Exit the game, close Steam, run that file. It will remove Battleye. When you'll start the game again Battleye will be installed, there will be some prompts, confirm all (of course read them first).

maybe they changed it because if you have active mods that needed to work properly to be set on hosting server the game crash/shows error, and then you needed to disable it through tab in workshop, hosting server as GM you kinda fix it

There's two budgets at bases. AI and Object. I'm assuming you were trying to place down a living quarters and couldn't. This likely means that there are too many other buildings at the base. If you just place down one of each of the "functional" buildings, you shouldn't hit the Object limit, so many people aren't as aware of it (while the AI limit is much clearer as you can only have 10 AI). The issues come from when people build up the base with defensive structures, like sandbags, camo-tents, gun emplacements, checkpoints, barricades, etc.. If someone put too many of those down before building a barracks, there won't be room for one.
Yes it is, i suggest keep it what it was 100% as it is basically zoom modifier to keep zoom levels consistent to sensitivity speed at distance.

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but is there somewhere where compatibility of mods to the new 1.2.1 version are announced? I have had to disable most mods just to check out the new tutorial (pretty well done). Back in A3 the forums would be used for that but they do not seem to be used as much with Reforger

Can someone tell me why BI decided to remove the ability to see the progress of your downloads straight from server join? I legit cant tell if mods are being downloaded. This was poor judgement from whoever green lit this idea
here's how the sight retract function should work if someone's confused whats being asked.

Wonder if anyone can answer my question? Say I have my own server and I want to put on a conflict gamemode on.. but I only want certain mods, such as tanks, weapons, Vehicles that people can grab from the Terminals.. Do I have to make my own mission from scratch using the Mission maker or can I load a gamemode default and just add those items to the building termals in another way?

Can't say I understand. Probably because I don't use it before. The cycle transceiver thing (Default double Caps Lock), it cycle radio channel. Like in the short range radio, you have squad channel 38Mhz and platoon channel 48Mhz, it cycle between them.

Normally you press Caps Lock to talk and then release. Toggle allows you to just leave the radio running so you don't need to press caps lock to talk. The radio stays open.

Question. In stable (no mods), With weapon raised in standard position, when I sprint and then stop, the weapon returns to that same position.
However in exp, it shifts to "low ready" after sprinting.
I am sure this is not a difference between stable and exp branches, but a setting somewhere - any ideas?
Could be due to low ready being bound to shift (or whatever your sprint key is)

alright, I have 2 suggestions, dont know where to throw em, one is the ability to change your height when turned out, at least as the commander in the vehicles. likely through ctrl+scrollwheel on pc. so you only expose however much you need (in addition to being able to use Binos and of course periscope functionality but I think yall probably have it planned) and a Grease gun, which is the common crewman gun even to the 90s

I prepare and start a GM scenario, i start playing it (using an US Officer), i grab various things from the Arsenal (notably a backpack), i keep playing for a bit, then i save the scenario and quit game.
When i load the scenario later, the officer doesn't have the backpack and various other items i took from the Arsenal.
I wonder if i am just doing something wrong, or if this is just how it is for now?

dont know how to explain exactly why its bad but ill try my best: if you press the voip button once sometimes it turns on the radio, other times it turns on proxy. this is bad when you need to relay information over the radio, or are just talking to someone right next to you and the whole platoon hears what you said. there must be an option to revert to pre-1.2.1 communication binds.
also switching radio frequencies does not work. you have to inspect the radio and manually change the channel
this makes it way more clunky than it needs to be
also like the dude said, if youre in combat and spot an armored vehicle of some type, and your unit doesn't have AT, and you dont have enough time to relay that to the platoon, youre cooked
and because the "toggle voice" and "radio communication" binds are on the same button, theres a good chance that you get stuck with voip on and hotmic-ing, basically making the new controls useless.

