings" > "controller" > "general controller settings"> Another window will open up and make sure that for whatever controller you are using that the support box is checked. If you are not too sure what controller it is you can check them all and it won't do much! After that the controller provided it's plugged in or connected with bluetooth should pop up in that window and you will be good to go!

Want to play with two steam controllers? Do this: Due to how the steam controllers work they are a little funky but these bindings will allow two to work perfectly.

I play on xbox and me and my cousin had a world with 170 hours, fully restored community center, everything unlocked and working on Ginger Island repairs. Hi, I'm fairly new to the game, but my wife has been playing it to death for about a year now. We started playing Co-op on the switch recently and she has expressed the desire to play with mods. I just have a couple questions:

  • When I buy the game on PC, it's totally possible to continue playing couch co-op with controllers, correct?
  • Can we dump the save data from the switch and use it on PC? Just curious here.
  • I'm a developer and work mostly in embedded C and C++, but I have quite a bit of experience in C# and unity development. The game has a C# scripting backend correct? I'd like to potentially make some mods myself.

Saves on consoles cannot be transferred to other consoles, PC, or mobile. The consoles don't allow access to them so you can't grab them and move them. Consoles of the same type (xbox > xbox, playstation > playstation, switch > switch) will transfer through cloud saves.

Okay hear me out. We decided to play SvE (Stardew expanded). MY friend have SV on steam and in that time he didnt install it. After installing the game, he installed smapi. He tried to run the game (and forgot to set launch options) but the game didn't start or it would start but one one milisecond and crash. We tried compatibility mode and it's working but only for vanilla. He reinstalled xna,redist (everything). Can you guys somehow help us? its @velvet bridge btw

Does anyone know the issue for getting disconnected every couple minutes? Whether I'm hosting or being invited to a co-op, I can't seem to last more than 3 minutes without the server getting disconnected. I have tried disabling firewall and antivirus but it has done pretty much nothing. Now I went from lasting 1 min to 4 min. I have not seen this happen with any other game I play online, so I highly doubt this is an issue with my internet connection. Saves on consoles cannot be transferred to other consoles, PC, or mobile. The consoles don't allow access to them so you can't grab them and move them. Consoles of the same type (xbox > xbox, playstation > playstation, switch > switch) will transfer through cloud saves.

This was from a couple of days ago to be honest so i dunno. I think I just left and took the elevator to 40 again and worked down and it was fine. I just didn't know if it was a bug, or if there was something I was supposed to do but didn't know how. It just seems suspicious that I would NEED to use a staircase in order to progress.

Hi, I have a problem with the game Stardew Valley stopped running over time after the updates and I can not fix it after flipping through a couple of forums did not find anything meaningful on this topic.

"I got Abigail to 8 hearts, got the letter to come see her after 8. The wiki says to walk into the shop after 8 when she's there, but you can't because it's locked! I tried getting in there before 8 and then walking into her room after 8 but that doesn't trigger it either.

The wiki also says that the event only triggers between 8-10pm but Abigail's schedule is such that she is either in bed for the night by 7:30 or staying out late and doesn't get home til almost 11.

How the fuck do I get this event to trigger? I want to marry her but I want to see all the cut scenes first.

Edit: Figured it out. The shop does adjust it's hours to 9pm so you can do it. After 9 and you'll be locked out. As others said you also need to make sure its a night she's in bed by 7:30.
