I'm on the fence on getting Enshrouded and I was wondering what are the pros and cons of the games
Also, I'm fine with lite-survival but I'm not much interesting into crafting tabs / building stuff, is it mandatory or tedious?
Is combat fluid? Or its there but not the main thing

Is exploration fun?

Also, is the game grindy? I don't mind to grind in a way I've to face challenges to get something and die-retry but I don't enjoy farming hours for a specific thing

It takes a bit to learn which crafter crafts what but you can easily check that in game , building isn’t completely mandatory since you can “ take over “ an existing area that has stuff mostly built and just needs some repairs , as for grind and game mechanics you can tweak pretty much all that stuff in the world settings

Use at your own risk though. Mods are not officially supported and if you don’t understand the tool you can absolutely break your game. I do not recommend BC to anyone whos not moderately experienced with running similar systems. Its not beginner friendly at all.

Yeah, they played the game when DEPO was not around, had a great experience, because they had to get equipment themselves or loot, also for building, they had to go out and farm. Now if person knows he has infinite resources/equipment/flame upgrades e.t.c, he wont spend so much time looting and gathering, some will take highest gear and weapons and run through. Even won't finish last part of game knowing that everything is just earnable right away. Obviously so many people just want it easy way with no effort, that is why there are so many arguing against this. They could allow only people who copleted the game to earn such things, it ruins new player experience.

That is very inaccurate. Most people here do not grab things from a resource server until they have unlocked it - which theres nothing wrong with grabbing blocks so you are wasting HOURS harvesting materials to base build. Some of us have builds that have over 1000 hours in them and it would tale actual days of clicking in resource nodes to obtain that volume of materials, which i personally dont find fun or enjoyable or rewarding.

LFG is basically just that. Looking for group adverts and voice chat channel. Half of everybody has their own discord or w/e so they half the time seperate off to their own groups channels once they join a group.

Wait it depends on if you are vibrating on the ladder or just can’t clear the top.

If you have to jump up the last few rungs it’s about placement or clearance but if you get stuck vibrating on it I think it’s a bug.

Honestly me too! I've been holding up on playing it (I bought it on release and played till level 5, very little) for release day but I enter time to time to craft a bit but having to farm the things do the things etc it's tedious when I just wanna build and have fun hahahaha

I recommend playing through to unlock everything on your own and then using a resource file or server to build with endless mats.

Pulling stuff from a resource server before you unlock the item can break certain quest chains (and for me ruins the fun of the discovery and exploring/questing part of the game).

But as someone who has well over 1k hours building im definitely not wasting hours and hours and hours farming mata to build. That would be mind numbing for me.

Well, okay. When you sail your ship around the ocean on the map, the game says things like "Ahoy!" as it acknowledges your instructions.

One of the things it does is yell "Into the shroud!"

from what I know: (may be out-dated)
discovering locations on the map, like towns and things of that nature.. give Experience, so the game will alert those locations to all currently active players and give experience to everyone.
being offline means you aren't there to receive the experience, so you need to go visit the locations yourself to get them on your map, and thus get the experience.
maps are in fact, player/character based not world based.

character progression is saved separately from the world. and can be moved to other worlds.
you can level your character in any world,
a max level character with all skill points and a filled out map, has all of those things even when joining a brand new world

Right I know this process well and they don’t include character info because the focus is on sharing your world never your character.

But I can create multiple worlds and log into each one with the same character and carry stuff that’s in my backpack but none of my quests are done and my map is empty but my skills are still with me. Unless I create a new character for my new game.

your best option is actually to find the "hot-bar swap" you want, I set mine to Z, then put the 2 weapons you want in the same slot on different hot-bars

then you can hit the "swap" weapon button

this is even better if you aren't using ranged weapons as your main, cause then you can have a sword, an axe, and a bow on Q, or a sword, a wand, and staff on Q or whatever

There is no best build except the build that pleases your play style. I found that with hyperactive dagger bae. Some find it with bowmaster, others with wizard. Yeah I dont usually cheat in games during the actual run through, but once I'm done and I wanna keep playing I'm just gonna do stuff that makes the "tedious" parts of the "keep playing" less tedious, which in this case is, maxing out the skilltrees to do whatever I want and dealing more damage etc while I go out for a couple ingredients for my building back home.

I never even tried if the other cheats would actually work, but the software I use to cheat in games (shame on me, I'm "old" and I dont wanna waste my precious time on dying and dying and dying and doing the same thing over and over again) actively disables itself once you start anything multiplayer.

you can lure the enemies in the lowest part into the spikes, causing them to die. the puzzle room is hella annoying, run in, hit a switch, die, repeat until all done. and further up is a water section, you can dive in, hit the switch at the end, drown to respawn at the same level and pick up your gear again

Yeah, for mage, the first 15 levels are best done with wand/shield and maybe the starter spell with the staff.

Best to go down wand part of tree for the wand damage/increase to durability and then go through the magic damage to get increased ice and fire damage, necromancer, and a few points into healer to get water aura.

But play whatever feels more fun for you. There's no set spec you have to do

Your damage increases as you get intellect and of course the spell damage increase from the trees.

If you want to do better with staffs, it's all about mana and mana regen foods, plus spirit increases regen
