Is there a way to get the tea sapling if you never got it when you got to 2 hearts with Caroline? I just realized that I never entered her plant room when I had enough hearts with her to get the cut scene. I have 10 hearts with her now. I kinda need the recipe for 100% completion

I had this game on switch and decided to get it on PC as well because mouse would be much easier to do on my PC instead of using ingame mouse. I loaded the game, played through the first week or so, and noticed the UI has a weird scaling bug. Is there a fix for this? I am running on a 4K screen, and the star sky background when I sell items and load a save is scaled improperly too.

Also UI scale is set to 100% and the resolution for my game is the right resolution. Scaling up the UI does fix the text being cut off but I think the UI is scaled fine the way it is. (it looks blurry too when I scale the UI up)

Hi guys, I wanted to clarify if something was a bug or not --
I'm in multiplayer with a friend who was much further behind than me so they don't have a lot of recipes or relationships and such. I recently completed the Greenhouse and my friend got the cutscene and the new recipe but the NPC didn't approach me and I don't have the recipe, despite being the host and also being the one who completed the Greenhouse...

Is this a bug or will I get it later or something? I read on the wiki that she comes between 6am and 11am on a sunny day, and I left the building first - same day, within the time zone.

I think I broke the game the other day. It's a two-player co-op session.

I was entering a shed on the farm and my horse is standing right in front of the door. So the screen transitions from outside to inside the shed, but somehow I managed to mount the horse WHILE entering the shed (during that short fade to black). I might have right-clicked twice. Don't remember.

What my screen now shows is the inside of the shed, but my character isn't there. Can't move either. So now I'm stuck. I was still able to select items from my inventory and (for example) swing my scythe.
I had my co-op partner come into the shed. She said neither I nor the horse were in or outside the shed, but that she could HEAR the sound of my scythe inside. Yes, I'm basically haunting the shed now.

Only thing I could do was wait for the day to end and pass out.

Anyways, that's the story of how me and my horse ended up in some kind of SDV version of the Twilight Zone. Spooky shit.

Xbox Multiplayer Connection Issue: Two friends are unable to join each others sessions or sessions that have the other person in it. Both are using spectrum internet, both have open NAT, each have contacted their service provider to no avail, tried restarting routers, opening ports, reinstalling all of our games, and every other thing we can think of and have seen suggested online. We love this game and we loved the farm we were working on before this issue started and we haven't found another game that we enjoy this much. Any help? Please?

Ah, sadly the list is just things we've already tried. I've seen a fair amount of other people with this issue but I've never seen any follow up with a working solution.

So, I was doing some construction work on my island and I decided to tear down some buildings. I destroyed a well, the game gave me the prompt as to if I wanted to tear down a [player]’s house. I had second thoughts and said no. When I went back, the game clipped me inside Robin’s desk.

I do not know the channel of where to report bugs, so I just brought it here. If I need to repost this somewhere else just tell me so.

I am playing on Nintendo Switch, vs. 1.5.4.1, if that helps?

The only way i could get out of it was to waste all my energy or wait till 2am.

Howdy all,

I have 129 golden walnuts. The parrot in Leo's (old) house no longer gives any clues (merely says "Awk!" without the second dialogue giving a hint). On the wiki it claims there are three specific golden walnut groups that don't have clues: gorilla puzzle, the golden walnut below the gem/bird/statue puzzle in the jungle, and the 3 from the dart game. I am sure I have all of these.

I have repeatedly looked through guides and feel as though I have collected all the golden walnuts. I have also checked the museum and Dr. Snail doesn't have any for me or anything like that.

(1) I have read there is a glitch that can cause this. Is that true?

(2) I am on a Switch. Is there anyway to check the save game data or edit it to fix this issue if it is a glitch?

hey there, my game stopped launching today after i updated my Windows 10. I have tried EVERYTHING I could find online and have been searching for hours with no success. okay... anytime i exit my house for more than 5 seconds on a rainy day, it immediately stops. There is still an icon that indicates thunder and lightning, so it should be raining. I have mods, but there is NO ERROS in my logs, which indicate this ISNT a mod issue, so honestly, i dont really know.

I know this isn't quite the right place for it, but this community is way more helpful than most on the internet.
I get a new PC and I've got a not great GPU, a GeForce GT1030 and when I open Steam, I can play some games but not others. Portal plays fine but when I try to open SDV or Fallout 4 it just says preparing to launch then nothing happens. All my drivers are up to date, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've verified the integrity or the game files
Does this mean I need a better GPU?

I asked a screenshot of the console that pops up when you start the game though, not the folder. And even then it'd help seeing inside the folder to see it's empty, haha.

My save got overwritten by steam cloud. I was playing offline for a while, got to Spring Year 2 and suddenly after reconnecting to Steam Cloud Saves my save has been reverted to Summer Year 1. Is there a way I can fix this?

Well, fps lag is affected by many things. A few of these things you can check is:
Are you playing MP? Are you using mods? Is your machine powerful enough? Have you tried checking if it's 100%ing a cpu thread? Do you have a antivirus going in the background? Are there other heavy programs running in the background?

Yeah, no problem. The cases of the aforementioned situation usually can't be fixed without a reinstall of windows. Or at least, I haven't been able to fix that yet, too many windows-related problems.
It's very possible a single windows update (or a faulty XNA install) could've easily borked one of the dll files. A simple replacement would work.

