Actually I asked it for some guy I met on social media that said they had this bug and didn't know how to fix it. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to work. Someone also said that the save file is broken because their language wasn't English from the start of the farm

It's very possible that the language mod was an xnb mod for an older version that didn't have the new trees yet. A solution would be editing the save file directly, but you'd need to know the ID of the fake trees.

Hello everyone. A friend of me has a problem with the update 1.5 on Nintendo switch. The ostrich egg doesn’t drop. She has the journal page, she was digging on the right place but only the walnut dropped. She has the full number of 130 walnuts.

I think they do, but it needs a bit of time. Especially if there's only 1 fish in each pond, or if there's room for more fish, or if they are waiting for you to deliver something to increase pond capacity, it can take a while, in my experience.

it's apparently not possible to reinstall DirectX on Windows 10, but performing an "in-place upgrade" restored the DLL for ~~one~~ two people

tip: you can enter %APPDATA%\StardewValley\Saves in the path bar in File Explorer

I've been having the game music stop playing or not start at all (start of day, enter a new map, music finishes but doesn't start up again). I'm on PC (Windows). Is this normal and I've only just started noticing? The ambient noises are always there, just the music that is inconsistent. (I checked the mod support subchannel first to see if it was an issue with the mods I'm using, no issue with my log other than the known custom music/jukebox crash). Thanks!

hello, i just asked in #farms-and-outfits and discovered my question goes a little deeper lol today I started the local co-op to be able to get a second cellar. I placed the cabin, got a controller and a new farmer, went to Robin with that new farmer to get the cabin upgraded... she said that it’d take three days but I haven’t seen her inside nor outside the cabin and I think it’s already been 4/5 days. also, when I go to Robin with said player and talk to her, it skips the option menu and goes directly to the shop. any clue what might be going on? I'm playing on pc/steam. thanks in advance!

I'm not sure how you're trying to get there, but are you using file explorer, and are ending up in C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley\Saves?

(If it helps keep track of the change, the reason is that 1.5 added the ability for you to change your farmer's name, so the save format was changed since farmer names aren't set in stone anymore)

I'm having an issue that the tool-use button doesn't repeat. I have to tap it every time I'm using a tool. Tap 10 times to chop one tree is... Not great. Can't find any place in the game to adjust buttons either, so opening the menu etc is locked to other buttons but this is a minor issue

Might you not have already fixed it with mods.
There's a glitch out there, that'll allow you to use your sword to slide through the front door exit. Just stand in front of the door, keep using the sword and inch forward until you're all the way through. Then you should be able to get to your horse, and even leave the house on your horse by going back to the door again.

I had a sad story a long while ago.
I was working on year 4, getting really into the grind and as I finish the day for the game to save...shortly after my computer kind of crashed in need of an update to restart (it was trying to do so while in game).

Next thing you know, loading the game back up again.... it permanently deleted my saved file. I had no choice but to start all over again SDVpuffersob

@mossy cradle try nano. it's easy to use and can handle very large files with no trouble. I run xmllint --format Input > Output to automatically format a save file before editing it

Honestly I can see a way it's happening, if say you play it syncs the saves, then she plays and it doesn't sync the saves on launch she may have a save on her end that isn't up to date and steam might sync that

it looks like the issue is happening because it's the egg festival in year 2. it's something to do with shop locations, i feel like a reset should have helped with that in that case

So, I've posted about this before and I have to do so again. I'm having an issue with the game where, when I launch it, it minimises. If I try to Alt-Tab it or bring it back up, it minimises again. And it keeps going like that. I've tried launching from the shortcut and from Steam itself. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Stardew and, yet, it keeps happening. It wouldn't bother me so much if, every time it minimised, it didn't screw with my desktop layout, colours or move folder screens all over the place. Kinda frustrating, so anyone know a fix? Oh, and I don't use any mods. Absolute vanilla game.

it sounds like a connection issue though, or like you're somehow not getting to the festivals even though you think you are

i don't have enough info to solve this issue right now, but i would suggest the next time you get a notification about a festival, walk to the next area over together, let him go in, and then try to go in yourself. so if it's the luau, both of you should walk into town and stand at the bottom bridge. you wait while he walks to the beach, and then walk to the beach yourself. if it's still not working then, there may be more information on what's going on in an error log

it shouldn't be letting a farmhand go in before the host, the way it works in multiplayer is that whoever goes in first gets that "waiting for players (1 of 2)" screen until the other person enters the festival. it won't start until all players in a game are there

Me and my friend played the game properly until in the middles of the summer summer session, and connection issues has started. He discconnected from timeout and when he successfully connect there is another problem shows when he tries to exit from house or market. We tried switching to LAN, reinstall game, reopen the game, reopen the router, reopen the steam, joining via steam, none of them worked. We don't know what is the problem, it is ours or not. I have been trying to find out for 1 week and i can't stand anymore.

Does anybody know why my one (1) save displays as duplicates? I only play one save at a time but every time I open the load menu it shows two saves.

Well, if you are on pc you can kind of, anything else not really. But even on pc it's still not just changing hosts you change characters basically

Hello, I was playing stardew valley on my switch lite and it was 25th winter second year, so I joined that winter festival. I gave my Clint and iridium bar coz he's the secret friend.

Then when it's my turn to open my prize, the game crashes. It happens two times

I tried correlating both, but both evens can happen when not performing a action and on the farm. On local-coop

The short of it is, the Switch is not a powerhouse, and SDV isn't that much of an optimized game, meaning lag can be a frequent thing.
