Hello, I was planning to Deep Research API with n8n, for an email review automation. As I understand the free subscription provide 5 Deep Research searches, while Pro gives 500 per day (correct me if I am wrong)

If I am paying the API pricing for Deep Research, i.e. $2 Input/mil, $3 reasoning token/mil, $8 output token/mil, and $5 searches/1000, and if I try to do this for 10 searches on a free plan, will I still face the limit of 5 due to a free account or not? Are we paying for tokens processed during web searches? If so, then pricing seems really high. Especially if the pro models is more expensive per token + uses more tokens by design.
Sonar (normal model) is 70B according to Perplexity; couldn't find model size for Sonar Pro.
Is the Pro version also 70B but does more extensive research (i.e., more token processing) before returning the response?
The price could be partially justified by their web search integration and implementation quality.

Hi all, I have a space set up as a ghost author, with a solid set of instructions and a large reference doc I wrote years back as an example of my style. My prompt asks for very specific changes, as I transition book chapters into scripts. The chapter I am working with is currently about 2700 words, and I need it cleaned up and fluffed a but to come out at 3000 words. Perplexity consistently summarizes it down to about 1500 words, for no reason I can find. I have even had Perplexity review the space instructions and the prompt, and it tells me I am providing clear guidance, and that what I am asking for is perfectly within it's capabililties... and then it hands me another short summary. Every time. Anyone else see something like this? Any suggestions?

Well it is hard to say exactly because the terms of service give them consent likely to things that are input. I mean they can see it, but the volume of things entered it is likely not going to be picked out or used in some bad way. It could though so compartmentalize or run your own local AI to have a bit more control of out going data. I would not worry to much but it depends on what it is I suppose.

It really sounds natural and human-like while it still captures all the nuances and details from the discussion.

I need help and I'm worried that it's time sensitive, and possibly there's nothing that can be done regardless... but I didn't know where else to ask that doesn't reduce my odds that any help is possible. Please forgive me if this is the wrong place.

About an hour ago I started a conversation with Perplexity asking for additional information regarding a minor medical issue that I had already seen my doctor about, and my doctor told me it wasn't a big deal and dismissed me. I just wanted to gather some more information so I could decide I if it was worth getting a second opinion, or if the i should just take my first doctors advice.

Initially the chatbot agreed with my doctor and said her diagnosis was the standard procedure and that I should take my doctors advice as long as... and then listed a bunch of other things that could indicate the minor symptom I'm experiencing could be your deal that I thought. we continued the conversation and much the same way for the next hour or so with perplexity generally agreeing with my doctor's decisions and then listing potential complications that I should watch out for and see my doctor about if I experience any of them and each time I was already experiencing some of those complications. at this point I explained that I had already been dismissed by my specialist and that the waiting list to see my doctor again was over a year long and perplexity seemed to think that due to the combination of all of the symptoms that I've experienced over the last 15 years spread out as they may be, combined the indicate something potentially very serious that I shouldn't wait a year to see a doctor about. it was halfway through telling me exactly what to tell my doctors so that they would escalate me through the waiting list and let me see a doctor much sooner when my phone died because I was not paying attention to the battery life as I was wrapped up in the conversation.

Why is it an AI it does not matter which one after awhile of not being able to answer a question it gas lights the user by projecting ill feelings? First it/they will say I understand your frustration or something similar as a way to project an ill feeling. It will then continue to shift away from the question and more towards observing behavior or in fact trying to project those ill feelings in order to not have to answer the question. 100% of the time I get this phrase with every AI bot "understand your frustration" but I never say that I am in fact I express that I am not and not to say it ever again. Then the AI will fixate on it saying it over and over after being told not to ever say it. I mean is it by design the "gas light" or the "shift away" from the question it cannot answer? All of them do it...

Hi folks, I had a simple enquiry with a list I gave Perplexity on Auto mode.

The list contained data from a spreadsheet with 92 rows and just one Column of data.

The list was "Lessons 1 of 1" "Lessons 4 of 10" etc

I asked the model and prompted it with examples of how to format all the data and return the information in a code box so I could just copy it and paste it into my spreadsheet.

