It also takes out some of the stress when you have a goal set in mind, admittedly. If you want the 1 million, you do until the 1 million without much of a second thought. Still some stress once you get close, since all it takes is a bad draw to take it all away from you.

Not too common and probably doubtful for a normal playthrough. For one, you need to not use the beer or the cigarettes at all. Also you can't die at any point, with the first round being a bit tricky to get through (I think close to a 40% chance to die there).

1/3 chance you take the first bullet, then next load I think was 3 live 2 blank.

Yo, Item concept:

Hooded Cloak

This item would work similarly to the Adrenaline, but instead of stealing an item, it temporarily disables one item from an opponent or the dealer. When you use the Hooded Cloak, you choose an item from the targeted player (like his Magnifying Glass as an example), and that item is hidden under the table for one turn. During that turn, the affected player cannot use the hidden item, but they can use it again in their next turn.

winning round 1 gives 70k, round 2 gives 75k, round 3 gives 80k

so yes you'd get 0 if you lose all three

that is why winning third round sometimes gets you a win, because 80k > 75k > 70k

obviously if someone wins 2 round consecutively then it would be 80k < 145k and you have a guaranteed loss

There's a certain few cases where it's a good move to self-shoot, but with no items in play the "I have X chance to skip the Dealer's turn" is an illusion that assumes you don't have Y chance to allow him free damage.

Never make risky play, try to control every shot.
Pay attention to the probability of every shot and always try to change the odds in your favor.
But the best thing I do to make high score is: MAKE THE DEALER SKIP AS MANY TURNS AS POSSIBLE! Even if you have to "waste" some object. Of course you have to think about the dealer's object and never get him a 100% chance to makes any damage at all.

"Make the Dealer skip as many turns as possible." That's the exact reasoning behind the strategy of "There's 4 blanks and 1 live, I should shoot myself a bunch since the first few shots are probably blanks".

You usually want the Dealer to not have turns, but don't be afraid to allow him some actions. Especially if there's more blanks, since he might blow his own head off.

it didn't take me that long to get a million after i started really trying for it, only like 5 attempts, but explaining my thought process would take way too long and smarter people probably already have, so i'll just give a tip.

don't underestimate medicine. seriously. think about this, there's 1 live and 1 blank, he's on 1 HP you're on 2 HP, but he has a saw. in any scenario where he has a saw and is basically guaranteed to kill you if he gets a turn, pop the meds. you'll die in one shot anyways, so if it fails it's not a big deal. if it WORKS however, now you're back in business, and that exact scenario happened TWICE in my million dollar run and meds saved my ass both times.

even if you don't use it though, consider letting him use it. dealer will ALWAYS pop meds as long as he's not at 1 HP, and he can't use cigs (his own or yours with adrenaline). It can screw you over big time if he gets it, but if he fails then you're in a really good spot. he brought himself down to 1 HP by using my meds in my million run, and it won me the round. He has a habit of using a cigarette to heal one, then using meds afterwards to try to heal more. so if you're thinking about stealing his cigs so he can't heal, you might just wanna let him use the cigs because he's got a 50% chance of just losing his health right back from the meds.

I just had the best run in the history of my gameplay of this video game... And my brain, oh my god my SPORADIC SILLY LITTLE BRAIN, picked up the SHOTGUN INSTEAD OF THE CUFFS, THE CIGARETTES, THE ADRENALINE, OR THE INVERTER.

To check how you play... If it's your turn with 1 live and 2 blanks, and there's no relevant items, what's your move? Shoot Dealer or self-shoot?

And what's the reasoning for picking that option?

...Well, the answer to that scenario is you shoot the Dealer. One might think "2/3 it's a blank, I self-shoot and skip the Dealer's turn". But in that case the next shot is a 50/50 of hitting the Dealer, and you risked a 1/3 chance to shoot yourself with the one live shot. Shoot the Dealer with the first shot, it's a 1/3 chance to hit him, or else he gets a 50/50 shot at you.

The 2nd shot of 1:1 is the same whether you shoot yourself or if the Dealer's holding the gun, so it's only beneficial to take the 1/3 shot on the Dealer.

Some tips include using Adrenaline to steal the Dealer's cigarettes (even if you're at full health), and recognizing ways to finish off the Dealer. Also try prevent the Dealer from getting a turn in low-shell loads (with handcuffs and beer), but don't self-shoot in most scenarios where you're not 100% certain it'll be a blank.

