Hey WindroseCrew, i have just finished the demo and been toying around for a bit, i just want to say that this is one of the best Pirate game, putting Skull & Bones to shame, incredible amount of content for a demo, great graphics, good gameplay, the interface is well done, crafting and building mechanics is really really good, and on top of that, to helm the Boats, thats a nice feeling. I am waiting for the full release and i am looking forward to buy the game as soon as it launches, amazing work.

you can dodge the charge without dashing if you walk 90deg to the boar when their eyes flash. once you get the rhythm down they are almost easier than regular boars... unless there are many

normally i kill them by baiting the charge then attacking when they are flipped. i was so accustomed to that pattern that i told a friend that the charging boars dont seem to do the thrash attack the normal boars do. i was wrong and my friend died. they will thrash if you dont keep distance.

Windrose is fully playable solo offline or in co-op with friends, supporting up to four players, with both self-hosted and dedicated servers available. Procedural generation will make each journey stand out, but if you prefer just one character, the progress is carried over between different worlds.
That's currently on the game's Steam page at least 🤷‍♂️ but I guess we'll see a bit closer to release

There's already a guy who's managed to spin up a dedicated server, despite it not actually being supported, and get 10+ people on it. Older tests (before the demo) were done as high as 20 people, from what I understand. 4 was a stability choice for the demo.

Its a minor miracle if I can actually get a full barrage to hit my target. Best tip is when you are close enough for cannon fire, lower your sails a little. It will sharpen your turning radius and get you into a better firing position faster ✌️

It' s all about the character, if your character already completed everything then that character when it goes to other worlds the character will have everything unlocked. If you make a new character despite exploring the world you just explored, the progress will reset

A couple of us have given feedback on diving at sea, and the dev's could develop that as swimming is already in. Will have to wait and see if it comes up in Early Access or if it goes on Roadmap or not after Early Access launch.

I've found the most success just by constantly telling people I meet that I'm an actor. You never know who you're talking to. Did VO for a game demo because my friends husband's cousin was a dev. When I worked retail, I had coworkers tell me about a movie opportunity that ended up being my first on-camera role. (Dresden Sun with Christina Ricci and Stephen Ogg on Amazon and Tubi 😂)

I've met devs who pass game such that files include a unique digital fingerprint. if the files are leaked, devs can check the fingerprint and know EXACTLY who leaked the files. then they can sue for damages and breaking of contract 🙂

Demo will run until Early Access and demo is ruffly only about 5% of what will be in Early Access. Explore able area of Archipelago in demo is only about 2.5% of what will be in Early Access. As far as price and packages, that will most likely follow Early Access Release info.

Also, characters, items and buildings will not transfer to the Early Access, it is part of the demo – different client, different game builds. So enjoy playing the demo for now until that time 🙂

A lot of systems are connected to content that are not in the demo. Turning things on that are connected to other quest, exploration areas you can't get to, recipes and items in those areas would just cause things to break. Two different game builds and Clients. The demo will stand as it is until Early Access. It has served it's purpose to get a lot of feedback for the Early Access and a lot of fixes on connectivity issues and bugs. You can have fun playing in the demo until Early Access 🙂

It’s definitely one of those games you’re gonna need some time off for to sink your teeth into it. Me and my buddy started off playing together but after he got off I went on a solo world and kept going. 10/10 so far, can’t wait for full release.

I can only assume it was intentially out of reach. so just build a quick scaffolding. it cost almost nothing and you get the mats back.

And one more question. About the steering. Will it be as is or are there open plans to tweak it a bit? The wheel reset is a little bit janky. Maybe like the Valheim approach where wheel control can be manually adjusted and kept as its set?

According to Mugthief the Crimson Desert combat is very complex, many button combos to perform combat moves and for some bosses certain combat moves are basically required to win .. Not my jam
