Sure! I think art should be transparent with people. Mixing ai generated music in the same pile as real music makes a confusing mess of what’s real and what’s fake, and on the contrary, takes away from real producers, artists, singers, etc. I think using Suno as a means to make ideas is awesome! But uploading the raw audio generated off Suno is a recipe for disaster. Having a sole marketplaces for Ai generated music seperated from real music is definitely the way to go. Look at OpenAI with sora, they’re encouraging people to use their own social media app versus posting on TikTok. Suno honestly has done an amazing job creating their own place to upload music within its social realm, there is a reason they did that 🙂

No hate to Suno, I actually love it as a producer, it has been insanely cool with inspiration. But that is the extent of true commercial usage for it that I would give.

Also I put this out there to have a CHILL discussion. You automatically lose the argument when you get upset, post memes, and become defensive.

Art comes in many forms though, and i do agree with you about being transparent, which is why with what spotify is doing to prune the mass slop as people call it could be a good thing, but there should be no issue with mixing ai generated songs with songs sung by people or music played on instruments by people or made on a computer, song writing is also an art form, and in my view just because someone decides to put their work into a tool like suno and steer the production of their songs to tbe final track they shouldnt be pushed away and treat any differently to lets say a singer whos producer has used melodyne for examaple to make their voice sound better than what it actually is.

Again, just my view, but their are singers out their whos work isnt as good as some of the tracks people have put out using a tool like suno.

I understand what you are saying when you say "it takes away from producers, artists, singers etc" but it doesnt take away from them, they just feel that they wont be good enough for their chosen line of work anymore, thats just tbeir fear, but if they are as good as they are then they shouldnt have any worries, they will still get their following, the problem i see is that the kids in the sandpit dont want to share, painting was overshadowed by photography but both still live together in the world, video killed the radio star but radio is still going strong, and spotify is a place to put music onto for others to listen to, and you cannot say that tne music created on suno isnt music because it is,

Nope not quite ghettoization. It’s SERIOUSLY being confused with clarity all of the damn time. We already separate music by context all the time: explicit vs clean, originals vs covers, remixes vs radio edits. That is not “exilingg” a song it is labeling it so listeners know what they are hearing and credits and payouts land where they should. Without provenance you are rewarding spam, impersonation and data laundering. Watermarking or clear labels are not a cave, they are. CLARITY. If an AI track truly slaps it will still find its crowd inside its own labeled lane, and when a human producer collaborates with models it can be tagged as AI assisted. Transparency protects trust not egos

They are MY ideas to mix things that perhaps have never been tried before. I think that's the real magic of suno. the ability to throw a bunch of stuff into a blender and see what comes out.

The studio part which I have not experienced I'm assuming is like AI powered sampling which sounds pretty awesome. I dunno what the future holds but I am going to wager that it's gonna be heavily regulated.

I don’t even think YOU should take it down. You’ve been given the ability to generate music and can easily upload to it to the world. I personally think it’s on the steaming platforms to add in detectors and to do the regulating and removing themselves

I signed the 5.0 a week ago and used it just fine for some days. 15 songs or so, up to now. My acoustic guitar songs recorded on the cell phone transformed into whole band versions for my band to work on and record.

Since friday, however, none of my files are being uploaded into Suno anymore, and I have no ideia why. I have tried different files, I have logged out and in, I have rebooted my router and device and nothing works.

Finally, I sent Suno an e-mail hours ago, and the automatic response suggested this Discord.

I really don't wanna waste my money or lose the rest of my thirty-day due.

I will continue to release my AI music on Spotify alongside "real" music, because for the first time in 20+ years I can finally finish a song without dealing with the drama of people not showing up for band practice, arguing over every note, studio artists not wanting to (or can't) take direction (do everything their way), and so on and so on. The "real" process got me no where. I am not getting younger and the years left to finally produce my own music is running out. I am not forcing anyone to listen to what I make.

My prompts are essentially what i had in my notebooks for years. I didn't exactly write down chords but I had the lyrics. I had notations about where I wanted the song to slow down or pickup. Where to add double bass. Where to yell vs harmonize. Suno just said "here is a place to put all that, and this is how you format it". I've basically had my prompts ready for two decades

My personal view would be that he is showing his love for music because he is doing what he loves, and hasnt been able to do for a long time, and after a good long life he now has the opportunity to do just that.

