Somehow when i was playing multiplayer on pc i guess i did something wrong and caused each level up in foraging fishing etc. to show up every day after that and im confused since it should only show the level up screen that one night, this happened on both vanilla and with mods so im not sure whats the issue

I was playing multiplayer with SMAPI and on day end we all got stuck on a black screen and only one player had this message in the log and that was the end of it

what steps did you follow? you should be able to fix it by disabling cloud saves for SDV in steam, then going back to your saves folder and removing _STARDEWVALLEYSAVETMP from any files that have it. a correct save folder has four files inside: farmname_numbers, farmname_numbers_old, SaveGameInfo, and SaveGameInfo_old

i've had a bug since day one of 1.5 with the workbench 1.4 thingy, i don't know if it's from 1.5 or 1.4. i mess with my chests and put items in and sometimes the workbench opens up for a frame and then i cant right click on it until i place it back in the same place and right click all of the chests until it doesnt say "one chest is being used" or whatever

The game (or underlying framework) does not deal well with audio devices disconnecting, so if your speakers are built-in to the monitor and it powers off or a bluetooth audio device turns off it can do that

If you right click on stardew on steam, then click on properties, the window that will pop up will show steam cloud, if there is an amount of data stored there you might be able to get your save back

I tried to follow the instructions - go to the ~/.config/StardewValley/Saves bit but there was only one file - AcornMeadow_269216642. nothing with the _old. So I tried to look in the SMAPI saves-backup folder and there was one that I unzipped into the ~/.config/StardewValley/Save bit but still nothing happened when I loaded the game.

i appear to be having an issue where some vanilla sprites are missing. first it was just the side view of the live crabs, but now the dwarvish and dragontooth weapons are invisible. it only seems to be affecting a few vanilla sprites, mostly new weapons from what i can tell. i tried verifying the game files but that didnt work. any idea what my next step should be?

Hi. I have issue with greenhouse. I cant enter it and i saw that the stone entrance should be in front of the door. I dont use any mods and i tried reinstal the game and verify files on steam and nothing helped. Maybe it is, because i installed Czech language and create the game with this language, and it was bugged from the beginning. :/

In other news, I've come across a game crashing bug in 1.5.4. While Fishing at the Legendary spots during the Extended Family quest with +6 Fishing buffs (Seasoned Seafoam Pudding and Master rod) and +2 luck (Lucky Ring and Ginger Ale), the game randomly freezes and crashes mid-fishing game.

I've managed to replicate this 15 times now, but don't know the exact cause.

Okay. That is very weird and indicates a significant bug. If you're on Steam, try verifying game files, or otherwise try reinstalling, is all I can really say. I think your save files should be safe but back them up beforehand incase I'm wrong.

Also probably report on the Stardew Valley forums.

Farmer/Farm named file is the actual save. SaveGameInfo is only used for the summary on the loading screen

There have been some trouble with the walnut bushes with some mods and there have also been some miscounting issues but those usually appear differently in checkup. In worst case some save editing or debug commands can be used if it winds up blocking you from perfection

If you just need to increase the count and don't mind checkup's summary being inaccurate you can just do debug testnut in the smapi console which will spawn a walnut at the upper-left of the map that will float to your farmer and collect it. Do that for as many as you need to fix the count.

Yeah, go to #archived-modded-support for that. It can break things though as some implementations of that feature will cause the crops to only be harvestable by scythes for everyone.

I recently started having very annoying stutter issues in Stardew Valley.

I think roughly a week ago everything was fine and now all of a sudden the game has random framedrops so frequently that it is quite unplayable, for me at least.
I have tried messing around with settings, verifying the game files, and reinstalling the game (including installing the game to a different drive), but no luck this far.
Task manager isn't showing anything suspicious. Other games, which I would expect to be more resource-demanding, are still running as well as usual. Graphics card drivers are up to date. SMAPI used to be installed, but is not anymore.

Some PC specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6GB (MSI Gaming X)
RAM: 2x8 GB 2666 MHz Kingston HyperX Fury Black

Have you checked performance through task manager per core? As SV is a single core game, and it won't show anything irregular in CPU percentages.

huh, now I tried forcing Stardew to run on a different core and that seems to fix the issue, at least this far, since I obviously haven't been able to do a lot of testing yet

The issue seems to be fixed.
The reason I am not certain is that I also restarted my PC, so maybe the problem might reoccur and is just temporarily gone.
Anyway, I guess thanks for now!
I had tried reinstalling the XNA framework before as that was a common result in google when searching this issue, but that didn't help before, so maybe reinstalling the .NET framework did it, if the issue is indeed fixed now.

Hello there! I don't know if it's a common issue or not, but does anyone know anything about the game stuttering after the last update?
I hadn't played it since the last update and I just tried to, and it's been massively stuttering every 10-15 seconds
I never experienced this issue before, and I have 300hrs into the game using the same pc.
It only started happening after the last update.
Oh and also I don't use mods or have I ever installed any.

After checking the link I did find the invite code, I was just a little dumb. But my friend still can't connect to me for some reason, we went through all the steps on the troubleshooting link and they keep getting the error "Connection failed"

I confirmed it being present on the save file and triggered by an old version mod, so I figured 2 things could "easily" be tried. First being making a quick and dirty mod that physically replaces the greenhouse entity and resaving. (Though I realize upon typing this maybe an editor can be tried)
The other is to spoof the save version on the save file to perhaps trigger whatever script changes the 1.4 greenhouse to the 1.5 greenhouse (presuming this is even a thing), also entirely presuming that the greenhouse entity in the save isn't entirely messed up. Seeing you have the save file reader, I don't suppose you'd know of a quick and dirty way to do the version thing?

The mod basically completely replaces game files from one of the other languages, so anything that was newly added with the last update is likely to be missing. Most likely it is the Blueprints file not having the greenhouse definition that is the root cause of what you were seeing. You may also be missing data for new items and such. If they had instead just used Content Patcher to replace individual text entries these problems could have been avoided. If you send me a copy of the save I will look into possible fixes, but I expect you will see other problems unless the mod is updated.

They most likely have that as well. Rather than picking and choosing what fields to read and write, it is often easier to just dump the whole data structure into the save file. Keep in mind this game was originally written by 1 guy learning how to make games but that approach (often more of a memory dump than a text-based data-structure dump) is common. And the amount of work (and potential trouble) that would come from changing that later means it is not going to change.

Question regarding something in 1.5
||Anyone else have Leo go out of bounds in his treehouse then stop living in the valley entirely? I thought it was the Diverse mod that did it because of an extra npc that stands in Linus's tent, but I got rid of the npc on a new save and the same thing seems to have happened.||

||I know he visits the island on Sundays and Mondays, but now he doesn't seem to be leaving the island at all. There's no crash or error in my SMAPI log about it so that's no help. I guess I just wanted to know if this is a bug in the vanilla game that others are dealing with or if one of my mods is somehow to blame. Thanks!||

Day after he moved in I couldn't find him at all, then the day after that he was out of bounds. Then it was Sunday/Monday and it made sense for him to be on the island and he hasn't left the island since.
