I’m Korean and typically use Korean as my output language.
When I ask questions in English, it searches the web in English, but when I use Korean, it sometimes searches the web in Korean.

Spaces can be a nice way to organise your threads. You don't have to collaborate with others to use it. You can use it as a folder. With a space you can also set a prompt that will be used for each thread in the space.

I am trying out perplexity and so far everything is cool, except one: file upload. I kinda do not understand, what purpose this feature serves? I asked in the thread this, and the answer was "When I say I cannot directly analyze files, I mean that I can't open or process documents like PDFs or Word files to extract information from them". Yet it also said, that I can upload a file for the context or any different task, which kinda presumes Perplexity is capable of opening and analyzing.

So, I am confused... Can you please explain to me, is it able to see what is inside the file, to open it, analyze it? If not, why would I want to upload a file?

I am already running against a limitation. I have PDFs of usually over 100mb (300 pages long or more, often with images).

I was working with output that perplexity gave me into a table, I gave more data, and asked perplexity to provide me a table with 100 or so lines, It didnt work, every time it started over and after 2 or 3 lines it asked for confirmation to proceed, and after confirmation it started over. On it;s own advice i gave it this prompt: Create a complete posting schedule table starting from Monday, October 28, 2024, with exactly 108 posts (one per working day). Use this format for each row:

I’m experiencing an audio issue with Moonlight-qt on my Raspberry Pi 4 running Raspberry OS Bookworm Light. When I start Moonlight manually using the command “moonlight-qt”, I have sound over HDMI. However, when I start it as a service or via crontab, there’s no audio.

Sometimes it takes a while for the space files to be noticed by the LLM after being added. Other times, I find selecting "Space files" instead of "Web + Space" helps. I do this when creating a new thread

Currently, with the free version, Perplexity searches across 6 or 7 websites for the information I request. If you need code that works with math then I recommend having sonnet write the code, and then GPT4o proofread it for mathematic accuracy

That's a bit different. When you have a regular conversation with AI, answers should be fast. Pro search usually involves several steps that take time. So if you want to use Pro search, you can ask using voice input, but that's a different type of interaction.

I see. I think it would still be useful to be able to turn pro on and off for voice mode.

In real life I also don’t mind if the one I am talking to, takes a bit of time to think about a good answer. Same here. I still want to talk but it doesn’t necessarily have to be super quick.

Hi, not sure who can help us with this. We’re looking to use Perplexity AI to request for about 5m times a day, with an average token per prompt to be about 1000. We are currently doing a POC but it kept hitting the rate limits error since the rate limits are only at 50/min. We filled in the form to try to increase our rate limits in the site but has not heard back in awhile. Would anyone have any suggestions or potentially point us to the right person to talk to?

The long text that is not from a file or photo, a maximum of 5000 words if you type in the website but app probably 10000 words

The file cannot read all words while typing can read all words

Hi @slim night - thank you for your prompt response to my query. Your thread was helpful and I did some further digging:

I signed up with my Apple ID, and did not specify any details (it just uses the email on my account, I guess).

Apple ID sign in on the phone seems to make a new account with a new username every time instead of signing in with the same one from my Pro Account. I tested this by deleting the account and signing up again.

I have email privacy enabled, but a fix I worked out was to log in with the ‘email’ from my Perplexity account details.
It’s an awful thing: [e-mail] (it’s not my real one).

The email link was successfully sent, and I could get in like that.
