considering they are "polishing" things up, dosen't seem to be too long.

chances are they'll announce it 1-2 months before EA, before the end of the year, or even before half the year... (I don't think they'd release it late)

strategically speaking, its also an EA, so its not a fully finished game, so it'll be releasing early enough where its functioning... and the rest of 2026, they'll still be working on it, fixing, adding and maybe even remove some things to eventually finish tidying up.

As far as I can tell, all the animals and "vegetables" respawn over time, but the ressource nodes, like breakable rocks, trees, ferns and palm trees don't respawn. I haven't quite figured out if the single rocks and the branches you pick up off the ground and beaches respawn or I've just been sloppy in my hovering, since I seem to constantly come across more of them in areas I was sure I already looted dry.

I also do hope the targeting system gets worked on a bit! Fighting multiple targets feels a bit awkward when you're locked on to one target in middle of battle, then having to struggle and try to lock on to the next. Some kind of auto lock on to close targets would be nice!

yeah you still try take one at a time but if you are locked its hard to avoid the others

on land its pretty easy to pull one pirate at a time too, just stand off till one notices you then back up a bit, the others dont seem to assist

so this is something the demo doesnt lead you into super well. it tells you to make boots, but it skips that you can upgrade your armor and weapons in their workbenchs

Side and back dash are your friend. Try to get one enemy to follow you and go one on one.

I like the idea of a long press heavy attack over a second binding. As it stands, you can dual wield a sword and pistol and just use the aim button. I bound aim and dodge to my forward/back side mouse buttons, respectively.

my biggest thing with the building is trying to do it "themed" to be realistic to what buildings you would expect. shabby run down wooden constructs that were slapped together by a few former deckhands. not everything should be pristine. the closer to the water you get, the more rundown the buildings should be.

The leather/skin from the pigs and copper were my biggest holdups, but I've not done much building. I expect wood would be a bottleneck for that, as the amount you get from trees feels a little low.

pearls is the most grindy, wood is next, but the gap is huge between pearls and wood.

i can get 200 stone from 1 copper run.

leather i can go kill boars, and get like 20 leather in 15 minutes.

you don't need it much right now. but just saying if you had to farm them, it's a bit harder. because you need to run on the beaches and pick up clams that are scattered every 20 meters, and you only have a 1/4 or 1/8 chance of getting a pearl from the clam.

but you could potentially get sulfur, if you're good at aiming with your ships cannons. plus trees can be "cut down" with ship-cannons too.

Right, but we currently only have solid shot and chain/bar shot. Neither of which are going to cause any "splash damage" outside of potential splinters if your shot did already connect with the enemy ship. None of that occurs if your shot misses the guy on the beach and bounces off the sand.

Not really. Progress is saved to your character, so if you make a new world, you'll have no quests to do, though you can explore and loot and everything all over again with your end of the demo stuff.

Land combat is not easy. Enemies deal a bit too much damage and you can get stun-locked too easily, IMHO. Still, it gets easier as you learn enemy attack patterns and practice at it. Better weapons really help too.

Characters are saved separately from worlds.

meta-data is data about data, thus that data is propably stored elsewhere and there's very high likelihood that there are checksums that must match and changing the saves name or even how many saves there are, messes up the checksums and data retreival... so basically unless devs give you tools to amanage saves, you can't.

works in other games, you just create a new world. that creation makes a new folder and data inside. then you transfer the data from the save you want to duplicate into that new folder.

You can join any world with your character.

there is another method i can try. save the world. drag it outside my save folder.

now put a copy in the save folder.
destroy every resource. carry it in character.
and then log off.

now remove the destroyed world.
and bring back the world i made a copy of.
