Hey I have been having issues with my game just dropping to 1 fps randomly often enough to make the game frustrating. I have tried multiple things online such as uninstalling and reinstalling the game and xna both of which did not work. I tried to change the affinity in task manager change the priority with nothing. I have found a fix online that relates to downloading a config or something for xna but I cant find the file anymore online only found the fix on forums with no workable link. any help would be amazing

As for your other issue, I'd suggest removing startup_preferences in %appdata%\StardewValley

Next time you're playing, could you check the core usage in task manager? (Performance Tab, then right click on the CPU graph > Change Graph To > Logical Processors)
Keep an eye on this while you're playing, and see if any of the graphs max out to 100%.
SDV is a single core game, so if it maxes out it means that your machine simply isn't powerful enough.
Another reason could be that a different program is using the same core, more often of the time the perpetrators are Windows update, antivirus scans and automated backups. So make sure you've updated, that your AV isn't doing automatic scans, and your backup is done at inactive times.

Hi guys! I'm having some trouble with my deluxe scarecrow on the beach map, anyone else? There is a screen shot of the crop that went missing and the coverage (using the mod "Data Layers") of my scarecrows. No crow was seen, the crop just went missing. I'm having this problem in all my beach maps and I honestly don't know what can be causing it. The only mod I have that alters that map is "[CP] Larger Beach Farm" but I don't see how it would impact on the scarecrows function. Also, I have no mods that replace, add or modify scarecrows in any way. Help?
(ps: i didn't mark the missing crop but it is right on the edge of the deluxe scarecrow's range, easy to find on the third image)

It's a fairly known bug though, I doubt it'll ever get fixed as its origin is ambiguous, and it'd require CA to invest quite a bit of time to locate it.

Your problem. It's just the generic "my crops disappeared" bug that's been reported a lot.

You figured it'd be because of the scarecrow range, but like you said, you saw no crow. And it isn't a dead crop. It's likely a coincidence that it was just on the edge of the deluxe scarecrow.

Well, I'd say you're right but on my other save I was having that problem a lot, so I replaced all my sprinklers (I was using a mod to allow beach sprinklers) with prismatic sprinklers (mod prismatic tools, they work as a lamp and a common scarecrow) and I never had an issue again. Then I tested replacing it all with simple scarecrows and still no problem

That many a day sounds like a mod problem tbh. But the rest of it sounds like confirmation bias. Or perhaps I'm entirely wrong and the rarecrow wiki information is incorrect and not tested well enough.

I experienced a bug where I was in co-op. Then I triggered the mine cutscene with Marlon. Then my friend, the host, triggered the Community Center cutscene. After the cutscenes, I was spawned outside the area map inside the level 0 of the mines...?

More or less a known bug. Double cutscenes cause players to warp, only way to deal with it is to pass out. :c

Could check to see where the bottleneck is, like keeping an eye on the Performance tab in task manager (make sure to set the graphs to single core / logical processors).
Could see if there's any updates to be done, if your antivirus might be scanning, if there's a possible backup going in the background.
Could check what's all running in the background, and disable some of the programs that start at Startup (also a tab in task manager).
Could restart your machine before starting the game and see if that makes any difference.

You can do that with Notepad, a simple program on every windows computer. It'll open up the save as a text file, at which point you use the search function to search for specific "tags" like <money> which contain a value that you can change.

Right click one of those files that open like that, properties, then in the properties near the top it says "Opens with", and you can select what you want to open the file with. It simply registers on windows what application should be used when you open .xnb files.

There's no harm in having them open in notepad, but you can't really do anything with the files either, that's just how they're supposed to look like as text. (It's compiled code/data after all)

Right. Small tip for next time; which might just happen sooner than later due to things being messed up, you should only have 1 Windows installation. okay so me and a friend are playing multiplayer, we're in skull caverns, playing modded, but none of our mods should affect what's happening, i keep getting random prismatic shards popping out of nowhere out of walls and stuff, and now this has happened. they're IN the walls, off the playable map, can anyone help explain this?

my little siblings are having some crashing when playing split-screen 2 players. No mods. I've taken a look at the three error files and all three are "Message: The scissor rectangle is invalid. The scissor rectangle cannot be larger than or outside of the current render target bounds.", so I think it's probably some kind of resolution issue. They were running windowed mode and then hitting full screening. I notice that the resolution selector in options is greyed out (1260x1024) - would switching to full screen or windowed borderless be sufficient, or is there a way to edit a config file somewhere to correct the resolution?

that button is for split-screen local coop. are you trying to play online multiplayer with someone?

For users having problems accessing wiki pages, the workaround is to add ?action=purge to the end of the url (hit enter), then click "ok" to purge cache. The page should display normally, even if you are logged out.

this is a small glitch and i just wanted to put it out somewhere. It was raining in summer and i went to talk to ||Leo (outside of his house), but his text was him saying he was happy you were back on the island even though i was in the valley||

Has anyone else noticed a glitch on the switch where the grid of open spots you can place items in the museum becomes disorientated after changing your zoom/UI? I have also noticed other small glitches like the exclamation point that appears when fishing is way out in the water

Hmmm I will have to check that. I know when I originally changed them i was in the secret forest fishing and I couldn't see the bottom half of the bar so I just put it back to normal and it fixed that issue, but the other two stuck around. Its not a huge issue I just thought I would see if it was just me

Yes, the code changes each session. If you don't want to bother with that, I'd suggest just right clicking on their name in steam and joining game through there.

Ha! PC would definitely be the best option, but we don't have our main PC connected to our TV. 🙂 If PS4 has no stuttering, I'm seriously considering starting over there. Only problem is that we are playing 6-8 hour sessions and the PS4 controllers lose battery after 4. : /

Editing a save file shouldn't make you lose progress. Don't suppose steam popped up with a message asking you if you wanted to use the cloud files or local ones?

Then it's likely that your save from the steam cloud overwrote your current save, normally it's supposed to give a message box that'll ask you if it should overwrite.

Not too sure on how to avoid that from happening, but with any manner of editing saves you should always make a backup first.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the steam cloud synchronizes upon starting up the game. So if you start the game (leave it at the main menu), then edit the save (don't forget a backup) and then load your save, it'll likely work flawlessly.