Suppressed weapon audible range for A.I. is pretty far 100m.
They will also notice suppressed weapon fire if you shoot directly in their direction.

my suppressors mod capped out at like 80 meters and people still complained that "it doesnt do anything against AI"

playing on pc usually i open discord to chat with teammate. before update i have no problem, now when i switch the app (alt-tab) and Reforger goes in background the game freeze and crash
Is the lAv 25 supposed to be able to switch between 2 types of FOV? ( IE lesser and higher magnification for gunner sight given that button?)
or is this some sort of later modification? the 1984 manual apparently only had 3 buttons on the stick?

It's possible they made another mistake like that was done with the Hummvee
I don't have a newer manual to compare to. Don't know if there were any changes in 1989. It's common for manuals to get revisions, and have pertinent changes to systems via tearing out outdated pages and replacing new ones, rather then throwing out all the old manuals and printing entirely new ones. ( manuals will have a page s aaying when revisions were added and which pages were changed) I don't have a newer revision or publication to compare to. So I'm not sure if this a mistake or something was modified by 1989, and therefore acurately modelled?

pretty much, scanned a newer data plate and just changed dates and stuff. love the attention to detail though
I mean there's no other way to do it if your utilizing 3d scanning for vehicles. There probabky aren't any remaining lav25,s in its original 1980s configuration if any.

The marine corps converted all thier lav,s to newer standards. Not sure if there are any museum piece in initial config, that can be used as most accurate reference.

I just hope eventually the commander station will be operational. From what I gather the commander doesn't have a periscope but a duplicate of the sights and hand control of the gunner. So if nessesary he takes control of turret and becomes a gunner himself

Prior to 1.2 update, console players were able to switch between UGL and ballistic without having to drop out of ADS. Is it intentional for this change or is it a bug? Current update only PC maintains prior functions

Are ballistic penetration like Arma 3 going to be added to reforger? currently it's kinda wonky, shooting at a house with a NSV and an M2 only the NSV penetrates through the building, the M2 doesn't even hit anyone inside, glass hit-points also feel weird, you shoot a 7.62 at a UH pilot head and it only breaks the glass, it doesn't damage the pilot at all

Ballistic speak of real life means zero to whatever may be going on in the game. I'm curious of difference between "mushrooming" and "tumbling". As far as terminal ballistics of real life, both mushrooming and tumbling are effectively simply an increase in the frontal surface area of the projectile relative to direction of travel, so it seems both effects could be handled by the same mechanic 🤔

I know how to do it on PC & XBOX I was going to host a Scenario so my Buddies on PS5 can join a Combat Ops but I'm not able to.

I believe thats the max player count available on Official servers. If you rent your own you can have up to 128 players on in any scenario. Combat Ops says 6 but you could do 128 if you really wanted for example

We mostly played Conflict till now but as we found the PvE mode us better for us we changed to it and we all find it a bit underwhelming to always search for weapons first and then do the missions.
On YT I can only find videos where people are at an Arsenal depot? Where can we find these on the map?

It's just hard to make players fear for life when they can just respawn after ~ 60 seconds.
What I am saying is there is no real risk for not trying to immediately face the enemy and shot.
With that being said and excluding suppression mechanics, I do have some suggestions to try and achieve this:
Punishing a player upon death -> maybe big XP loss or longer death timer but definitely something that makes one care about death.
Limiting player movement -> specifically ability to turn around, rn there is no limit at all if your have high enough sensitivity you can spin 15 times in a second, which is also a bit immersion breaking but that is another topic.
Some solution to grass not being rendered at longer distances -> everyone who plays on low knows how easy it is to spot anyone outside of grass render distance, which makes anyone trying to suppress from longer distances easy shot.
Maybe the solution would require multiple changes from different aspects to achieve such an effect but then again simple screen effect might be easier and have better results.
In 1.3 you cant spawn at the base if its under attack anymore so ppl now gotta drive to the point.

