So I noticed the wiki mentioned that the 3 bars for eye, hair, pants color are HSV. Hue normally ranges from 0 - 360 but the first bar for SDV’s Hue goes from 0 - 100.

i'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this bug, but i've built the || island house on the island || and have been using it without any issue, but when i woke up the next day in-game, the || island house had returned to its previous state (all broken/unrepaired) and my shipping bin is just a lid. I also can't go inside my island house. || Restarting my game fixes this issue, but I've had it happen a few times and was wondering if anyone knew of a more permanent fix. spoiler tags are for new 1.5 content :)

Hi, I recently got a new laptop and I downloaded steam on it. When I went to play the game on the new laptop, it says that i'm on year 3 and a bunch of my data has been deleted on my main save file. I was originally on year 4 and I had a lot of stuff that is now missing. Does anybody know what the problem is or how to get my data back?

If you can't find anything, you could upload your save and I could add some items to it if you want, but if there is no save file I don't know how we could make one.

If the save file existed but is broken we could fix it, but if the problem is you don't have the save file, I'm not sure what they can do 😦 We could edit it to change/add/remove things but not restore it as it was, since it seems to be just an earlier version...

yeah, it's not intended for those to be planted there, so it's possible that the ginger spawns could be overwriting your saplings. i've got it logged in our bugs list and we'll probably figure out a fix for it for the next patch!

hmmm, i'm not sure. you could try disabling the xbox game bar, or making sure to close it if it's opened (maybe try pressing the xbox button again? i'm not entirely sure how it works), but we don't have any code in the game that behaves differently depending on whether you're using the button for big picture mode or the game bar

Is that feasible within 6 days? From what I'm reading the only reliable source of hardwood is the secret woods which only produces 12 hardwood per day. This totals to 72 hardwood after 6 days.

It's from a nightly event, like the fairy or witch. They used to be very rare because of a bug, but that is fixed. Gameplay questions are better off in #stardew-valley or #stardew-spoilers though :)

steam can be very picky about steam usernames with SDV, i'm not really sure why but things like having an underscore, the name being too long or the name having part of something steam thinks is a "bad word" can keep you from being able to connect in MP

Curious question. (spoiled because new beach map)

I've not played Stardew valley since early June. I wiped all my save files so I could start fresh.

I made a new file on the new beach map, and the moment I got the fishing rod I was excited to get my skill up (because I pride myself being good at fishing, its how I make all my money)

It is day 5.... first time fishing. How the actual heck is it possible I already have gold and iridium fish? This should not be possible.... unless.... they... changed? something?

I've fished for a long time, this was never a thing in all the time I've played even when getting perfect scores (and some of these were not perfect at all)

And no, I have no mods in stardew whatsoever

@zinc hornet Make sure your launch options are empty. (Right click the game in library, properties, erase anything in launch options.) If you'd ever installed SMAPI you would probably have set it to launch SMAPI from Steam.

Since you were using mods, you should probably reinstall SMAPI and play for a day without any mods installed so SMAPI can clean up your save from all the stuff you removed. A good topic for #archived-modded-support if you need any help :)

I completed Willy's a while ago and while I was playing, I realized I never got a blueprint from him (For that quality bobber). I checked to see if I received a letter, and the only one I think it is, is "Willy's thank you". I can't tell however, since the letter just says "-willy" like when they sign their name off. I think I found a bug with one of Clint's quests. When requesting 30 copper ore, he will take it as a gift rather than the quest objective. I'm not sure if I'm at fault, the game, or one of my mods.

Hey! Since 1.5 the schedules from Pam, Leah and Elliot don't seem to work anymore. Pam won't go to the bus station and Leah and Elliot just don't leave their houses. They did everything before - but not anymore.
Is this a known issue? Is there anything I can do - without starting a new game?

Hello! I am having the (apparently classic) issue where I press play on steam and then the game "starts" but nothing happens. I can press play again after under a minute of waiting, and regardless of how many times I press play, the game does not actually launch.

I did follow these instructions from the Wiki

"The game doesn't open when you try to launch it. (If you use Steam, it might show 'running' for a few seconds.) Here are some common fixes:

So... I have some achievements in stardew that arent registering on steam. Example, I have Millionaire, but not Greenhorn. And Ive definitely reached the bottom of the mines, but I didnt get the steam achievement for that.
is there a way to fix this or am I going to have to do another full playthrough?

okay, i can't see anything wrong with the save file, but i do remember a similar bug being reported on the forums. the error log has this line:

are you actually on windows NT? a couple of the people in the thread weren't, but the game was registering that they were for some reason

you will need to either do another full playthrough with steam in online mode and running through steam, or use SMAPI to give yourself achievements with debug commands

I am still having no luck with planting ||banana and mango|| saplings on the Ginger Island farm 😦 I have 3x3 cleared tiles, untilled. It just keeps telling me that the item can't be placed there. They grow just fine on my Stardew farm and in the greenhouse.

