created a server on nitrado and followed all the steps. but when I'm in the "Create Game" section in Arma3, and choose to host my own made scenario, it starts to load (the map loading screen is visible in a few seconds) and then it goes back to "create game" section.

Going to start a new antistasi ultimate playthrough, any suggestions for set up? So far I've just done the Stalker mod set on Malden 2035 map (really fun, didnt get that far through but going to restart and give another run a try). I briefly tried the Tanoa map but found the amount of foliage really difficult to traverse through. Open to all suggestions, mods, factions, maps

Arma Finland has this amazing after action tool that I'd love to see released.

Its a server side script that records all movement and all shots fired during a mission, then let's you watch it after. The replay is 2d on an imagine of the map, but you can zoom around, and follow units etc. its also all integrated with their online hosting, so the client can just ask for the replay of any recent missions played.

I just had the most insane ARMA mission of all time

i was playing some dynamic recon ops with my mate on one of the jungle maps

it starts off good

we clear a little radar outpost and find the last dude in a building

sam fucks up a grenade so I have to treat him

and then we go behind the building

by this point the guy runs off

and we lose him this will be important later

then we go back to our base in the jungle and i hear gunfire

turns out the dude went back to our base and ambushed and killed Sam

so after that we go to get supplies as we are running low - and then we hear explosions right next to us

and then explosions erupt all around, we just manage to escape

then we trek through the jungle, all battered and running low on medical supplies

we keep on, at one point a thermite grenade is thrown from behind us and it causes us to fall off a cliff (this is all AI btw, no zeus or anything)

we then walk down a very sketchy road - cliffs on all sides and we swear we see hostiles

finally we get to the Dam

I spot a single guy - he runs behind a hill and I lose sight

then we both realise that we are going to pass out from blood loss - less than 80% Sp02

i try to save Sam but he dies on the Dam, and when all hope is lost i spot a red tractor in the distance

i'm currently limping towards this tractor, with darkness engulfing my peripherals, however i fight on in my little red tractor and finally make it to base camp.

with Sam watching from the heavens I manage to rush to the arsenal just in time to get fluids, I'm finally saf.... BOOM the fucking arsenal explodes

however i miraculously survive, just in time to see 2 more C4 literally right in front of me

genuinely the most insane and immersive ARMA experience i've ever had from start to finish - genuine paranoia without a zeus and only DCO ai

hello everyone, can someone tell me I made a dedicated local server in the arm and after exiting nothing is saved and disappears how to solve this? I would like to make it so that after exiting the server, you can then go in and continue the game and not start everything over again, but it turns out like in the sesion squade.

I like the tropical map since its not like a dozen gigabytes nor does it require any DLC, so my friends can play it, but I cant find ports of Dynamic Recon Ops or Dynamic Combat Ops to the map, which are my usual go-to. I do see some but they require ACE and all I know about ACE is that it's a realism mod which Im not as interested in

How on Earth do I move Antistasi saves from one profile to another, as host? Recently reset my PC but my old Arma profile is gone and I dont like the username of my default one (but my Antistasi save file is synced to that default profile).

To host a server or a game session locally, you need to make sure first that your WAN address / external IP uses the IPv4 protocol!
Check your router’s status page in the settings to confirm. (If in doubt, ask your ISP, Websites like “whatismyip.com” give you a false positive!)
Local servers and games can not be hosted on an IPv6 network, or IPv4 via DSlite tunnel!

Once you have confirmed that your connection uses the IPv4 protocol, you need to manually open / forward the ports 2302-2306 UDP (https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3:_Dedicated_Server#Port_Forwarding)

Well that should work, you or you friend can have a server up (hosted by you or him) but if not visible you need to adjust like Arma bot descriptions.....
Don't forget that Arma3 is over 10 years old now and a lot has changed since than with hosting (see reforger).

hi, i had a funny thing happening to me and some friends on a lan server: so i made a barebones zeus scenario for us (just some spaen points, inf and the zeus modules, proper named). my friends found the server and joined and one of them cant see other players. does anybody knows why this could be happening?

edit: spawned dudes via zeus are working and i could shoot and see him but he wont die. other way around there are only blood particles showing when he hits me (we lined up in a door frame). weird to me.

Try Dynamic Recon Ops. If you do try it, I'd recommend turning off civilians because it's silly how many undercover guerillas are there.