I play on the vietnam server and players don't give af. They'll take off in hueys from bases that are surrounded and get dropped 10x in one game.
the wcs somewhat fixed this by making helis have long cooldowns
our server removed heli spawns at MOB entirely cause US team wouldn't do anything or go anywhere without a heli. Now they have to capture and hold bases with heli pads in order to spam hueys.

This, the point of actual, properly applied, suppression is not to make the enemy scared because its loud. Suppression is supposed to pin the enemy behind cover or kill them outright, going cyclic with a single M249 is not suppressive fire
If your suppressive fire isnt keeping the enemy down and in place you aren't suppressing them, youre wasting ammunition in their direction

Also my personal opinion: While suppression already exists in Reforger a proper suppression mechanic is needed. The inherent lack of value in the life of your character makes "realistic" suppression (or lack there of) useless. Suppressive fire is core strategy on modern warfare. Lack of it will lead to an inherently less authentic portrayal of warfare.
Suppression in Reforger currently is binary. Either you are dead or you are alive. Realistically it should be more of a curve. A single bullet hitting near you won't do much, periodic bursts of rifle fire might make you reconsider peaking that window but a heavy machine gun laying down suppressive fire will make you stay in cover. A suppression mechanic just makes sure that everyone understands that or pays for misunderstanding dearly.
The ultimate form of suppression is still killing the enemy, but providing options to make your enemy less combat effective by suppressing them is IMO needed for a game that tries to portray authentic combat.
Also: Suppressive fire isn't only about machine guns. In modern squads every role can dish out suppression, some are just more suited for it than others. In most squads these would usually be the automatic riflemen, machine gunners and marksmen. Their role is mainly to suppress the enemy. Be it through the volume of fire or through accurate fire.
If you guys ever decide to add suppression effect, check the game insurgency sandstorm for inspiration. Please don't go the vignette route.

If suppression is implemented, it should be discrete and not overdo it in terms of screen effects, simply a dark flick or flash when a round passes close by, additionally there should be effects for bullet fragmentation when they hit solid objects nearby, but on a final note suppression should more so affect the efficiency at which you can react, for instance a more shaky uncontrolled reload, just make animations a little more jumpy to ensure players know they are in a pickle, then blend these animations based upon the level of suppression experienced

the amount of effect suppression should have should rely on a few factors, for one if you are unexpectedly walking through a forest and the other team fire first shot the affect should be quite strong and fast when compared to the suppression if you have been getting shot at for a while now and have adequate cover, it should all depend on whether bullet flies over or hits, the distance in which it occurs and finally the caliber and timing of the suppression
👏 Should be in the game, Insurgency does it well. It would make everything much more interesting... And for people who dont like it, make it so that they can disable it via server config.
💯 agree with how important it is for any game trying to simulate authentic combat, but implementing it without making half of the playerbase hate it is quite difficult.
There is no perfect way to simulate suppression in a video game played on a 2d screen, but there are some decent ideas here.
But finding the right balance is difficult.
And can tell you from experience that in real life sometimes a single unexpected round that snaps right over your head can suppress you and your squad a whole lot more than sustained machine gun fire.
If a firefight has been going for long enough most people will start to react less and less to incoming rounds and some people might even be battle hardened enough that they don't really care about getting shot at in the first palce.
So suppression at least shouldn't be a simple float from 0.0 to 1.0 that increases slightly from every round that flies nearby, but instead should be much more situational and diverse.
Blurry screen isn't realistic but it's already used as a visual cue for loss of stamina so I guess it would be a good enough for suppression as well.
Tunnel vision happens to alot of people while heavily suppressed (or due to just combat stress) and many games have the vignette effect, but ideally the tunnel vision would be achieved psychologically so that the player is stressed enough not to pay attention to the edges of their screen.
So I would look into some kind of flinching animations, louder cracks or other creative ways to really achieve that.
your point about getting used to suppression is spot on, a vignette would be nice but not a traditional one, more so a streaking pulse/flicker on your screen
I am on the no artificial system camp. Suppression should not just be about volume of fire, but accuracy as well. If the fire is not accurate, it's just a waste of ammo, and thus the suppression is ineffective.
Some vignette or screen shake may still be needed for a very near miss. Also, supersonic crack to go along with it (need to be scarier sounding).