I'll try to be as concise as possible.

  • Download Dependencies (https://github.com/lucasg/Dependencies) Download here link about half a page down), unzip somewhere, and open DependenciesGui.exe
  • Hit open, find Stardew Valley.exe (not smapi), open it.
  • Expand the first line at the top that has the SDV icon. (Click the arrow or double click the line)
  • Search for the line that contains Microsoft.Xna.Framework, but has nothing behind it. Not graphics or game. Expand that again.
  • In here is a list of the possible DLL's that are mismatching or missing. The problematic ones will likely look very different than the rest.
  • The likely culprits are either X3DAudio1_7.dll or MSVCP100.dll, but maybe there's another dll missing or mismatched.
  • Take note of which file it is, and where it's located. Copy this file from a working system (or get it from someone you trust) and replace the one on your system. Also if you want, rename the original one first to keep it as backup.
  • Try starting the game again!

Might you not be able to go through all of these steps, like the game not expanding, or Xna not being expandable it means it's an even different issue that I'll have to look at, feel free to get a screenshot of where it stops being the same as explained.

Well I found the solution!!!!!! You have to open up another game in steam that is connected to the internet or has multiplayer and make sure that you can join multiplayer games on that game. I recall that the missing dll's are in the red. They'll also have some kind of alarm icon next to them (it's been a while since I've seen a faulty one). There might be some dll's simply complaining about not being able to find old and outdated references though, doesn't mean they're the problem. In my case there was also something off about OLEAT32.dll, but nothing was technically wrong with it.

Like I said, the XNA problem is only when smapi is actually able to start. If smapi can't, it means there's something wrong with your .NET, as that's what's called first before XNA is loaded.

Impossible, .NET is integral to windows 10, only way to uninstall that is to uninstall windows, which, is a last ditch effort.

Meaning this is for Windows 7 and older, so ignore the uninstall part.

Hey Guys, im losing my mind. I tried to start the game today but it wont let me open it. I bought a 144hz Display Port a few weeks ago and i think thats the problem and i dont know how to fix it. Stardew and my PC was a bit laggy, so I decided to restart my PC. Come back on, and my 75+ hour, Fall year 3 save has vanished. I tried deleting it and removing the _old in the folder, and that did nothing. The save is in the folder, but it isn't showing up in-game. Is there a way for me to get this back, cause I was at about 75% completion rate on it, and was close to shipping 15 crops and 1 of every item, so I would really like to have it back if possible.

The SaveGameInfo file is completely empty. Is there a way to get this back or repair this, as I don't want to lose this save, I've put in too much time for me to lose it all.

Hello, everyone! @compact kraken was helping me for these past two days about the failure to launch and run the game via Steam.

We’ve tried multiple methods, some being the ones that are known fixes. But last night, I finally got the game working thanks to Mali.

#

Before doing anything, make sure to back up the original files you’re going to replace.

#

Mali’s mentioned to put them in the appropriate folder. This is one of the directories I remember: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_32\Microsoft.Xna.Framework\v4.0_4.0.0.0__842cf8be1de50553\

#

You need to replace this file → Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll which is located in the directory above.

#

Two other .DLL files are known to fix the issue: X3DAudio1_7.dll and msvcp100.dll. Replace the ones in this directory (I believe): C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\.

#

REMINDER: Always have a backup of the original unedited .DLL files you have before replacing them.

#

Additional Note: It doesn’t actually hurt to try all these methods. I even asked Mali if it’s required to restart the desktop/laptop; it’s not even necessary.

#

Newfound fixes consists of the .DLL file, xinput1_3.dll. You need to replace yours in the C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\.

#

Lastly, you need to reinstall/download/repair DirectX by downloading it from Microsoft.

#

Oh! And just make sure not to download their Bing toolbar if you don’t need it. Like, as if anyone does.

#

Also, if you've previously launched the game and failed, might as well delete the startup preference file in the %AppData%.

#

It’ll be in a folder of the same name [of the game, ofc].

That I believe would be on steam. Afaik game devs don't set price per reigon. They set a price in whatever currency say 15 USD and then it gets somewhat converted based on currency

It's generally illegal to try and bypass this. There's tax laws and whatnot. I used to have a friend in Venezuela that always had games stupid cheap, but in relativity to how much bread cost to them it was just as expensive as a game was for me.
It's simply like that so that strong economies don't crash due to things being cheaper elsewhere, it's pretty heavily regulated, and Valve has to abide by it. Laws n stuff.

Right, the other reason I bothered replying is: Be careful where you buy things. If there's places that try to bypass this, it likely means they're not legal, and they're trying to scam you in the first place.

@hexed apex ```If your controller is not working for Stardew Valley on steam. Go to the top left of your steam client window, click on "Steam" > "settings" > "controller" > "general controller settings"> Another window will open up and make sure that for whatever controller you are using that the support box is checked. If you are not too sure what controller it is you can check them all and it won't do much! After that the controller provided it's plugged in or connected with bluetooth should pop up in that window and you will be good to go!

Want to play with two steam controllers? Do this: Due to how the steam controllers work they are a little funky but these bindings will allow two to work perfectly.

Playing multiplayer with mods and whenever I go down to marnies area and this happens to the others as well we have had to restart our farm 2 times due to this.