You’re twisting the whole conversation. Nobody’s saying people can’t make music with AI. That’s great if it helps someone finally express themselves. But creating something for love and pushing it out as if it went through the same grind as real producers are two very different things.

It’s not ego to protect the meaning of craft. It’s about respect for the process. Musicians spend years learning, failing, and perfecting what they do. When someone skips that journey using a tool and still wants the same credit, that’s not equality, that’s entitlement.

Yes you are right, musicians have spent years honing their craft, singers have spent years training their voice and producers have spent time learning how to make beats on a computer, the art of mixing and mastering, no one is stopping them from continuing their craft.

But as i said in my reply to you earlier which you completely just disregarded and didnt have the decency to relly to, music and art is for the viewer/listener, its about how it makes them feel when they hear it or look at it, what they get to take away, how they connect with it, the feelings and emotions that are stirred up from a lyric or a sound, that is what music is about, that is what the love of music is, its not about acting like a child in a sandpit not wanting to share the toys.

Tools evolve faster than people do. I worked in animation/VFX for a long time. I remember traditional 2D artists raging about 3D animation that it was a short cut. One would even say "you can have my pencil when you pry it from my cold dead hands!" I think he works at a grocery store now (not joking)

I’m not trying start up the argument again, but one more thing that I thought about just now, in which is partially the reason why it’ll be extremely to hard to an “ai producer”.

When looking at social media comments and YouTube comments, there is a massive amount of hate, that honestly goes a bit too far (like threatening to hurt or dox, which I completely disagree with) . It’s not just real producers who have a problem with it, so many consumers passionately HATE ANY form of ai generated music.

With your take saying “it’s for the listener”, I see most Suno generated songs on YouTube and socials getting maybe 80/20 hate to like ratio. I’m just curious how that’ll get better with their going to be even more transparency going forward.

I just feel like the life expectancy is pretty low for attempts at commercial ai generated music.

This isn’t coming from hate of the producers side, I’m talking about the LISTENER.

Thats quite alright, i honestly dont mind having chats about it,

In my honest opinion, transparency is the key, if you look at most of the hate and where it comes from, people dont like to feel as though they have been lied to, its a horrible feeling when someone is trying to decieve, not just with ai muisc videos etc, but in day to day life, and with all the people trying to pass something ai generated off as realistic, it only feeds it, if you go have a read of my spotify profile, you will see how i openly say that i use ai, i also make a joke of it, there has been hate for many things in time, but as we have seen over the course of history, there is always a fear of whats new, gradually people warm up to things and slowly co.e to accept them, lets take rap music as a quick example, how much was that hated at one point, now its probably one of the biggest genres if not the biggest or tattoos, people were looked at like horrible, dangerous criminals if they had them, they couldnt get jobs if they had a bit of ink showing, now its normal and doesnt make a difference whatsoever, and this is because over time people will fear less, hate can spread quite easily and people are quick to jump on the band wagon when they have no understanding of something, ive seen a lit of comments with the hate on yt vids etc, and i also see a pattern in the thought process in thinking that there isnt a person behind it, they watch videos about 1 click and done and so there is an assumption that all music done using ai tools is exactly that, this needs to change and people need to see the humanity behind the music also,

People are very much like sheep when it comes to hating things, both you and i know what the internet is like.

One big issue that i see (and this isnt me pointing a finger at you) is that producers, singers, musicians and especially record labels now all feel threatened because it means people are able to put contenet out without having to hone a craft over 20 hears etc, they dont need to pay a producer thousand in cash to polish their tracks, no sitting in a recording studio for hours upon hours singing the same line 100 times so that a producer can piece together everything for that studio polish, and no big record labels taking 70% of the profits, so each and everyone of them will feed the fire of hate, not necessarily meaning to be hateful but because they are being defensive over their jobs, emperor palpatine said it best, "all those who gain power are afraid to lose it"

Ai artists are already gaining traction, the numbers are showing it, as more artists become accepting and adapt with it, their fans will to and the hate will lessen, maybe ai artists will never be as big as mainstream artists, maybe they will, but ill refer to Imogen Heap again, 20 million monthly listeners and she is training or has trained her ai singer, do you think all her fans will just cast her aside and not listen? Ai isnt going anywhere, it will just take time for it to be normalised as is with everything new, oh and ai isnt the reason there are 20k out of work musicians in new york alone, its because the music world has already been saturated.

