Like I said. If you're on the same network, get their local IP. If not, you shouldn't be trying through LAN, but through steam, or using the friend code.

you can set your pc to request a certain local IP but your router is not guaranteed to reserve that address for you unless you manually set it as static in your router settings

Yes, when someone is hosting on MP, they can go into the options menu and get a friend invite code, which you can then share with whoever you want to play, who will put it in there.

hello, i've been experiencing some huge lag on sv multiplayer, i am playing with 2 other friends and it worked perfectly fine a few days ago, however today the game is lagging 24/7 and it become unplayable, even more in the mine.

I'm posting this here so everyone knows if you guys don't already know it.

Windows update KB5001330 is causing problems for me I can't play any halo game because of insane FPS dips and shuttering.

If any of you experience this on Staxel or any game it might be the update.

You can try uninstalling it but I've failed to uninstall because of an error code.

If any of you can uninstall it and play fine that's good 🙂 If not Reddit and other sites are going nuts.

hello! unfortunately i've lost my save file in the game. i can see it in the files, but it will not pull up in game. i've tried what it said in the wiki with rewriting the .txt with a a file that isn't corrupted, i waited a day for it to fix itself, ran it and steam as an administrator, stuff of my pc, etc. i really don't want to start over since it was year 2 for my roommate and i.

It says the file is in use by another process. That could mean an antivirus trying to scan it, or some kind of synchronization messing with it.
Have you tried turning off your AV, or making sure you have no backup software running?

Looks like there's still some issues in co-op with how items synch/register for everybody.
We got all the rarecrows but the Deluxe Scarecrow recipe didn't trigger for me (farmhand), even though it did for the host. So I took all the rarecrows from our farm and slept a night with all of them in my inventory (not sure if the sleeping part was necessary). Got the letter with the recipe the next day. 🤷‍♂️

This is correct, I've seen this reported before. I believe it has to do with how it as client doesn't save the progress of the rarecrows properly, so you need to have one time where you hold all of them. Additionally it's really easy to miss out on one of the 8, while someone else did get all of them.

Another strange thing I noticed is that, with "Lookup Anything" enabled, the mod couldn't decide how many of the rarecrows I got.

I had two copies of the same rarecrow. F1 it in one of my chests: "You own 0". Pick it up: "You own 2". Put it in chest again: "You own 0". Very odd.

But that doesn't matter much; not in here anyway. Just seemed like it was related.

I'm entirely unsure how Lookup anything works as a client, it might be that it doesn't count chests you didn't place?

Just found out that the bugs have nothing to do with the mods but with the game itself. It says "ERROR game". I still haven't figured out how to fix it.
Also, ignore the SMAPI errors. They're already like that before the horse_flute issue occured.

are you sure that you correctly renamed the file? its full name should be <Farm name>_277723368, where <Farm name> is the name of your farm. the name shouldn't contain an extension. you also need to copy SaveGameInfo_old to SaveGameInfo

if you're sure that you did it correctly, then it's possible that the crash corrupted the part of the file system on which the save files are stored. if this is the case, then, unfortunately, it's unlikely that the data can be recovered. as someone who has suffered major data loss twice, I strongly encourage everyone to create hourly backups. 🙂 external HDDs aren't expensive

hello! unfortunately i've lost my save file in the game. i can see it in the files, but it will not pull up in game. i've tried what it said in the wiki with rewriting the .txt with a a file that isn't corrupted, i waited a day for it to fix itself, ran it and steam as an administrator, stuff of my pc, etc. i really don't want to start over since it was year 2 for my roommate and i.

this apparently happens when there is a problem with Steam (https://www.stardewvalley.net/multiplayer-troubleshooting-guide/). try opening your friends list in Steam, and then check that you're online

no, don't modify the file SaveGameInfo; instead, move the files SaveGameInfo and <Farm name>_<Number> somewhere else (because they're corrupted), and then copy the file SaveGameInfo_old to SaveGameInfo, and the file <Farm name>_<Number>_old to <Farm name>_<Number>. (you must copy both files because they're paired)

by the way, if your data is valuable, then you should be creating hourly backups on an external HDD 🙂

Is there a way to disable the controller constantly vibrating during fishing, but NOT when it starts off? I am using a Gulikit Kingkong controller, and unlike the joycons where it only vibrates when the fish hits the green bar, my 3rd-party controller vibrates during the entirety of the fishing minigame. I'm having a problem with the slingshot, every time i used them they just launch so fast like a bullet and clipped through everything no matter what ammo i loaded into the slingshot.
same issue occurs when using the master slingshot, the projectile just launches with super speed outside of the view and not hitting anything, now i cant even use them to damage monsters or shoot that golden walnut on ginger island.

