Looks like it’s our turn to do one of these announcements, so let’s not beat around the bush.

WE’RE DELAYING BUCKSHOT ROULETTE’S STEAM LAUNCH UNTIL APRIL 4TH

This hasn’t been an easy decision for us, but we feel we had to do it for a few reasons.

Firstly, and most importantly — we just need a little more time to polish the new features. We know that Miyamoto’s quote about rushed games being bad forever isn’t really the case in 2024, but hey, we still think games should at least try to be done before shipping.

Secondly, pushing back the Steam release also makes it possible for Mike to come to PAX East with us to showcase Buckshot Roulette and meet you guys! (without having to crunch his ass off)
And that’s exactly what we’re trying to achieve here at CR Channel.

We may have some more surprises waiting for you in the near future, and we hope they’ll be worth the wait!

Meet the Tulpar Crew: Anya

“Honestly, yeah. It’d probably just make me feel sick. Wouldn’t fix anything… As much as I’d like it to.”

Anya is the sole medical personnel aboard the Tulpar, acting as the ship’s nurse. She has little experience or education in the role and even less resources to work with. Still determined to take the utmost care of the crew, she has adopted a dogged insistence on protocol. It doesn’t make her the most popular crew member, but she ultimately always has everyone’s well being in heart.

After the crash, Anya’s spirit of kindness and nurturing remains steadfast. The safety net of protocol has been wrecked along with everything else. The crew is quickly spiraling at the realization of their plight. With not much else but a few painkillers and shaky-legged resolve left, can Anya keep the crew in somewhat sound condition? Can she even do the same for herself?

Meet the Tulpar Crew: Daisuke

“I just never knew what I wanted to be. Never was good at anything. Total screw up.”

As a mechanic intern, Daisuke is on his first long-haul space flight ever. A laid-back and aimless young adult, Daisuke’s mom signed him up for the internship to try and coax him into pursuing a career path. Despite displaying little to no talent in the field of mechanics, Daisuke is unaffected by his mentor Swansea’s grouchy disposition and tackles each day with carefree optimism.

Through obtuse naivete, Daisuke remains hopeful as the crew is stranded. The gravity of their situation and the possibility of never going home again seems too dire of a concept for him to accept. The rest of the play along with his fantastical idealism for now, but this tenuous facade can only maintain for so long.

Swansea has spent many a year on space freighter hauls as a mechanic. The oldest and most experienced member of the crew, he knows this ship inside and out. For many years a hopeless drunk, having laboriously pieced his life back together, Swansea lives with unwavering determination and drive towards his work. He expects the same from his coworkers, with no patience for foolishness, inefficiency or errors.

The catastrophic failure of the shipment combined with having responsibility for a hopelessly daft intern have brought Swansea’s resolve to a tipping point. Unable to help fix the ship despite his wealth of knowledge gnaws at his carefully controlled temper. If only he had something to take the edge off.

We are extending our guest list for the BUCKSHOT ROULETTE Multiplayer Beta — and you are invited. So we’ll do the honors and say:

BUCKSHOT ROULETTE CR Channel Beta Begins Now.

And here’s how you can get access to it:

• First of all, you need to have Buckshot Roulette in your Steam Library. An obvious step, sure, but we wanted to point that out just in case.
• Then right click ‘Buckshot Roulette’ and open Properties
• Select ‘Betas’ and enter the access code into the ‘Private Betas’ window. The access code is: nOp5HZUutg3LwfLMlOMi
• Update the game if the download hasn’t begun automatically

Buckshot Roulette Multiplayer doesn’t have public matchmaking at the moment, so you will have to find people to play with the old-fashioned way — by making friends. You can invite other players to your lobby via Steam or with Lobby ID that is generated along with each lobby.

And if you still want to shoot (or get shot by) random strangers on the Internet, you can use the matchmaking bot at #│lfg-buckshot. Learn more about it at #🔄-lfg-settings.