Then if you get familiar with the game, try Antistasi mode. I can recommend Antistasi Ultimate, it works with many other mods.

If you're playing with less than like 6-8 people then I'd suggest getting Plot Armor mod, it makes the deaths much less frustrating, but the threat is still there.

As for QoL mods do grab:
Better Inventory - makes inventory much more convenient by displaying all inventory containers at once
JSRS SOUNDMOD, JSRS SOUNDMOD - Reloading Sounds, Blastcore Edited (standalone version) - those improve audiovisual experience of the game significantly
Arma 3 enhanced tactical ping. - turns the tactical ping (Shift+T) into a very visible white circle
Earplugs - helps with loud vehicles
Arsenal Search - self-explanatory
Enhanced Movement + Enhanced Movement Rework - allows you to climb over and onto anything, should be in the base game tbh
MagRepack - allows you to combine magazines
WHA Nametgs - better friendly visibility
VET_Unflipping - allows you to unflip vehicles

If you get a good hang of the game, it'd be worth trying ace mod, perhaps with ACE No Medical, because the medical system in ace3 is kinda complex. Project injury Reaction (PiR) is a mod worth checking out.

Also always remember about Field Manual (available in Esc menu), it even has a search function.

there is alot you can do with arma 3, it is incredibly sandbox. you will find some scenario or mission you enjoy doing, wether it be public pvp sessions in King of The Hill, singleplayer missions from the workshop, or even something like Antistasi, a multi-week or even month long campaign where you slowly take over a country!

I recall seeing something about having to save it to be able to continue the same mission
It's not because of local hosting, since I did a complete KP liberation Altis playthrough with friends, one of who hosted it through the client for every session

1. is there a mod or something to display unconscious team members to everyone in the team? like a little HUD indicator etc. Because my friends often dont realize when someone went unconscious and we use ACRE2 so there is no voice to tell them.
2. Are there any good public ACRE2 teamspeak servers? The problem is, the default servers have a very low "reduced points per tick" value of 5, which causes ACRE to activate spam protection and mute/kick the player from ts.

Does anyone have any tips on how to not get surrounded? Me and a friend were playing Forgotten Few 2 and we moved towards our objective for 45 minutes going slow and steady, scanning the surroundings, checking all buildings on the way and using vantage points but as soon as we started assaulting the objective we started getting attacked from all sides and ended up getting overwhelmed very quickly. How do I prevent this from happening again? We lost a lot of time there. I'd love to find some sources that help me improve my planning abilities.

For added context, we infiltrated from the southern coast of altis by boat, we were behind enemy lines so that might have been the issue, but is there a way to do that without getting completely overwhelmed?

If someone in your group can host arma, then they can host ts3,
Anyone can host, but it works a bit better if it's on the same network as the Arma server
Computer requirements are low, and bandwidth is fairly low, but depends on how many players you have
I think it will also work on IPv6, so not even as restrictive as Arma 3 hosting

The newer alternative to ShackTac HUD would be DUI Squad Radar. But afaik that does not have a uncon indicator, but it shows you all your group members around you, and if one of them is hanging behind and not moving, they're probably down, and very easy to find

Yeah so after having an evaluation with my buddy we came to the conclusion that we should have done one of these two things differently.

1. We should have brought a supressor
2. We should have assaulted from the north (approaching from no man's land) so we could have cleared our backline before assaulting the objective.

So, in conclusion: From now on we're going to bring suppressors if we decide to infil from behind enemy lines. Looking it up on the wiki confirmed our theory, being that suppressors reduce the range that AI can hear you by a whopping 97%.

If you are outnumbered, my tip from playing escape missions is to constantly be on the move. Clear infront and only suppress the back. Otherwise you will be encircled.

Nevermind, got it to work. UPNP works, just enable Arma through firewall and make sure you turn off all VPN or VLAN apps. Select server type as internet, friends will be able to find you and join.

