Is it possible to load old saves and get the new content or do i need to generate a whole new save? I haven't played since like 2024

Old saves should work. The biggest changes are to new biomes that have made the map bigger. Old areas have mostly small adjustments that shouldn't affect your game too much.

It still might be fun to start a new character though. There are probably cosmetics, weapons, and new points of interest that weren't in the game back then.
