oh, pardon me, I misread it. In that case you may jump to photoshop and try smart portrait. You won't be able to generate with such accuracy using Firefly's generative fill

However, it will take a lot of tries to get what you want, and you will likely have to accept partial results and try again. I faced a similar situation what helping someone with a dog that needed to be missing an eye. It took several hours of work to perfect it.

If you want to generate the exact facial features, you'll probably have to use a different method. Its not going to exactly copy the reference image.

In prompt words, you either want it to think it needs to leave space at the top or tell it to show a full object. I would probably try "white space at top" or "full-balloons". It can be hard. Sometimes changing the orientation can help. If all else fails, I have taken what it created and sketched the missing component and then used that for a structure reference. In that case, I generally use styles "ink", "line drawing","black and white" for the sketch I will turn into a structure reference.

If you try this in Firefly (using the Structure Ref feature), it can probably follow the reference pretty well. Also, you can probably shorten the prompt drastically. It looks like ChatGPT wrote this; it often generates descriptions that are too verbose including a lot of words that are unnecessary for use in a text-to-image prompt.

I just saw an adobe firefly youtube video on how to make seamless patterns, Cant believe how bad it is, Im trying not to go back to midjourney since I already have an adobe account, is there indeed an easy way to create a seamless pattern in firefly that is really seamless and dont be having to do all those extra steps on photoshop or illustrator to make it actually seamless?

Since today when Firefly Image 3 came out I cannot get any photography results at all. I tried model 2 and 3. The results all look like cartoons. Is this a major bug? Thank you. After I switched to model 3 on iOS, it added 5 random styles to my prompt! The added styles are not visible in iOS so I only saw them after your comment when I went to windows browser and opened firefly prompting there. I removed all styles and now generating photos works again. Thank you. My heart stopped to work for a while 😵‍💫

Try to figure out a prompt that affects the patterns of clothing. It’s easy to get someone in a red T-shirt. What about a T-shirt with a fire engine on it? Or a necktie with a train on it?

You would work with structure and style references. Look into the layering of the example linked #1220372551818022992 message. To be fair for the reasons of the accuracy I would even go Photoshop Illustrator route in this case

Well, just like the generation from prompts, some will be good and others will not be. There is randomness and probablility involved so it is hard to reach certainty for every generation (certainty meaning good image).

@ocean pond Generating from the bar works fine. I only get this error when I try and use "Generative Expand" with the crop tool (to extend an image) - the error occurs regardless of prompt or no.

Content Aware expand works (top image) but obviously doesn't give great results, and generative fill manually works fine (bottom image)

Structure would basically have the resulting image have the objects shaped the way the reference image looks. Style Reference will mainly use the colours and textures from the original image. If what you are trying to do is have firefly create a character that looks like your reference image but is in a different pose or taking a different action, Firefly cannot do that. Having Firefly be able to reuse characters from one image in another is a commonly requested feature.

I mean a brush like this screenshot. There's a lot of settings , but under the stroke menu there is a checkbox for "Ribbon" that basically turns your image into an ongoing line you can draw (so long as your original image is seamless at the edges) and it has an autocorrection to stabalize the line while you curve it around things. The material is added in the brush tip menu (the menu I am showing) but yeah. Essentially I find myself importing my images into CSP just to add a few things I use this feature for and I just wish that PS had it (if it doesn't) so I can just keep all of my workflow in one app.

I literally made the brush itself in PS and made it seamless there just to import it as an image material in CSP to use along the borders of some of my stuff.

Hey all. I have a question. When you are generating an image and supply a reference image and maybe pick some effects etc., and you get some results and you click generate again, does it go back to the original reference image and prompt and just apply whatever effects changes you have made, or does it seed whatever image you have currently selected from the results as well?

So, if I generate an image, and I have result 2 picked just by happenstance, will that result factor in on successive generations? I'm deciding if I have to undo and regenerate the image from the initial screen, or if I can iterate from the original without regard to the result I have selected

Yes and no. There were slight changes if I can call them that way since model 3 was introduced. Like the photo filter earlier gave some amount of the cgi look while now it's leaning to more realistic results. Currently Firefly images are downloaded as non-transparent PNG files, however you can open Adobe Express through your Firefly generation and use the "Remove Background" option.

model 3 is subpar to model 2. considerably.

at a minimum, we need a model selection toggle. at a minimum. current implementation of model 3 makes firefly a less effective tool.

Based on the feedback I have seen, it tends to indicate model 3 can produce more realistic images (as in photo) than model 2, but model 2 is much better at artistic creations than 3. Generative fill with model 3—I am not sure what it is good at.

thats the thing i've been trying to convey. the use cases for model 3 are very far away from model 2. anyone with model 2 in their workflow is just kinda effed.

this is main issue of integrating these tools into any workflow right now.

its one thing to just 'type some stuff into prompt and magic happens, ai art, etc'

but with the granular shape/guidance/reference controls that (for inexplicable reason) were exclusive to web generative fill, it was an actual useful tool.

its hard to figure out whether adobe would rather see firefly as geared at 'casual user makes ai stuff' or serious and useful tool for professionals.

Hi, has anyone had a HUGE change in Firefly today? I was cruising along with a set of parameters creating very similar images with great colors then BOOM today it broke. It is giving me generic horrible stuff that looks like Dalle 1 might have made. Hugely disappointed as I was collaging a lot of these images with illustrators image trace and I was right in the middle the project and can't really finish it the way I was planning on. Structure seems to work completely differently. I can no longer get minimal style images anymore. Everything is intricate and over drawn.

Yes, in the article Katarina shared it says how many credits are included in each plan. The credits are renewed every month with a subscription, and does not gather up (unused credits are lost each month)

Hi everyone, did anyone notice a huge change in Firefly yesterday? I was cruising through a project creating some super cool and similar images while just changing out the Structure reference image and then it froze, had to reload the page, and now I cannot get anything near what I was before. I was getting super simple graphic designs and now it spits out complext very AI generated looking stuff with bad shadows and all of that. Looks like Dalle. I have tried on Version 2 and Version 3 preview. Has anyone else noticed a DRASTIC change in Firefly in the last day or so?

These are the exact same prompts with the same reference engine, same structure reference image, same effects, same everything and see how much more complex the new one is? I would rather use the older one to then put in illustrator to work with. I cannot use the new one at all, it would be easier to trace the image myself which is why I found Firefly so helpful for a second there.

Thanks for the response! I am still using model 2 in my example, when the model 3 preview came out I could switch between 2 and 3 and model 2 would give me nice minimal stuff and model 3 would give these overly complex shadow and gradient laden images. Now both model 2 and 3 give these complex images for me. I have tried photo with the same exact propt, structure reference, and effects and cannot get anything as clean and minimal as I had been before yesterday.

I would pay a subscription ontop of my adobe subscription just to get model 2 to do what it was before yesterday. I was loving the amount of time I was saving and the images I was generating. Now I have no use for the product at all.

Thanks so much for the replies! I have tried the same everything in both Photoshop and the Firefly website. I was on the website and got a "cannot generate (or something)" a few times, I refreshed the website and started getting these more complex images no matter what model I was using. When I noticed the change I immediately went to Photoshop and got very similar results, where as before I could change the model to get minimal or maximal style images.

Let's hope! It has killed my workflow. I was so excited at how true Firefly stayed to the source material, it saved me hour of tracing... better charge my iPad I guess...

Oh and one last thing. It cannot do letters anymore either. Firefly Model 2 used to be able to handle text very well before yesterday, now it spits out Dall-E style gibberish. Even with strength of structure reference at max.