Port forwarding is probably preferable since you have router access
And I think Arma needs ports 2302-2306 forwarded

Another thing you can try is being online in Steam. I haven't determined if this is placebo effect, but it might be an issue sometimes since Arma 3 uses steam backend

Could anyone help me and my friend? We've been trying to play together for the last few days, we tried Virtual Lan apps like ZeroTier One and Radmin, neither have worked at all
We've tried port forwarding, neither of us succeeded to host a server that the other can see.
My router does not support UPNP, but my friend's does, he also hosted a server with UPNP but it still did not show up after several tries, he uses a VPN but he made ARMA an exception, and also tried hosting a server without the VPN but it still did not work.
We retried the port forwarding multiple times just in case we messed it up, but we made sure it was correct and let everything through the firewall, but no luck
We also both have Battleye disabled
Does anyone have a solution? Is there any other reason it might not be working?

firstly as you know i think if you host it on your own pc directly from the game the game save system (when pressing esc in game) is functional, then i would say that if you play on a dedicated server from your pc or from internet then play custom scenarios that have a proper save system (opex, antistasi, etc...).

but even if you want to save whatever scenario progression, you are able by accessing the save in your folder

in C:\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\youprofile\Saved\steamMPMission

after finding the save from your scenario, copy and paste it into your server file saves in the game root folder (arma 3/Servers/your server)

i did this when i switched to a dedicated server to play with headless client in antistasi with my friends and i was able to get my save in the server, but it should work with any save from any scenario

For starting and running Hearts and Minds it, you MUST have a dedicated server (says so right in the description
I think it's possible to run the server on the same computer (connect using the loopback ip 127.0.0.1)
If you want other people to join, you need to forward ports as well

I think you'd need to install the server separately from Arma 3 game if you want to connect from the same computer as the server

Great, great mod...but over the time got very bugy for around 30% of missions or so, big problems with performance though on my machine it is still playable. I tried to fixed it, but after I looked into the logic behind more in-depth, it would have to be fully redesigned with respect to performant execution. Huge amount of non-optimal coding, all in loops. But really great idea and for what it does - great mode.

If it's a base-game or CDLC gamemode and you don't mind not having mods, you can join an official server, vote yourself admin, and then change the gamemode to the one you want to play. Other people might join.

I don't know about a mod like that but Drongos Command enhanced allows you to command a squad of your own and use arma3 high command to command other troops and units

Combined with Drongo artillery and air ops, you can control an airspace and be a designator/observer for artillery fire

Tell other ai squads to do Seek and Destroy on an objective, or tell them to move into buildings and garrison

Also, pro tip, if you ever want to test multiplayer scripting by yourself you can launch the game multiple times using the exe file and join yourself with multiple players and it will act just like they were other people.

Great tutorial videos called "the art of flight" on YouTube. I advise watching those. Or look for a unit that is willing to tech new recruits to fly ( those are rare ) i watched the vids. Then practiced alot in eden editor. After that ( once I could land well) hopped in games like invade and annex or Mike force or king of the hill. And started flying troops in. Best of luck to u

LibRX manages skills on its own. There is a script inside this folder

scripts/shared/functions/F_setUnitSkill.sqf

...that you would have to understand and modify. Though there are small hints inside as comments. Another place where basic ARMA "setSkill" is used is in:

scripts/server/a3w/scripts/F_createCustomGroup.sqf

You can change things in those two places and adjust the subskill values for OPFOR (enemy). For further questions, please check in LibRX discord.

The alternative is to use some mod that always loops through units and adjusts subskills. I am aware of VCOM doing that. We have in LibRX discord a version I modified to cleanup some bugs. But if you want to use the one from the Steam Workshop, choose only VCOM(dev) version. Everything else is pretty buggy. But I myself have given up VCOM last year. Not using it anymore.

Due to an (unfortunatly) fairly inactive group, a mission we had planned for this Saturday (at 1800 zulu) is woefully undermanned. We're looking for anybody to come play, the only requirement is that you have Task Force Arrowhead Radio (even if you don't have a mic, you need to be able to listen). issue can aswell be, that some else is running an older version of the USAF mod, then you are, that tends to fuck it up aswell, or it is the mission file

Hey guys! Not sure if this is the place to post, but I'm hosting a modded Zeus server based on more realistic gameplay tonight. TvT or CooP depending on what people want to do. My goal is to have something people can hop in and play at any time when they want a more realistic (but casual) experience default arma or zeus servers don't provide, without having to make arrangements or play between events. Mods include: ACE3, DynaSound, CBA, Blastcore, LAxemann's Enhanced Soundscape, and BaBe midTex. Kept them to a minimum so you don't have to download 10+ gigs of files :).

@versed field look at the reaper missions on Steam workshop. Built in revive, cool animations and cut scenes. Virtual arsenal too if you want mods or night stalker to help.

They're usually about an hour, and are pretty challenging without being nuts
