Reception is very mixed... LOTS of noise about the vehicle etc assets not being even quality. (And a bunch of issues I hope get fixed soon.) Comments on the map seem predominantly positive though, hopefully the best terrain yet but we've not seen much of it.

Hello! Is there a way to rotate an object via the way it's facing? I am trying to position an ATGM launcher onto a vehicle and I need to rotate it to be parallel to the floor of the vehicle. When i go to rotate it, the axis are not where I would want them to be. In order to do it, I have to rotate on two of them

Well the floor of the vehicle is angled

since its sitting on a slight slope. I want to put the ATGM launcher onto the vehicle, but I have to rotate it to make up for the slope. The axis to rotate it are in inconvenient places and I can't do it since I have to use 2 axis. Like the axis to rotate it is not in the front of the ATGM launcher, they are by its side sort of . on related subject, I saw a greater than expected boost in framerates at 4K (YAAM) after I upgraded my CPU last week, really pleased. The aim of the upgrade wasn't specifically improved in-game performance but it was a nice bonus.

I generally ignore "content creators" nowadays, but they seem to have too large an influence on game dev - for example, getting things changed in a game because they few don't like it, even if the majority of players do. Also, the spread of misinformation is bizarre... see for example, the belief most people have that DayZ switched to the Enfusion engine (which it did not)

I like to think BI is pretty good about understanding it's market base. I agree that content creators particularly for deep level sandbox games like this are not the greatest. I attempted to work with a few with some the mods I worked on and it usually boils down to wanting influence over your mod for coverage or something like that. IE can I get X custom feature.

Saying that though, I think BI at least thinks about others, yes we toast the Life community a lot here, but it was clear in the BI blogs that when making say Tanoa they thought of all the communites. IE life players, Survival, Milsim, ect.

I think the most Arma moment were I realized A3 really was a improvement was in Warlords. We only had a friendly CAS jet without radar, and there was 2 enemy CAS jets around as well. I bought a AA tank and even though I was out of missile range, I used the radar to guide our jet to intercept.

so uh, i started my server but when i connect to the server the console is just spammed with mission "mission name" read from directory and me the player never actually connects properly, so on my screen in the game i just get a blank grey texture

In the end it depends on what you are interested in.
e.g. the creator DLC's all have a different focus on different settings and eras (GM = Cold War in Germany, CSLA = Cold War in Czech, SOG:PF = Vietnam)
Then there are the normal DLC's Apex is a real good one IMO, Contact as well and the rest are mostly smaller ones which add to the vanilla game. AoW is cool, Laws of War really great and the rest in mostly some extra assets like the names explain themselves

Just make sure to take a little look before you buy and see if the assets (maps, weapons, vehicles etc.) that come with the DLC fit you.

you can try them out for free though meaning you can go into the 3DEN Editor and spawn stuff but will get ads when using the stuff (except for the CDLC's for those you will have to download the compats from the workshop)

Apex is played far and wide, Contact adds lots of stuff people tend to use, not to mention that both add terrains.
SOG is probably the best cDLC (if we take setting and not just quality into consideration).
GM is great but very niche.