Very sad to read it ! I went on internet and I read he passed away at the 74 years old for me who have 62, It seems too young to die. It is said he died after a falling in his studio and suffering a brain hemorrhage, personally, I don't really believe it. I'm someone who has seen many musicians I knew in real life through my former job, and they had all been injected with the COVID vaccine, and I find that many of them have unfortunately died in strange circumstances. But anyway, that's just my personal opinion. I also knew Eric Carr when he came with the band for a concert in Paris. I was supposed to interview the band, but Gene Simmons and the others refused, so Eric Carr gave us the interview instead. He was great and incredibly kind. Afterwards, we all stayed with him all night at his hotel, and he bought us drinks. The following year, he died of cancer, and I cried. That guy was amazing, incredibly generous, and full of kindness. He was a beautiful person.

Keep the vibrant/dark tones in the front, and mute/wash them more out as the objects are further away from you. In a similar sense, objects get smaller the further they're away. But you could stilll touch it up, adding in darker and lighter edges to give the trees more definition. I'm digging the mountains, and clouds are just hard overall. I'm not saying this without cred, I have the papers that I can claim the title of Master Painter. It's not neccsarily a title of being good, but mastering techniques.

But since it's oil paint, it'll take a while for it to dry, you can add dabs of a lighter shade, or darker shade and wet blend them into the colours themselves. But fora first attempt, genuinely not bad, I can tell what it's supposed to be, and that's what's most important to me.

Also something I never used to do, but is very useful, is printing out reference images. Sometimes they don't even have to align with what you're painting, but certain aspects are still something you''d like to remind yourself. I did a Davy Jones as Santa Clause once, so I had squid boy and santa printed out, but also stuff that didn't apply, so I could still take inspiration from certain textures, light shimmers etc.

I gotta see if I still have some oil paints, doing a bob ross sounds fun.

Yeah unfortunately my paint pallet was way too much for all the colours I had. And I ran out of paint thinner too, which ment the colours were getting mixed wrong 😅 It took me so long to get the mountains to look decent. Once you've created the stems, you have 2 ways I know of to view them.

1. With the Filters inside the workspace your song is in. Deselect the checkbox labeled 'Hide Stems'

2. Click the three dots on the right of the song and select Get Stems. This shows you the same image but under the Get Stems Button is a link to SEE STEMS.

I mistakenly overlooked the slider to select monthly and purchased the yearly.. I attempted for twpo weeks to contact regarding the mistake requesting assistance. Not one single reply from over five emails sent.
I do not xpect any type of customer support from suno after that and have chosen to let the subscription ride out so I can make my music. When it does, I intend to locate another suitable service with actual customer support. Being a child of MIT I figured they'd have the intelligence to have a proper staff to help the paying customers at least. . .
Still Suno makes some amazing music.

After an especially carefully crafted script with time breakdowns, specific details their Ai chose to create this which ruined the entire vid and Freebeat states it was my doing, not their AI. So i am learning prompting in Suno. I can't find anything consistant. Some places say do this for verses [Verse 1] and then use () for styles. Like this

Other things I read are the oposite. Suno's site instructions don't give full examples. So very confused right now. Anyone point me in a good resource direction?

Anything in parenthesis () will get sung, usually as an ad lib. Both verses and meta tags should always use brackets [] and never use qoutes in brackets because then it'll get sung, too

You can attempt to control that with tags with timestamps or BPM, though I really never notice them working as intended. If you're familiar with DAWs, then the sky's the limit, but I would also suggest using the extend function. You can extend from any point in the song, including a third the way through a instrumental solo

Not exactly. Like, if your extend has lyrics it'll start singing those. So if you extend at the beginning of a solo, it'll cut the solo off and begin singing the new verse
