All the time, really. I never use AI for design work, which is mostly what I do. It's just not useful. When I'm retouching/compositing/photofinishing, on the other hand, I use the AI tools in ACR and Photoshop constantly because they save time.

I pay for a standard Adobe account. I decided to try Firefly. Apparently ai video generation is considered a premium feature that doesn't come with the standard package. That's understandable considering the extra power, storage, etc. I used up the free credits in Firefly, then signed up for the $10/month plan for credits. I then generated 4 videos which were only 5 seconds each, at which time it said I was out of credits again. It can take a lot of trial and error to make a few seconds of video, so that seems extreme.

Boards is in an early stage of development, so far. It connects to various Firefly features, but as a concepting tool it's still very limited. You can't bring in color palettes in .ase files, can't connect to CC Libraries, can't connect to Stock. IT was originally talked up at MAX last October as Project Concept, and its main selling point (to enterprise customers) was collaborative mood boards, campaign ideation, etc. The collaboration is built-in, in other words.

Now is the time to let Adobe know what you'd like to see, how Boards could work better for you.

Random question but I shoot S-Log3 (XAVC S 4K, 100M 422 10bit) on my Sony a6700 and when I transfer my video clips to my computer I can't preview watch them unless i put them in Adobe premier pro. Pretty much Windows media player can't handle the file format?

I don't think there is a hard limit on "characters" per se. I believe Adobe recommends 175 words or less. Also, as with any model, tokens toward the end of the prompt carry less weight/importance.

Ahh. So it does not let you go over in the first screen, but once you get to the second screen, you can add in the rest.

In my experience the shorter you can make a prompt the better quality you’re gonna get, tho it sometimes doesn’t give you what you want if the prompt is too short. Its a balancing act

I notice anything that is PG-13ish rated and beyond get's a "We can't process this prompt" notication. For example for the prompt: "a man falling from a skyskraper" it stated that. Is this just a part of Firefly? Or is there some parentalesque thing I can turn off?

No. Its an AI that does moderation. You can't "turn it off." It runs every time you submit jobs for processing.

Each service/model has their own moderation. Google Image FX will disallow similar things as well.

If you want to generate pixels with zero restrictions and moderation, you need to run models locally on your own GPU.

I have been using this annual license for PS+LR for years. I need a lot of Firefly credits 3-4 months a year. The rest of the year, I hardly need these credits. Therefore, a continuous subscription for these credits is not suitable for me.

You would have to speak with Adobe Customer Care. I'm not an expert on all of the plans or what they might do in this situation. However, I don't think they allow purchasing of credits without some sort of subscription. Since you already have a Photography Plan, perhaps there is something they can offer. I'm not sure though. Hey there,
I have an abonnement of Photoshop for 1 month.
I used to do a lot with it like approx. 12 months ago and I used to limited genereative credits, however when I ran out of them, I could still create generative images, but it took a lot longer (queued behind people with credits).
Now I reenabled my abonnement and ran out of credits very quick. I now get a message that I need to upgrade my abonnement in order to use generative fill.
This is not only very expensive (on top of the already expensive monthly cost), but also is again quite limited in credits. Am I doing sth. wrong? How can I get to the point I was last year that I can generate a lot (with longer waiting times) ?

You're correct it's the model 3 currently in the public beta version of PS. I would expect model 4 to be integrated eventually, and probably the same as the current web-version where you can choose generative image models thats not Firefly.

I never take what the AI gives me and call it a day. AI generates concepts for me. It generates stock pixels that I then manipulate and make my own.

I generate pixels using any assortment of AI services and models. I gather these items together, much like you would if you were using stock art or stock photography. Then will combine them, mostly in Photoshop (creating image composites) but also other apps. These include, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Express or Adobe Premiere if I'm making a video.

Like I said, I haven’t checked in a while so today I had the idea and saw 4000 creadits and I believe at some point it was only 1000

I somehow still waiting for that set of emails informing me about that the plan will change, how it will change, how it will effect pricing and what are all the things I can do with the new subscription.