Anybody here have encountered the same problem or knew how to fix it?

From personal experience, besides the fact that switch caps fps at 30. I've had cases playing at my significant others where fps drops to 0 when fighting a specific mob in the other mines. And it just loves to stutter

@gleaming nova 1. try changing your computer's display resolution to anything else (https://support.microsoft.com/windows/37f0e05e-98a9-474c-317a-e85422daa8bb), and then change it back
2. try booting Windows in safe mode (https://support.microsoft.com/windows/92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234), and then immediately restart Windows. this can sometimes fix random problems

Sorry I'm having an issue. After a lot of debugging I've found out that on the lastest 1.5.4 version SMAPI doesn't allow me to host a multiplayer game. If I don't use SMAPI, then my friend can join, when I install it, even without having mod, even with only having it installed and just running stardewvalley.exe, my friend cannot enter. Is it a common bug?

i think i broke my game completely. i tried verifying the game integrity of the files and then reinstalling the game completely and then installing it again as well as uninstalling all of my mods but it still doesn't work at all. Yes, but I've seen that it's also affecting people who aren't using mods. I've also tried to remove all of my mods to see if that was the case, as that was my first thought.

I read somewhere that I can fix it by removing something in the game save (The NewLevels section is what they say), but, I have no clue how to do that, and when I tried, it completely removed my save xD

Day 25 of Winter, Year 4, giving Evelyn a Tulip for Winter Festival. She says her lines, then the screen fades like it's going to go to where I get my gift, then the app closes because of a problem.

Hey peeps. I've started a new playthrough with mods the other night, but when I tried to open the gamethis time it didn't work at all. Not the modded .exe or vanilla game. I've tried every single solution I could find online. Reinstalled XNA multiple times, restarted computer, updated my audio drivers, verified game files,even looked through this discord's related messages. Everything. And it all happened after I updated SMAPI and a few mods to latest versions.

imo it’s still pretty good (i play on ipad as well as pc), just a portable less updated version of the game SDVpufferthumbsup -i do use a wireless controller for mobile though, not the touch controls

Game randomly quit when we hit ok to end day, did not save so lost the entire day. We were going to hit 2mil dollars - not sure if that had anything to do with it

this is a community server, we can't do anything to fix game bugs. it sounds like what most likely happened is that the SaveGameInfo file or the save itself were corrupted while saving. loading the backup from the previous day is exactly the right thing to do in this case and it's the only option usually

Hey guys, so a few friends and I play vanilla co-op on Steam, and we have a bug where when we go to sleep at the end of a day, all of us except the host crash or have to leave before the day advances. I have a theory, but there's not much backing to it.

Hello, I've been wanting to ask about the music in the android version of the game because up until now the music still has not returned and some of the ambience is also becoming funky because i can hear birds while it is raining which I'm pretty sure should not be happening

Has anyone experienced their saved file completely erasing for no reason? I never hit delete and didn’t start a new game. My old file completely deleted, never could get it back. I was on year 5 and lost so much. 😕

I think I tried a long time ago to find the file and nothing showed up. There’s two files, one has nothing in it and one is my current game. Thanks for the help anyway. 👍🏼

heey, I expanded my house recently in the game to the last possible expansion, the one that increases a baby room. After doing that, a bed came out of nowhere, and I can't use it, or move it. I already have a bed, but the one that appeared doesn't allow to the other one to stay where it was originally. I checked if the problem is caused by the mods, but even after I delete them, the bed was still there.
I'm not sure if it's possible to understand cuz my english is not that good, but anyways... please help me 😦

Hey! Me and my SO have really big problem in online coop. I play on linux and she plays on windows, both through Steam. The one who doesnt host the farm cant pickup items for whole one or two minutes if s/he like mined a stone. The loading screens sometimes are very long, like almost stuck on "waiting for players 2/2 " screen. Especially in the mines if we go together I (she mostly host the farm) mine the stones, but cant pickup anything then she also mines it because they arent mined on her view, and one other example is I cut a lot of trees one day and went to bed, after about one in game hour she sees me as still cutting trees. These makes the game unplayable unfortunately. We both dont face any issues on single player, we tried remote play together feature of steam but that had other issues like low resolution. And just as a side note, we are not on the same network, (it is an ldr).