That said; I do think that LM Suppression is a bit too much, but it does affect players in a minimal way when they are getting supressed. You can still walk/run/shoot as normal, you just don't want to stand in the open since you won't be able to be effective in a firefight.
In Arma 3 we also use the Immersion mod to have a similar effect, and is a lot less aggressive; but this results in people basically ignoring the effects and just rambo anyway.

Why not tie the severity of the effect into the soldier rank/bars and combat experience. This would give people more incentive to stay alive (since Respawn kills that) and would make certain squads more combat effective. If a particularly hardened group of men dont suffer any or very little suppression effects -that ups their strategic value and rewards their team cohesion and survivability

I have plenty experiences from playing Combat Ops on Everon, when i didn't dare to peek out of cover due to the enemy fire directed at my position, and more often than not i had to relocate or retreat.
And i cannot stress this enough:
No stupid vignette or blur effects are needed. But if you decide to add such nonsense, make sure it is optional, so ppl like us can switch it OFF.

I think i have seen it countless times - bots running or relocating, or keeping in cover, while we were shooting at them.
That said, i could be wrong, maybe all those cases were just a coincidence, maybe when they run or relocate, it wasn't because of us firing at them, but because of something else (no idea what that would be though).
Suppressing bots is in the game. Shooting at them will make them run to the nearest cover or lay down. Throwing a Grenade near them also makes them lay down and gives you about 5 ish seconds to spring to more cover

I did some test, and it seems like the bots do not react to player voices, but i still don't know if that is because something is broken, or because it really isn't in the game (i just expect that feature to exist by default in every game where players can talk - feel free to call me naive

Yeah if the player you are shooting at does not react to the fire accordingly, he will likely die and you will win the engagement.
He might have not even realized that he is getting shot at or he just knows that he can respawn easily.
Your question could be applied to bots also. Why would they need to react to your shots by ducking or taking cover as you can just kill them if they just stand around and win?
I would like to see realistic reactions from both AI and humans. But as I said, there is no perfect solution.
I don't think they react to VON but they can sometimes hear your footsteps really well, if for example in the same building.

Well this explains how i can dump an entire mag into someone sitting in a crashed jeep then they can jump out and one shot me.
The lower server FPS is, the bigger ping difference between you and enemy, the more prominent it is.
At some point you will start taking it into account and you'll be prepared for enemies exiting the car when they should have been torn to shreds.

A suppressed AK with 7 45-rounds mags will run you 22 supplies. The scope and the N version of the AK will cost more.

ak and rifles in general are garbage behind 30 meters. I won't suggest you ever use them. Get your self an mg or a sniper rifle, don't care about the supplies cost, there are always chumps that keep supplies in bases.
for accurate fire in long range, going crouch or prone will completely negate recoil. you can also set your gun on fences or any object.

If the whole point of the game is to keep bases supplied so you can have respawns there, why are we punished for suiciding to respawn and defend somewhere?

What's so gamey is that we supposedly only have 48 people involved in this conflict... If we had a reasonable number we could actually station people at bases, but as we don't, we put supplies there to represent people defending that base.
And the punisment for suicide to respawn on other place is what? a few extra seconds to respawn? Think of that as extra time to call in for reinforcement

There are only 48 players in an official conflict server, and the map of Everon is large, so supplies are used to represent a lot of different things, including infantry... The supplies you are using to "spawn in" are already at the base, so the infantry they represent are already there. There are no reinforcements to call in, they just are waiting at the base to be controlled by a player. It takes an extra 40 seconds to transfer your control of your previous soldier to a soldier somewhere else if your first soldier isn't dead.
It doesn't make sense that you would be punished for changing your focus of the soldier you are controlling to one that's now more important, but that if you get an enemy soldier to kill you, you aren't punished.
You do know you can recruit AI infantry to defend bases right? Just not many, because once upon a time too many AI makes it even harder to cap points and it lags the server to much...