If you go to your Adobe Account, click on your profile pic and look at the Gen AI section where it shows your credits, "Premium Features" is clickable. It takes you right to the spot on the page that describes what Premium Features are.

There are AI tools that will take multiple inputs and combine them together for you. Many people do that. But you are giving up control over the layout and basically throwing the dice. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes not. Personally, if I'm going to call something "my work" then I'm going to be an active participant in the process. If AI is doing everything for you, is it really "your work"?

Some people don't have image composite skills and thus, they would probably want the AI to combine images and create the composite for them. That's fine and all but you're only passively engaged in the process, it seems to me.

You could simply assume that its happening because this is what happens. Someone makes a design that says: "Coffee is my love language" (either by making it in MS Paint or now generating it with AI). Then common sense would indicate that someone will get it printed on a mug and/or sell it on a website.

(Along with the thousand other words, pictograms and clichés that exist in popular culture.)

Try shortening the prompt and don’t add conflicting instructions. Minimalist and 3D is very different. Firefly also doesn’t understand verbs that good so avoid words as «creating», instead describe what you want.

Sure! It's always allowed to be inspired but not to steal, it's one of the basic rules of graphic design. And it saves you a lot of hassle. Photoshop is an app from Adobe. Its designed for image editing, creating image composites, etc. Combining two images together takes skill and you'll need to know quite a few things about the app before you begin. The first would be: installing the app and learning the basics.

Adobe has Behance which is a portfolio of sorts. Its really more of "project sharing" and social app for creatives. You do not control the layout of that. Only the layout of the posts. They also have Adobe Portfolio which allows you to configure the entire website, design, content, etc.

A lot of creatives aren't a fan of AI for image generation, which is why Shawn and I work hard to showcase workflows that incorporate Firefly, sometimes we just explore generating, but more often than not these days we're at least talking about how you might use Firefly beyond that. It's not going to be for everyone that's why we say it's sort of up to the individual to figure out if it makes sense for their work or not, we certainly don't pressure people, just provide an opportunity to see the tools in action.

Can someone tell me what happened to Firefly? I see they changed the plans and I have the paid plan, but with this change did they completely nerf the image 4 model in an attempt to force people to use credits on Ultra? It outputs the most garbage content now. And it seems to completely ignore content type, input, descriptions, reference composition and style - basically everything. I'm used to refining what I want through a reductive process, with this new model I feel I'm just going to waste tons of credits before getting anything I want to use.

Looks like half my problem is they turned on "prompt enhancement" which stuffs tons of AI keywords into the prompt.

There is a known issue with composition reference and image 4, it's really a style choice if you prefer image 3 or 4, you can always switch between them. enhance prompt is relatively new, I don't think it has much to do with image 4 necessarily, and you can turn it off

Why are all my prompts only creating black people and minorities? I reran the same prompt a few more times, no white folks. I even used “Caucasian” in my prompt, no difference. Is it not possible to create an image with white people in it? Just curious. Because it’s important for marketers to represent our demographics.

That is not my experience. I haven’t really used it loads for humans, but I’m usually pretty descriptive in what I’m going for. If I want someone white I say Caucasian, if I’m going for black I say African American. Perhaps you are putting your descriptions in the wrong order? I believe the closer to the beginning of your prompt has more weight.

I have two Adobe plans. One is Creative Cloud Pro which has 4000 premium generative credits per month and renews on the 2nd of the month, and the other is Firefly Pro which has 7,000 premium generative credits per month and renews on the 22nd of the month. Unused credits don't roll over. As far as I can see, Adobe pools all the credits in my account and doesn't distinguish which plan I am using credits from, so how can I optimise my credit consumption to avoid losing credits that don't roll over? Is the only way to be sure to run my balance down to zero just before the 2nd and again before the 22nd? Or, if I have a non-zero balance on those dates will I get to keep it? Adobe provides very little documentation on multi-plan credit pooling AFAIK.