I think the lowest I've gotten was around 10,000 in Double or Nothing, so it always surprises me when I see the $10. Although maybe a little less surprising as I see it all the time.

It takes about 17 minutes to get down to $10, which is a very long time for 3 rounds. Can happen if you're playing super carefully, taking your time to think about every action, and also get unlucky with high max HP.

I tend to think quick enough on most of my turns. Played and watched enough stuff to know at least the general best moves, so I end up with as little downtime as possible.

Okay so what I've gathered in the few tips I've learned in this chat if I'm ever going to make it past 200k (my personal best, but I died and didn't cash out so it's not official), and correct me if I'm wrong:

• Never shoot yourself if the current shell and or entire loadout is unknown, always shoot the dealer.
• Control every shot and weigh out the numerical probability rates between blank & live rounds (which I already do.)
• Waste the Dealer's important/dangerous items in tight/end-game situations, even if it means sacrificing adrenaline or another item of your's.
• Don't underestimate Expired Medicine, don't be afraid to use it in tight/end-game situations, or save it for the Dealer to use which is a 50/50 to damage or heal them (which I found out he only uses it with 2+ HP, he never takes a chance on 1 HP.)

If there's any useful tips that any of you Millionaires have for me please feel free to share them.

One issue with this I think... You will have to use your items, even if the Dealer has cigarettes. Try to maximize damage against him, and just accept that he'll heal some of it back. Trying to save your items too much would result in you being unable to receive any new ones, thus wasting potential value.

what determines the starting score?

is it normal to be starting around 5000 or am I doing something wrong?

It's based around how fast you clear the first 3 rounds in Double or Nothing. It starts at 70,000, then starts depleting at 200 per 3 seconds as soon as you sign the waiver.

Just using your items somewhat sparingly. You'll want 8 different items on your side and no duplicates. An exception is adrenaline though, you'll want at least one and the Dealer to have all the items you don't have to make up for your limited slots.

So if you have two magnifying glasses, use one of them as soon as possible. Two adrenaline is fine, assuming the Dealer holds the remainder.

It's a pretty luck based achievement, and you don't really have much you can do aside from hope.

Instead of "1 live and 4 blanks, I have an 80% chance of skipping Dealer's turn", think "If I self shoot, I have a 20% chance of taking damage and giving Dealer a free advantage". Any shell could be the live, and self-shooting only increases the chance you hit the live. If the Dealer self-shoots, he's taking several chances to get hit for free.

Generally you will want to shoot the Dealer.

There are some less common cases where you would self-shoot, but it takes some extra skill to learn and recognize. Like if the Dealer has a saw, the gun has 1:1, and you're at 2HP. It's better to risk the first shot being live and taking 1 damage than risking shooting a blank at the Dealer for him to return 2 damage.

In a vanilla run (no mods), yeah, going 48 rounds takes a hell of a lot of skill and luck. Given an overall percentage chance of 90% to win one round, the odds are around 0.5%.

and yeah, meds being 50/50 as they are, need to use them sometimes, and other times, the dealer will win the meds several times

Something that really helps to manipulate the dealer is by trying make it so there are more blanks than lives on the dealers turn, since if there are more blanks than lives he will always shoot himslef

That helped quite a few times, where I would have died if the dealer weren’t stupid

yup that is a strat. Unless the dealer has knowledge of the shells, he will always shoot himself if there are more blanks than lives

that's why like even on a 1-3 or 1-4 on my turn, I will usually still shoot the dealer, and have him shoot himself a few times

I do need to give credit to Delightful Kissboy, drilling it into my head to never ever shoot myself (with few exceptions)

there are rare occasions where shooting yourself would make more sense, like, for example the dealer has a saw, there's one live left with a few blanks, and you're on 2 health. In that case, even if you shot yourself, you'd still be alive, as all the lives at the very least would be eliminated and you would survive to the next sequence.

but yeah, in most cases, it's best to shoot the dealer

the hard part of going the distance is dealing with the transition rounds, when the dealer is likely to have more items than you starting out.

so a strat I employ is trying to preserve adrenalines, so that not only I can steal an item, but it simply opens up more possibilities on the board.

Taking about 19 or more minutes gets you the minimum $10, surprisingly very common. Whether you're slow to plan your moves, going AFK for whatever reason, or the Dealer's able to keep healing and stall the rounds.