Yes, they do. You need 8-10 M118 sniper rounds to set Ural ablaze, while only 1 or 2 tracers are required. I like listening to ruskies radio when it "happens". Especially when they really need the supplies they've just brought on that Ural 🤌

Radios are very basic. I can understand that, because otherwise people would not use them at all. As long as it will be done with the use of radial menu, it would be hard to add some more functionalities. Traditional radio panel, as in many moddes servers, would be nice, but again console players using controllers could have problem using it.
Both I was in a server that was at 50 ping then it changed to 200 in a second at the end of the match then i left that server cause it was to high of a ping and the rest of the servers were like that and it was the same for my friends ive been playing with
It would be as easy as turning off whichever channel was highlighted rather than the entire radio, it wouldn’t be a problem. Right now you have to highlight one of the channels to turn off the radio anyway 🤷♂️

On the other hand - there are some radio communication issues in 1.2.1.169. When you communicating on the same frequency with other people while driving a car there are very short yet noticeable audio quality drops. I need to test it more and report it.

It's not like they're completely broken. Just some brief audio quality drops. As if it went from 32-bit 96000 Hz to 8-bit, 8000 Hz for 2 or 3 second and then returned to normal.
Yes broken, a respawn is necessary. Its not a drop in quality, its stops working completely.

Yes it is, but it completely doesn't make sense from players' perspective. Such things should be resolved within the game code. Why should I be some kind of "human synchroniser" and even care if my ping and server's ping difference have proper values?
I remember that in Unreal Tournament back in 1999 we used to be unhappy if our pings were higher that 15 ms. INB, it was completely different game with different pace and it send couple of orders of magnitude less data. Yes it was and yes it did. But back then we played with DSL connections that had unimaginable transfer of 1 Mb. And latency could not be lower that 11 ms.
So I'd expect form the game made by multi-million company to be a bit more compliant with modern Internet standards.

Yet another annoying issue. You can hit and destroy stationary vehicles. You can hit and destroy vehicles moving parallelly to you. You can hit, but very rarely destroy vehicles moving perpendicularly to you. More or less I understand the reasons, but should I even think about it? To cross a bride, I don't have to know how a bridge is constructed, so why do I have to know how the game is?
As a side note - AIs will never RPG you in a vehicle if you're moving fast enough and don't drive parallelly to them.

Yes, need to be Sergeant to spawn AIs, but you can recruit them even if you're Private, you just need to be a team leader.
Even thouht there are some issues with commanding AIs, it's definitely worth recruiting them. And taking them for "visits" in enemy bases.

There is such a thing as a colt model 701. Fully auto variant of m16a2 that's not m16a3. Never officially adopted though but something that was available on the market

I think that when a player thinks he's done for, but out of nowhere the enemy shows mercy and treats them it creates an interesting situation. I don't play to win most of the time.
I just finish them off. No incentive ingame to take them prisoner or what have you. Maybe if they make a system where you treat them, then click option "Take Prisoner" and the enemy player despawn and have to respawn with double supply cost
also, they can get up on their own, and if the fight is still on and there are enemies nearby, they are danger.
Incentive? I mean its fun to do it. Also there are no incentives to do many of the things you can in the game, but it really adds to the whole experience.

So when I was in the army we were given hearing protection or ear plugs that came in a case and I always threw them in the top of wall locker because I had peltors I used
I use those kind of ear-plugs in my line of work because they're extremely comfortable. The only downside is that people don't see them. So I can understanf using big Peltors. Guy telling you to move out can see that you may not hear him, so he won't drive you over with his howitzer or whatever you are being driven over there with. While with ear-plugs it's more probable.

As I said I never heard any NATO heli at the same distance as I heard military Mi8s. They were loud AF. In the late 90s for 12 months I was an air force radio operator. In the army that was formally NATO, but we were still Warsaw Pact fossil in many fields.

