Hey everyone.

I'm a Max subscriber. I've had an ongoing issue where multiple times per session I am shown the upgrade/paywall screen and subsequently treated as a free user, despite my account settings confirming Max subscription is active. Deep Research is the most commonly blocked feature. Labs mode intermittently works in the same session where Deep Research does not, suggesting the entitlement check is inconsistent per-feature rather than a flat auth failure.

Occurs mid-session, not only on fresh load. Affects multiple platforms simultaneously (web + MacOS + iOS). Clearing session / re-logging in temporarily resolves it but the issue recurs within the same day.

Despite Max users supposedly receiving "priority support", it always takes days or weeks to hear back from them, and even when you do, often the problem isn't resolved.
For the money we're paying, it's really not acceptable.

I'm hesitant to leave behind all of my threads, spaces, tasks etc etc, but I'm considering dropping Max and picking up an equivalently priced plan with Claude or ChatGPT.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same issues with Max as I am, and if they got it resolved how long it took and what was the fix?

Also if anyone has given up and switched over to Anthropic or OpenAI, and recommendations and how they've found it in comparison?

Hi, i have this recipe with like 35 ingredients, i have max subscription, i want to fill out a list of compounds in each ingredient that are hard to even find on google/not well researched (lots of trace compounds/things not normally measured in food), but if i tried to run claude opus 4.7 or deep research, it will mess up a lot of the numbers or get confused with many of them, or fill out numbers that dont exist.

My best idea is to run 3 ingredients at a time, but itll take a little bit.

Is there any way to do this agentically? I dont have any computer credits, but im unsure if that would even work. Would appreciate any help!!

Hey everyone! I’m a Pro subscriber and I’ve run into a pretty annoying issue - all models have suddenly stopped being able to read and process YouTube video links. They just say they “don’t have the tools” to do it. This totally used to work — I’ve been using it for about a year with no issues across all models. I tested every Pro model today, and almost all of them failed. Only Nemotron managed to pull the transcript. I even went back to an old thread where YouTube analysis worked perfectly, copied the exact same print with the same link into a new chat — and nothing.

Another thing I’ve been noticing lately, has anyone else felt like Claude Sonnet 4.6 Thinking has gotten… dumber? It feels like it’s no longer actually “thinking” when it should be. Responses come back almost instantly, like a flash model, with little to no extended reasoning. Even on complex queries that clearly require it. The quality of answers seems to have dropped noticeably too. It used to actually work through problems step by step, but now it just jumps straight to a response like it’s in a hurry.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Did something change on the backend with how the thinking budget is being allocated? Are the changes on the Claude's hand or Perplexity's? Would love to know if it’s just me or a wider thing.

Are you perhaps from the UK? I’m located in Sweden and have never seen the pop-up, and I haven’t verified my phone number. I’d believe it might be due to your location ( if you are in the UK ) since the UK and other European countries have been rolling out age verification and other sorts of person identification. But this is just an uneducated guess and it could be completely different.

Hi everyone! I’m a Perplexity Pro user and I have a persistent problem with Claude Sonnet 4.6.

When I start a new thread, select Claude Sonnet 4.6 in the model selector and send a query, the model either doesn’t seem to be used, or the selection silently resets after one message and Sonnet 4.6 is no longer active for the conversation. It looks like my model choice is being ignored or overridden.

My Perplexity Pro subscription is active, I’ve tried creating new threads, logging out and back in, and the issue still persists. I’ve also contacted official support, but so far it hasn’t been resolved.

Environment: Perplexity desktop app and Web (Firefox, latest).

Is Claude Sonnet 4.6 fully available for Pro users right now, and is there a known issue where selecting this model doesn’t stick? Is there any workaround to reliably force Perplexity to use Claude Sonnet 4.6 in a thread?

Hey everyone, I've got perplexity pro, and have tried out exactly one time-and-scope-limited task on Computer, which amounted to going out and crawling the web for historical data and then putting it into a vanilla set of visuals. A month+ later, I get an email saying all (100%) of my compute credits are used up. Sure enough, I go to my perplexity account, and I'm seeing 0 compute credits.

This seems off, but I'm not sure if that's how computer is supposed to work (first use starts a timer on your credits, which expire after a given amount of time?)... hoping someone can help me figure this out

There is a subtle attempt to shutdown the normal perplexity features and move everyone to the token based "computer". Perplexity keep removing features that were normally available, making them available in computer alone. Keep it up.

March 11: charged $100.00 → I intended Pro Annual (Education)
March 12: charged $100.41 → Max Monthly (expired April 12 ✓)

Problem: The AI agent "Sam" claims both charges are Max Monthly. I resorted to opening Perplexity in my phone's browser, mentioning the connector, then continuing from the app

What is the limit for using the "Best Model" feature on the Pro Personal?

Hi! I’m on a Pro Personal plan and today I started experiencing a strange issue with advanced models.

When I manually select Claude Sonnet 4.6 or GPT in the model dropdown, the UI still shows my choice before sending, but the moment I press Enter the model automatically switches to “Best” and the request is processed as “Best” instead of the model I selected.

This was not happening a few minutes earlier in the same session – Claude and GPT were working normally. I did not change any settings or my subscription, and I’m far from heavy usage this week.

Could you please clarify if this is:

• a bug with model selection and automatic fallback to Best,
  or
• a new limitation on Pro Personal that prevents direct use of advanced models (Claude / GPT) and forces Best instead?

If this is an intentional limitation, where is it documented for the Pro Personal plan? If it’s a bug, I’d really appreciate it if you could flag it to the team – right now I effectively can’t use the models I’m paying for.

