I'm trying out Photoshop (beta), and I have created a square shape with the marquee tool and asked for a scene to be generated with generate fill. I get the scene I describe, but it is rectangular in shape so that only the top half of the scene appears in my square. Any ideas on how to correct this?

Take a look at your mask on the Gen layer. When you make a selction, Ps is only going to try to fill that area you have selected. It also includes elements from the original background trying to blend it. If you need to edit the gen fill, turn it into a smart object and use select subject or remove background and make a new mask. This way you'll be able to transform or edit just the main subject.

Also fyi: Ps only generates 1024x1024 max image size. It's recomended to do large fills in sections. Not all at once.

I think that is correct. When you have a background, Ps is trying to blend the image and the background. Confusing it sometimes.

I've solved my problem. I was trying to generate onto a transparent background. When I do this the image generated takes the shape of my canvas. If I select the whole canvas before prompting a generate fill, then the image fills the canvas. If I use the marquee tool the part of the scene within that shape is displayed. If I use the marquee tool on a white background the full scene is generated within the shape defined by the marquee.

@void swallow generating legible text can be time consuming but it is doable. You need to make use of the reference image feature to get text on an item in text to image. Before generative fill came out I had managed to get 7 words correctly spelled on a bar of chocolate, but this took many hours spread over two days, it didn't take two days. Using: Text"product name" you run a generation pick the one that has at least the first letter correct usually you get closeish to the text. by clicking on the button with three circles when all four images are on the page at once, you get a drop down that allows you to set a reference image, select the one with the closest text. Now comes the time consuming bit. starting from the left pick the first letter that is incorrect, now deliberately misspell the word bay adding more of that letter, somewhere between 3 an 5 extra letters works the best, use the slider on the reference image, slide it all the way to the left, this way you have four images almost the same to start building your words from. Press the refresh button, if you have generated one with the correct letter, move to the next letter that needs replacing and do the same thing of adding more letters than needed, pick the one where the letter is correct as the new reference image, press refresh carry on like this until your words are correctly spelled. It is still easier and faster to add the tex in photoshop or another image editor

That somehow means if we get bad results, and feedback will not help in real time to improve the results the only chance for a better result is to change the prompt but with no guarantee that it will help. Means rewriting the prompt, and spending more time on it doesn’t really make a difference unless the AI got the new data infused

Are the photoshop tools more for working on an image I already made/shot rather than creating an image 100% from text? Hello, I have a problem with the image extension. Whenever I go into the cutout mode and try to expand my image, when I press Enter to confirm, it scales the image down significantly.

At first, I thought it was just a zoom-out, but when I exported it, I noticed that it was scaled down from around 5000px to 1080px. Any ideas why this could be happening?

In the promotional video it shows us a scene of a wagon in a field being turned into ‘a wintery scene’ with snow covering the wagon. How do I recreate this effect? Whereby my deigned object is integrated into the background scene. I.e. with the snow covering it.
I have a ‘cabin’ but my own design. I have it modelled and rendered both on a transparent background or in a field. But I am unable to place it into a wintery scene in which the cabin is integrated to the scene with snow covering it. As yet I can’t do better than old school copy paste effect (albeit with the shadows working better.)