Don't have time for anything better atm but after a quick and dirty test of turning one on and flying away in Game Master, it seems the Mi-8 is quieter. No numbers though. Just threw one down at the end of the runway on Arland, turned it on, and flew out to ocean to the invis wall (placed an object to fly to the same place the second time). Could still hear the Huey out there (just a little) but the Mi-8 was almost nothing if not completely silent at that distance. Not sure if game master has any special audio processing though.
Maybe because I play only on US side, I'm more sensitive to Mi8 sound, so I can detect and shot them down faster? Even though US can fly them and ruskies can fly Hueys.

if we take the training scenario as canon its to be believed US troops have 'invaded' arland, no clue on everon. and are limited in terms of assets, waiting on intervention from the fleet and with a looming soviet presence. biding their time setting up defenses and training. soviets likely invade and gather a foothold before the fleet gets there?
im only saying invaded due to the sheer presence of recent soviet vehicles and supplies left behind
otherwise it feels like the US troops have been there a while and just now are hearing of an invasion effort by the soviets and calling aid

I don't know about that with Arma 3. I know that a lot of time was dedicated to researching and evaluating the proper units and positioning of each, down to the exact number and position of troops in those units in any given moment during the campaign or "Armaverse" timeline. There have been a few errors over the years discovered, but a lot of focus was put on the story accuracy from our lore keepers as I call them. 😁
As for Arma Reforger, lore/story accuracy does play less of a role. While there were talks about keeping it narratively accurate, it was decided scenarios like Conflict are more sandbox game mode vs narrative-driven content.

Well haw can you explain that then? With order A server fails to start, with order B it starts smoothly
hard to talk about it without seeing some kind of evidence, but generally load order only matters when multiple mods modify the same thing, as the one that loads last will usually be the most "active"
let's say you and I make a mod that changes the color of the vanilla BTR, the mod that loads last will be the color you see in game
sometimes multiple mods end up modifying the same thing even when it's not obvious though
or when someone does a funny and uses override instead of duplicate, so I'm not saying you're wrong

Yes there are many hitzones
Damage to specific limbs has specific effects but currently there are only two negative effects
Being injured in the legs makes you slow down, take falls worse etc and arm injuries impair accuracy
Honestly when it comes to this, ttk isn't reliable, it's a simulator in that regard. But yeah there are different spots you can hit with armor affecting their survivability

So when you pick up an enemies radio 📻 and I ditch my radio I will hear there voice chatter with there signal in the area right? Also does the game have proxy chat with the opposing team?
yes if you pick up an enemy radio and drop yours all you will hear is their voice coms. you can even scroll through their frequencies and try to find enemy squad channels.
and yes when you talk in game everyone can here you if they are close enough. this also happens when your talking on your own radio. so if you talk on radio people near you will also hear you talk into that radio

You can also keep your own radio and just turn it off
You don't have to ditch your radio. If you have space you can use both, you will see 4 channels on your radio panel. Usually you cannot transmit on enemy radio, unless server allows it:

If you want to mute radio, you can ether turn it off or mute it by changing frequency to other channel. There is no "mute button" for radio.

POW-mechanics would solve the problem. For capturing and guarding POWs you'd get some exp. We could exchange them as well. Some simple, even symbolic detention system would do. Not graphic, so it won't change into Stanford experiment. Like there's a prison in the base, but captured players just go to lobby and wait for 5 minutes.

then its a bug, make a feedback tracker ticket. There is a similar bug on the experiemental 1.3 build where you cant spawn a transport version of the buhanka even if ur cpl

experiemental has much less people and has the buggier but newer version of reforger. at the moment experiemental has LAVs and brdm-2s

how do you use the feedback tracker to only search for things relating to reforger
when I open https://feedback.bistudio.com/tag/arma_reforger/ and type in the search bar it gives me results for every single project
I would've assumed searching in "Current Application" while on the reforger page would work but that only searches for project names (?)