I have a lot of small (540p) videos I want to generate to use as motion design elements in After Effects, so using up the credits is not a problem 😂 I just want to optimize my credit usage so I don't let credits expire when the plans get their monthly resets.

I've been thinking it through and my guess is that Adobe will handle my two subscriptions with their different reset dates like this: Adobe will never give me more than my aggregate of 11,000 premium credits. Therefore I will receive the full 4000 credits for CC Pro on the 2nd of the month so long as my balance is 7000 or under, and I will receive the full 7000 credits for FF Pro on the 22nd so long as my balance is 4000 or under.

from my experience, as I am on Firefly Premium (50000 credits) (gift sub 3 months) and on Creative Cloud Pro (4000 credits); Firefly premium renews 5th of that given month and Cloud pro renews on 22nd on that month. So on my first month of Firefly sub, all credits got squandered before next month starts (Firefly premium pro) due to vid gen credits. Although I still can generate images (standard feature still available) and when the date arrives, I got 50000 credits again and on 22nd, I got 4000 credits due to Cloud Pro renewal

I created the first image with Firefly 4 about a month ago, and it followed my reference images almost perfectly—just a few minor flaws that I could easily fix in Photoshop. Now, using the exact same prompt and reference image, it produces results that are essentially unusable. Nothing matches, and the quality has completely dropped. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've been using Adobe Firefly for over a month. For the past few days, I've been facing a problem generating 3D icon design images. Previously, I was able to generate high-quality 3D icon designs, but recently the results have changed — even when using the same prompts.

Please see the image on the left, which is a perfect, high-quality example, and compare it to the image on the right, which is low-quality and not suitable for 3D icon design. I've been experiencing this issue for the last 7 days.

ok... after hearing all about this google banana(gemini 2.5 flash image) i finally tried it. It's disturbingly good. Ive fed it an illustration i did of a character and was able to generate an entirely passable profile and three quarter view. I also had it do different phonemes(adobe calls them visemes) for mouth shapes. they arent 100 percent where it should be.. or even 60% where i'd personally take it, but its definitely a good starting point for people who are looking to create a puppet of their own but are stubling on those mouth shapes. All in all im as impressed as i am super cautious of where this all leads.

Its ability to consistently render objects (people, places and things) without drift or issues with coherence is unmatched. Difficult to achieve unless you're specifically training your own model(s) to do that. Its pretty amazing. That said, there are some issues with it but overall it is very impressive.

If you use model 4 ultra it generates one image, but it costs more. If you use model 3 or 4 it’s gonna make 4 images. You could do it in Photoshop fex. and delete the variations you dont want

been trying to use Firefly to get coloring images, but lately it's been doing full colour no matter what prompts I try. I even went back to the how to video that was done here a while ago and even using those same prompts I get coloured images any help?

Yes that's true, but The issue is I'm coming out with 100's of images that are needed for a project. I don't have time to make them all and desaturate all of them like that. I know photoshop runs batches but still. Need the most efficient way to get things done

You can with Adobe Character Animator. But you have to build a puppet and create the individual mouth positions. Then input audio with the dialogue, ACA will auto-animate the lip-sync animation. Its pretty cool. Just requires some setup on the front end to create the rig.

Character animator is really simple, you don’t really have to start from scratch you can build on the included puppets. Shawn has some video at his channel where he uses CA to create short films. He made the characters using Firefly in Illustrator I believe.

@little hill - You can also try this without all the setup using Adobe Express. I think they have some prefab puppets you can use. Ideally, you would make your own as there is a lot more control that way.

it's going to be difficul to get every single detail correct in a prompt, you can focus on getting the general look that you want and use generative fill to get specific eye color, etc... As far as using real likeness, I'm not clear on how using your own photo is forbidden, using your face as a composition reference will capture generalities but not specifics, you're not going to get your exact face on another image. If you have a specific vision in mind you can use firefly to get started and use tools like photoshop to edit the image to get the exact look you want
