can someone clarify, when using generate, is a credit consumed to press the generate button initially, to generate the samples (4 in example below), or only once you choose keep? also, are credits consumed if you don't like the 4 samples that are initially created?

we understand that credits aren't used YET, but in order for us to budget fo rthis i'd like to understand when the credit usage actually kicks in. This is too vague unless it's all tied to the "keep" button.

I'm just thinking that, let's say i think hmm, i don't want the waterfall to be blurry, I wasn't seeing anything i liked... oh, nah, none of those work, i'd rather it be at sunset, oh nope, etc.... like that sounds like we'd be getting "dinged" for each "generate" button push after making the refinements to the prompt, even though we aren't keeping anything at the end of the day....
if there's not cancellation on the consumption if you don't decide to "keep" one, It's almost like "paying" to be able to look at a stock photo catalog, even before picking a photo.

@solid night I feel you are limiting yourself if all you want is AI functions. That is why Firefly is being integrated into Adobe apps. The AI is just creating assets. You as the designer or artist will want to create something great and need Ps or Illustrator for that. AI alone is not enough.

You can switch between the two models, but the credits still count. Tho they reset every month, for the free plan this is 25 credits. If you started your free "subscription" on 5th day from the month, credits will reset every month on the 5th day. So no it's not possible anymore to generate images without spending credits. Hope that answers the question.

That's correct! This is meant to show you what your credit usage will look like. The credit system won't actually be in place until 1/1/2024 at the earliest. As for why your credits are at zero, do you know what day your billing cycle begins on?

If time/budget allows for it, I prefer to create/draw my own assets. The Firefly images can be used as a rapid brainstorming tool, and be my inspiration for different styles, compositions, etc.

The creative process is what I love about creating. Generating assets and using them as is takes away from that. But, I realize that not everyone is going to be willing to invest the extra time and money when AI can do it more quickly.

I would agree with that. I've been a Graphic Designer for 10+ years and I also thoroughly enjoy illustration work. Before that, I grew up drawing with pencil on paper.

You could take a picture of it import it in photoshop and trace it. Alternativly you could try to add the picture as a reference image in adobe firefly and play around with the prompt and the strenght slider. Sketch2image module is sadly not available yet.

Or since it's a logo you be better off with importing the sketch in Illustrator.

Well, healthy competition between companies like Canon vs. Nikon or BMW vs. Mercedes or Nike vs. Adidas or any other make is quite normal. But THAT is not the ulterior motive of the MJ prompts. The aim here was to give the interpreting AI behind it something to work with. That's why people here have specified Sony, Nikon, Canon and the focal lengths. THAT has nothing to do with competition between manufacturers but is simply a verbal implementation of prompts. In this case, throwing them together or mixing them up wouldn't be entirely right.

You appear to have missed my point entirely it seems. Cars and shoes are about the objects themselves, while camera brands are about the pictures they create and to a degree form factor and control layout. I have a Nikon camera with a Sony sensor, the determinant factor for the picture I take is largely the lens. What you’re suggesting is that if an image with its EXIF data removed was provided to AI it could tell you which camera brand took it. I contend that’s not possible, and if that’s true, then it also holds true that the information added to a prompt isn’t useful either.

Thank you for looking into it! I found the same result which is why I specified for the pink guava with small white seeds in my prompt — unfortunately many of the images generated still had black seeds, or massive white seeds, or the wrong cross-section was shown (vertical vs. horizontal cut). It's a learning process for sure.

You can always upload a photo of what you want and let it use that for reference as well. And yes it does seem to not always get the vertical versus horizontal cross section correct.

Very true regarding the different views and approaches. Finding what works for me in terms of prompting has been a refinement since I started using the beta back in April. If you're looking to create something very specific, your prompting needs will likely be quite different than someone who's looking to provide a general idea, see what's generated and then maybe refine the prompt to be more of what you envision for the final result.

But like so many things, it has already found its way into our private and working world and we will have to deal with it. How we deal with it is up to us. I'm making a small multiplayer game in which each player generates an AI image every round, what should I use for generating the images? If the game has say 5 ppl, then is using openai api for dalle-3 with a single API key going to be too slow?
the image generation shouldnt be like stable diffusion where you have to change the prompt multiple times before getting what you want; DALLE-3 is very good for this but the content policy can be a problem.

I don't know which of those is the best for you, but have in mind that you also need the rights to use it, have different Profiles, because the users would want at least the same looking avatars that fits their profile and that several thounds of them. Maybe you look at some Engine that allows you to modify many parameters yourself. Good luck.

For example, if I tell it I want a dog in a park, and it just shows the dog from the chest up, how do I tell it to show me the whole body? I have not seen one @wooden granite . Doing a batch import, canvas resize, selection of the PNG, invert, genreative fill.

I just ran a test of a PNG of this deer.

To fix a mistake would be to add a stop after the selection to contract the selection.

After inverting the selection, it's Expand selection not contract. oops. Just made the action.

When doing resizing of the canvas make sure to use a percent not pixels.

Works good.

hi, i have a unique problem that i am trying to solve, basically i am trying to complete manga images from manga panels, what i mean is to remove the manga speech bubble and get firefly to draw in the image behind the speech bubble. here is an image example that i am trying to complete after the speech bubble was removed. Does anyone have experience with this kind of image generation / filling. if so is it possible to do with firefly ordo i have to do it manually like i have been doing

You could replace the speech bubbles by using Gen Fill in Photoshop. Others may have better ideas coming your way. Best of Luck!

The GenFill module might work. However, you should be careful working with artwork that isn't yours. Ideally, you should only be uploading and working with images that you have the rights to use.

Its specifically the stage events, and effects mobile users more than desktop users. You can help by making sure you're on the latest version of Discord. Your tone is pretty rude and dismissive assuming we haven't been trying to work with Discord directly, to solve this issue already.

Also please do not blame specific people, the individual who happens to have made the event, may not even be the person hosting the event, and has no control over notifications after the fact

@vast spoke To save yourself some time - you could also use Firefly's Generative Fill to remove the background and any drop shadows of the images you like. You could then import the image(s) into Photoshop and create a background to better align with your vision.

Can anyone tell me what app or feature in ACC would be best to help me add a simple diagram over a photo. To be specific I have a tenant claiming they fell through a handrail on the second floor (exterior) apt entrance. HOWEVER, AFTER CLOSER INSPECTION, the person would had to be about 20" inches or a half meter tall to fall where and as they claimed. To help save some time, Id like to draw up an illistration over a real photo, so I can show them, and ask them to explain to me how they fell as they claimed.

I don't think Firefly would be the right tool.... But if you have Microsoft PowerPoint - you could copy/paste the image onto a slide and use the software's built-in draw tools (arrows, boxes, etc.) to create a diagram overlayed with the image.

no, you can upload images you have the rights to use as a style reference and generate new images that match that style. There's no feature to upload an image and change the style of it although you can make a #1087561412269854840 post if that's something you're interested in @fossil shore

@fossil shore There is not the function as Jack just said but the work around is to upload the image to Gen Fill in Firefly. Set the Brush Oppacity to around 50% (you will need to test what works best), brush over the whole image and type in your prompt style. You get some good stuff.