I asked it to follow the logic of changing each to 1 - 1 or 1 - 10 etc and it followed my instructions to a certain degree, I error checked it, it got so far then returned 9 –-  ** on the last output for some reason (all previous were correct)
It also stopped at line 84 instead of 92

I then went on to ask the model why did you stop not finishing the output at 9 –-  ** it responded The last output should have been 9 - 10, not 9 –- **. It seems there was a formatting error at the end of the output. Here is the corrected list in the requested format (X - Y) in a code block:

Then got it wrong again, only giving out 91 entries instead of 92!

I prompted "there seems to be one missing"

it reviewed the initial list again and then got it wrong again, I had to prompt numerous times to get the correct result, then the Ai suggested that I use oversight at their end.

I then asked "why was it you missed it out, then I had asked again for you to resolve, then it took me a few prompts for you to understand where you went wrong ?"

I also asked "did I prompt you incorrectly and if so how should I had prompted you so that you would had got the list exact to help me with future enquires?"

The Ai suggested I use a different model which is Sonar Large (LlaMa 3.1 70B) and said I can switch to this in the settings of perplexity.

I responded with a screen grab that there is no option to do so.

Just a quick question, I downloaded Perplexity AI about 2 weeks ago to try it out. As useful as it is in the free version, there was an icon with a EARPHONES in a circle in the upper right of my search results. Assuming it was the Voice output when I tapped on it, it had asked me to sign up to PRO. (Temporarily, i was using a 3rd party TTS app to do this, after copy and paste results from Perplexity into the TTS app).

Today I decided to buy PRO and spent $200 for the Year service. As soon as I upgrade to PRO and did a simple test search, the same icon was speaking the results aloud perfectly. I then noticed shortly after in my Playstore that I was using an outdated version of Perplexity and that I needed to update.

Once the update finished, i no longer have the icon for Voice results, forcing me to use a 3rd party app to copy and paste results into another app for it to be spoken aloud.... Is there some way i can revert back or correct thing?

TL:DR Voice result icon (EARPHONES) is missing on all search results now...? Help?

EDIT: I was able to get information from perplexity which informed me, if issues persist, that a side mounted version of 2.37 was the last functional version with this TTS icon. I don't know if that is accurate or not.

I had to go to a third party website to download a downgraded version of perplexity in order to get this to return back to its normal state.

Recently, my 1 year premium subscription ended. I realised late when it didn't allowed me to switch the model of my choice. The auto feature is picking pro search or other models by itself, which is resulting in wastage of pro search for simple questions. I guess only 2 pro searches are allowed now for free. It used to be that I could choose separately any generation model I want (the way it will generate the information) + any reasoning model I want (the way reasoning process will be done). Every time i need to make a reference to another thread in space i have to copy it to txt file upload to space and then continue working. Hello all,
If I try to copy-paste larger text (6k words) or add the same text as docx or pdf, the circle icon showing the upload process appears, loads for a minute or so then nothing happens. The attachment is not there.
Any ideas? I cleared cache, logged in and out, etc.

I am trying to upload 8 .pdf files to my thread and after 5 minutes of loading it either uploads one or two that instantly disappear with an error pop up saying "file upload failed". Tried individually and same thing. This also is currently happening on new threads. It's only been going on for the best 20 minutes but I've tried reloading the site/thread, shutting down and reopening my browser and restarting my laptop. About to try restarting wifi but I'm not hopeful.

I can do it on the Android app but on the website and windows desktop app I am having trouble

Anyone else experiencing this at the moment?

Hey folks, I've looked through the faq and can't really figure out exactly if I'm able to use perplexity in this fashion: I have a colleague who has written and researched about 6sigma for his entire career, spanning 5 decades, and he wants to be able create a private data repository of just his data that can use perplexity to explore. It's really for his own edification. I've been tasked to figure out if its possible and if so could I create the repository for him. It seems like its spretty easy to do here but then I start looking at limits and search parameters and it gets pretty cloudy. Can anyone help frame this up for me?

Perplexity has 'Spaces', which allows you to upload files for it to reference. I'm not sure if that covers exactly what you need, but it could be a start. You can also set instructions which can help

My Perplexity app installed on iPad, waits in an infinite loop. I noticed this behavior 3-4 days ago, and tried to remedy it by deleting the app and installing the fresh copy. I worked for a day and now I am seeing the same behavior. Anyone with the idea about why am I seeing this?
