Despite following relevant troubleshooting steps here in the discord pins, on SV.net, and wiki, still having issue connecting online for Co-Op.

Attached screenshots include:

  • Installed .NET runtimes (incl. 5.0.*), and
  • Two instances of vanilla SV running (fresh install, including wiped %appdata% folder) where:
    • top-left is ran directly from StardewValley.exe and shows limited to LAN-only (no invite code option), and
    • lower-right is ran via Steam w/o any extra launch options and hangs on "Connecting to online services" (no dots)

How do I get past "Connecting to online services" without resorting to the Compatibility beta?

It's not just 32 bit systems, it's systems with a graphics card that are too old. Your final option is to use DepotDownloader to go back to 1.5.4.

Hey sorry, i have a problem while trying to play Stardew Valley. When i open it, it just don't start but you can see it as a subprocess in the task manager, after a few seconds it dissapears. When i look at the %appdata% stardew valley folder, all in there is just a carpet called as "Error logs", then it have some "Null Player files" that contain some information like "Failed to create graphics device". Can someone help me to solve my problem? Also, idk if this is the correct channel to ask for help, so, sorry btw.

It was actually open to test for a couple of months as a beta, and those who tested it didn't have problems, you can't test every single configuration of a pc though ;P And yes I understand it's frustrating, trust me it's just as frustrating for those of us who offer to help here because we don't know what to tell people, we are trying to figure out information as much as the devs are so we can try and help. The lag happens in a variety of pcs, low end, high end, medium end.

If not playing local co-op, you and your friends need NSO, and be on each other's switch friend list. They have to select join after their sdv start screen and choose your farm. I believe that's how that works.

I just found confirmation on CA's Twitter feed that the lagging issues I used to have when playing SDV have been fixed by the recent hotfix: https://twitter.com/ConcernedApe/status/1468380233871069193

My character won't stop walking :( This has been going on for a week now. I walk where I need to go and they walk for too long / run into things or people. I tried looking around to see how to fix this but all I see is the slow glitch. This isn't slow it's just delayed ;_; Also, It's in all directions sadly.

Does anyone know a way to update my farm on my mac? I mainly play on desktop occasionally on my laptop when I’m on the go, my issue is that my laptop’s game file is way behind the one on my PC, despite it being the same farm in the beginning. They were in sync for a good while in the beginning, but recently they haven’t been matching up and one is lagging behind. Fix?

I’ve put a total of 250hrs into this game, of which about 150 on my iPad using the excellent touch controls, and before the release for mobile of 1.5 I wanted to get used to a controller on iPadOS, but it’s all completely broken! The controls are totally different from the ones on the Switch, which is my second main device

i come back to game after long time not playing stardew
last version i used is 1.3 (iirc) and there's an update to 1.5
at first, i play it smoothly and then it's start stuttering without reason and eat 100% CPU usage, iirc last time i play startdew, my CPU usage around 52 - 70% (yeah, it's Dual core cpu). can someone help me to fix stuttering issue?

after the 1.5.1 update my computer's been really weird with stardew. i can load up the game (after a long while) but when i try to load a game or do anything for that matter my screen freezes and my game crashes. my computer is quite old but has been running all other games fine. any ideas on how to fix this?

Heya! 😄

I hadn't played SV for a while (probably since of earlier this year), and I did play with mods back then, but currently I don't use any 'cause I wanted to just start completely fresh.

I've 64-bit and the game is from Steam 🤷

○ Anyway, yeah, problems with lots of crashing happening:

  1. When just starting up the game, just crashes as soon as the game launches

  2. Finally at some point, when getting to menu, clicking Load causes crash

  3. When Save is loading it crashes.

  4. After making a new farmer and clicking OK causes a crash

  5. After changing Graphics, and saving, and getting out from the game and trying to launch the game, the game just crashes again.

○ So far** temporary fixes** have been:
• Verify integrity of game files (Steam)
• Deleting startup_preferences
• Reinstalling the whole game

But yeah, crashes keep on happening, and I haven't really got more far than making a new farm/farmer, because I'd want to fix the issue(s) first 😅

Hi, if someone can help me please. I play Stardew on computer using Steam. Last time I played it, 1.5.5 was already on, and it was all good but after it had many mini updates/hotfixes I guess, and now my game is mess. It's taking more than half an hour for me to open and load the save. And even after that, the game keeps freezing all the time. I tried reinstalling it, and deleting the startup_preferences as I saw here in this channel but still doesn't work.

So my question is (I think) about 1.5 in general, and I've been looking for a solution for a calendar year to no success. I don't think it's fixable on our end (meaning a game update would be required). I've got a forum thread proving it occurs on windows & mac, modded and unmodded, semi randomly. Where would i ask about an issue like that because i don't want to 'at' mods on the forum and get in trouble but this issue is annoying and i'd like it fixed. Came to the discord after the forums weren't much help. I don't want to pester people since it's not game breaking at all, just infuriating.
