Told them of my experiences both in-game and IRL, i was raid-leading and was promoted to officer... a few months the GM decided to pack it up and handed down the guild to me - since then ive been the best you can be BOTH IN-GAME and ive done the best i could to pass this way of thought on to All i encounter in this Life humble N happy

Im curious, when Naxx comes out, i wanted to make a warrior, but leveling one is a nightmare.
The undead racial can mitigate why its a nightmare because they can cannibalize to heal, and will of the forsaken is just super useful in general.
But im worried nobody will want an undead warrior cus everyone in classic seems to be all about parsing and using "correct" races.
So my question is: Should i just level it, or would it be a waste of time cus im not an orc?

@worthy relic You should wait a few levels. 15 is minimum to enter the dungeon, but trash starts at 22. If you go in at 20, you'd want to go into a carry group.

Like warriors need good weapons constantly
But something with more self heal or damage could sneak away with worse gear for similar enemies

Warriors are gear-dependent. If you don't have good gear, you're more likely to suck.
Gear can be acquired while levelling, or maybe even crafting, but you want to research first what you need for pre-raid BiS.

@maiden river They are quite different. Classic has very long leveling times, unorganized quest progression and simplified rotations. The raids in classic are also far easier than retail. Retail you will level swiftly and most of the experience will be at the end game where you will do mythic+, raid, and pvp for conquest gear.
Also in classic they really don't try to balance the classes at all. TBC is coming though and that is when the game really shines, so it is absolutely worth leveling a character in classic.

Well actually you can't play Classic on trial.
This is what you can do on a trial account.
Classic in game form is free, but you need a subscription to access it.
The subscription covers both Classic and Retail.
Classic does not need a sub of its own.
Anything you do on trial is retail only.

Some expansions such as Cataclysm fundamentally changed a lot of the base level game, so Classic reintroduced content before all that.
To access retail, you need to pay for the game, but can also play on trial without a sub. To access Classic, you need a sub.

@junior ferry because the RMT part is what matters (context is important, it's fine to disagree with gold boosts but it's a different matter than RMT transactions, which are against ToS)

In Classic, for raiding you need to be at least 56 or so, but that makes it a "carry" group helping you.

You want to tame higher level wild bears over time to earn the upgrades for its talents/perks.
Pet abilities don't upgrade.
You can tame a higher level of the same thing, use it for a while, until you "earn"/"learn" its upgraded ability, then you can pass it onto your existing pet.
It's kinda counter-intuitive in Classic, but that's how it is.
I think it's the one thing about huntards in Classic that sucks.

@worn pond Well shield bash you need a shield, so it'll be 1H weap fighting. You can switch weapons mid fight (but not armour). Are you tanking or DPS?

I levelled my warrior to just under 50 as a sword+shield Arms until I realised I had been levelling wrong the whole time and switched to 2H Fury.

You can still pummel as a 2H, but for shield bash you need to have shield equipped.

Hunter is good for new players.
You have a pet that'll tank for you, and you get a feel of both melee and range DPS.
Having said that, there is the "dead zone".
If you PVP anyone, they will exploit this on you.
It's the range where it's too close for you to do ranged attacks, and too far for you to do melee.
But your pet should be able to take care of them there.

You can get a pet from level 10.
So before then, you're on your own.
In fact it's quest-chain, so you won't miss out on it.

The first 10 levels on hunter kind of suck. I just started classic with a buddy and 6-10 were horrible (orc starting zone). On 10 with a pet you feel a lot stronger. Fun class, just remember you’ll have ‘mana issues’ and need to buy ranged ammo. Good times, remind me of 2004-2007 when I mained my hunter.

Classic is... unforgiving.
Retail helps you with info.
In Classic, you largely kinda need to find it yourself.
There are addons that can help.
But base level without them, you're "on your own".

It was very arduous.
And not always helpful.
But people grew to the charm of that playstyle.

When you look up stuff on wowhead, for Classic, always ensure it's that base level URL.
Otherwise you could get results for retail.
It's not to say that Classic is deliberately unhelpful on its own.
It just... wasn't mature.
Development-wise, that is.

Many things in Classic, back in Vanilla, were chance-discoveries by players.
Some major events/quest lines would abruptly end, because they'd continue in later expansions, or because the game kinda "pushed" you to find things you need by chance.

I don't necessarily have a favourite, per se. I play multiple classes for their various benefits.
But, I do tend to sway to hunters and mages.

Because WoW back in Vanilla was fairly counter-intuitive.

I suppose you might be unwittingly discarding money.
Can't say I've ever heard of that.
Oh yeah, I think it was a feature where you could allocate some money as a bag item.
In similar fashion to how it appears on the loot table.
I'd say don't bother using it.
You could be erasing your money permanently that way.