Can you try deleting startup_preferences ? On Windows it's in %AppData%\StardewValley

Can you see but not access the whole thing, or is half of it blank? (Windows/Mac/Linux?)

this is such a tiny issue but is anyone else having an issue where there's blank pixels in some of the shirts? (see the white pixel in this image)

edit: fixed it with a small content patcher mod. but its in the base game files. there's a pixel missing from it. its not the only shirt with the issue

I've been playing in the last few days the game after the update (1.5.1) with my friend in a co-op online save, a fresh new one, cause the old one didn't lauched in co-op.
So today we made a plenty of effort to play and the co-op won't connect. He says the game keep in a screen saying "Connecting" and then "connection failed". We tried connecting both PC on cable internet (I used to play on wi-fi, but I tought it could be an issue now), reinstalled the game, restarted the game, ours internet modems and PC several times... What could possibly be wrong??? We both playing steam for windows version of the game
We changed our names as suggestes before in here, and didn't worked

@stray dirge Does it leave a crash log? If you're on Windows your ErrorLogs folder would be found in %AppData%\StardewValley , same as your Saves folder.

Hey y'all. IDK who is available to help me here but, I just finished updating the mods that needed updating.

What's odd is that in my log:

smapi.io/log/bc70779a1bc84677aed4ae314dcfc9f3

It says for me to update the Fruits & Veggies Legacy for CP and the More Food Recipes for Json Assets. But I just updated them all already so why are they still appearing in my log?

Ideally you'd share both logs yeah, so we can see if the connection attempt is being made. I don't really have a lot of hope that there will be killer information in them, so it's just kind of gathering information. You could also see if you can join the other way around. Like I said earlier, network troubleshooting is such a pain that at some point I would just try LAN connect either via port forwarding or Hamachi if you've already tried all the usual steps...

Ah alright, it's hard to tell from random ping, so context would still be good though. I didn't catch that it worked before though, so that's good to know. (I thought "the old one didn't lauched in co-op" was for pre update too :) )

Hey I have a lag problem. So basically, I've been playing the game without any problems for a few weeks now, but when I played it earlier today, I came across lots of lag in the town, in some places in my farm and some places in the mines. I tried repairing Microsoft XNA, I tried restarting my pc and I tried reinstalling the game, but nothing worked. I don't think it's a problem with my pc, because as I said, it used to run the game just fine and when I check my task manager, I can see that my pc runs the game just fine, yet it still lags. Any one have any idea how to fix it?

What's the backend process behind hosting a multiplayer game? Is the game actually hosted from the hosts device? Or is it hosted somewhere else on a server

by far the biggest issue i think there is with multiplayer is that the game can NOT handle even a moderate to small amount of lag

I want to play again, did a fresh install to update all my content folders, and installed Vortex and SAMPI. When I launched my old game, though, the mods I'd installed to test (2cutegreenhouse) didn't work. Is my old save a total wash?

I don't know about it that well, but I guess it's some kind of mod collision... JUST A GUESS. Maybe you downloaded some mods that can add some new items in your farms before, and that may cause collision with your save data...

Okay so I have an old, old old old file of Stardew Valley. I have mastered EVERYTHING in the game, got every achievement, except for one: Stardrops. Methinks the Patch 1.3 glitch killed my ability to register having acquired all the stardrops, because it won't trigger the achievement when all other achievements have been reached. Is there anything I can do to salvage this file that I worked so hard on?

Is there something broken? I am playing two modded saves on 1.5 both with the same mod set-up. In one it let's me plant stuff on the Ginger island farm area but in the other I cannot. It just tells me "must be planted on farm". I have not yet rebuilt the sleep cabin. Did I do something wrong, have I somehow broken something, or do I need to 'switch on' the map as a farm? Save 2 has a modded farm map, but disabling that did not help.

sorry, it's me again. I just lost a huge mining day from stepping away for a second, I just got up to turn on the lights (like two seconds) and I'm honestly so frustrated because it keep happening, like 1 out of five in-game days I keep having to redo at some point because it goes unresponsive.

I think this time it happened when I unplugged my headphones during the day transition so I didn't yank them when I got up, but why should unplugging my headphones freeze the game so unresponsive I have to use task manager? And the other freezes I haven't touched my headphones at all.

Is there any known solution for this? I'm getting to the point I just don't want to play anymore.

Hi, take a look! Yesterday when I run the game, it was weirdly zoomed out, so I zoomed in by 50% or something. And now if I run the game, it looks like it zooms back in, but the settings that were set higher by 50% are still being set, so the game is zoomed in too much, which makes it unable to go in options..... I did recently backup of my save an now am I going to try to reinstall the game and see if this will fix the game

Update: So I tried to reinstall the game, and it's still zoomed in...

Okay guys, I got it. So basically, by hacking my own savefiles (just opened a file using Atom editor, and searched for "zoom" in the file. Found two places, where I could set both zoom and UI scale to 1.0) I was able to fix the problem