According to your message, I have 200 Pro queries per week, but right now I’m experiencing the following behaviour:
– When I manually select Claude Sonnet 4.6 or GPT as the model and send a message, the model automatically switches to “Best” at the moment of sending, and the answer is generated as “Best”.
– This happens consistently for every attempt to use an advanced model, even for very short, simple prompts that clearly aren’t “heavy usage”.
– I have not made anywhere near 200 manual Claude / GPT requests this week. Most of my activity was with the “Best” model.

My questions are:

Does the “200 Pro queries/week” limit also include automatic Pro Search classification when I use the “Best” model (i.e. when the system silently treats some “Best” queries as Pro queries)?

Is the current auto‑fallback behaviour (Claude/GPT instantly switching to Best on send) a sign that I’ve hit my weekly Pro query limit — even if I only see “Best” in the UI?

Where can I see an accurate counter of how many Pro queries I’ve used this week, including automatically classified Pro searches?

Right now, it feels like I’m blocked from using advanced models even though I haven’t consciously used anywhere near 200 Pro‑level queries. I’d really appreciate a clear explanation of how queries are counted and why my model selection is being overridden.

Hi, I need assistance from a REAL person, not an AI bot. I am a professional content creator with an audience of 27,500+ subscribers, and I am extremely disappointed with the current support experience.

I subscribed to Perplexity Pro specifically for Claude model access. The service failed technically (model selection was broken). I first contacted support on April 27th, immediately after the glitches started, but your AI agent "Sam" claims I only reached out on the 29th.

In the email thread, your support agent already admitted that my technical issue was a "genuine concern." Despite admitting the service was defective, the AI bot keeps refusing a refund based on a "24-hour window" policy.

I just resubscribed today and I tried using the Computer feature of the perplexity app but then it said I was using/if not had used - all of my credits. According to what I read on perplexity you get 4000 ai credits a month but on the usage/credits tab of the settings it says I have Zero.

4. Right now it feels like I’m paying for “around 200 Pro queries”, but in practice I hit a much lower limit and get forced into “Best only”. I’d really appreciate a transparent explanation of what my real Pro limits are and what changed.

For example, using "https://www.perplexity.ai/rest/rate-limit/all" I can see that I still have "25 Labs" and "195 research pro" but if I use "advanced research" before submitting a query, Perplexity tells me that I have reached the maximum monthly limit and that I have to pay for "computer" credit to get more! This is very opaque, and I wonder if it is even legal to do that from the perplexity part. Before it was possible to see the amount remaiming under each type of query. Not anymore, and the "labs" queries seem to be completely unavailable.

Perplexity's recent actions feel like a complete bait-and-switch. This is not how a legitimate brand treats its users.

Here is the reality of the '1-Year Free Airtel Pro' promo:

1. Broken Promises & Severe Throttling: We were promised generous Pro and Deep Research limits. It went from 600/day, down to a ridiculously low 20 Deep Research per month. Pro searches are also hitting sudden weekly caps.

2. Unfair Quota Burn: Even when we don't ask for it, the system sometimes forces normal Pro searches into Deep Research, burning that tiny 20/month quota in just a few minutes.

3. Forced Credit Card Collection: The most unethical part is making credit card details mandatory midway just to continue a 'free 12-month' promo. It feels like the whole promo was just a trap to harvest card info before locking features behind the $200 Max tier.

I accidentally let my annual Pro subscription auto-renew on April 20th. I missed the cancellation date because I forgot about it, and initially, I didn't even know refunds were possible. Since I thought the charge was final, I used the service a little bit, but I genuinely no longer need it.

I tried emailing support, but I am stuck in an endless loop with "Sam" (the AI agent), who keeps telling me prorated refunds are impossible and refuses to transfer me to a human.

I have already canceled my future auto-renewal. Could a human support agent please look into my account? I am not asking for a full refund for the past month, but I am hoping for a one-time exception: a pro-rated refund for the remaining 11 months (or downgrading my annual plan to a monthly one and refunding the difference).

a question from a new team joining perpexity for business. We had a personal account already paid in february, we wanted to add 3 more into the organization. We have now an invoice for 3 new accounts total 1200 usd, we want to do a month by month not all in full and also what about the other account which was already paid in full, we tried reaching for support since may 14th and no luck just Sam's emails and nothing. we are locked out from our accounts and cannot work it's been a total stop into our internal procecess

When I go to Add custom connector, I only see fields for Name, Description, and MCP server URL. I don’t see any way to enter a local command like npx ..., uvx ..., or a command/args JSON config.

Yeah I got screwed out of 89K credits and the “Sam the AI Idiot” emails me back after everything is cleared out for the month and says he checked my account and I don’t have any credits left. Of course I had cancelled my account. These people suck!!! I HAD “Pro”. Lost two months of work threads.

One reason why this happens, is when math gets split across multiple lines, causing the backend to loose track and instead treat the latex syntax as plaintext. My workaround is requesting to put the math into a ```multiline``` (i mention it like that), and also requesting that, instead of using latex (it's not supported in multiline blocks, but it doesn't know that and needs to be told), Unicode symbols should be used. (because otherwise it won't know what to do and you'll lose the mathematic rendering or whatever it's called. :p)

Why is deep research nuked to only 20 a month? It's the most useful stickiness of perplexity. My number one use case for PPLX was I don't want the default output of the AI model, I want it to confirm with actual sources.

Big fan of PPLX, highly recommend you guys switch back so you don't churn users