Gifts to build relationships – most items can be gifted to help you get along with the characters, including the giant
Stealth to hide from the giant’s wrath – avoid the light and choose the right time to go for illegal options.

Hey! Soon we’re opening town’s doors for the first wave of playtesters!

We got A LOT of access requests, so we decided to divide our playtesters in two groups so that we can process all the feedback and properly implement changes based on it. First we’re going to have a Closed Playtest with the most experienced players, and soon after that we’ll have the Open Playtest for everyone who applied.

Use this FORM to apply to the Closed Playtest.

Please note that for the Closed Playtest we need the most eager of you. We expect you to play through the whole game multiple times and leave very detailed feedback. Your chances of being picked are higher if you participated in playtests of any games previously. If you want to simply try out the game – better wait for the Open Playtest, when the game will be updated based on the feedback gathered in the Closed Playtest.

If you get picked for the Closed Playtest, we’ll send you all the needed information to access the game.

If not – don’t worry! There will be the Open Playtest soon after the Closed one, and everyone who applied will get to play the game. Just stay tuned for our announcements.

• A district of the game’s town: filled with suspicious townsfolk, dangers and opportunities. Run while you can, either by goodwill or manipulation, brute force or sneaky schemes. Whatever you choose – the town remembers.

We’re preparing for a playtest that will take place on April 23, and you can sign up right now! You get a taste of detective work, and we get your feedback afterwards. Sounds like a fair trade, right?

Here’s what’s waiting for you:

• Free-form investigation – you’re given all the info, work with it as you see fit, no handholding.
• Couple of first cases – a murderous introduction and an investigation of the burned inn. You’ll see who you’re up against and make your first steps in the investigation.
• Fully equipped carriage – all the gadgets are at your disposal, look into the past, take photos and compile a case file.

Here’s what waits for you:

• Free-form investigation – you’re given all the info, work with it as you see fit, no handholding.
• Couple of first cases – a murderous introduction and an investigation of the burned inn. You’ll see who you’re up against and make your first steps in the investigation.
• Fully equipped carriage – all the gadgets are at your disposal, look into the past, take photos and compile a case file.

Get familiar with an Inquisitor’s duties, solve your first cases and catch perpetrators on camera! You can’t leave until you find out what happened to your predecessor.

As you all (probably) know, Burden Street Station is coming out on May 21st, which is, like, very soon. And we're continuing our celebration of this fact with some more news and a whole fan art contest!!!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. First of all, we wanted to present a special treat for everyone who's interested in the nitty-gritty details of the Burden Street Station world.

Please welcome: Burden Street Station Digital Zine!!!

This booklet is filled with a bunch of different fun details that will touch upon the art, worldbuilding and development process of the game. And it will be available completely free for everyone whose mind shelters a funky lil' world of Burden Street rent-free.

For now, we can't uncover the release date for this thingy, so stay tuned for that. What we can actually share is our plan to implement a big nod to our community in the booklet!

As a "thank you" for all of the support, the digital zine will include a page that highlights and credits 5 different pieces of fan art made by you! And here's where the contest steps in.

IT'S 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF ARCTIC EGGS!

Exactly two years ago a blizzard of uncooked eggs, cigarettes, cockroaches and pufferfish and bullets hit Steam.

Here's how Kevin (The Water Museum) remembers the release day:

To be completely open and honest, it freaks me out that it has already been two years. The day the game released it was around 12pm, I went on my lunch break for work, opened up the steam app to hit release, and then went right back to working.

I remember how unceremonious It all felt, so once again I want to thank everyone who saw it and made it special, because at the time I really had no idea if anyone would care at all.

In any case, thank you for following me on this journey. And making it possible in the first place.

And we join Kevin, thanking YOU as well! Time truly flies, and it's wild that two whole years have passed already -- but thanks to you every single day felt special. Thank you for giving "an odd game about frying eggs with cigs" so much support.
