we have never announced this or even hinted at anything like it to be honest

I have no idea why a significant subset of our players seem to think we're aiming for jan 24th save for the fact that it's the anniversary release

like, sure, initially the store page said "we're aiming for a year of EA max"

but that was before the game was met with massive success and we suddenly could afford to be more ambitious

and that one year deadline was a year ago

there are a few challenges we have ahead of us for the full release

the biggest ones are stabilization, optimization (esp memory consumption)

the fun side effect of everything having useless AI shoved in it is that memory is now giga expensive, so our player base is likely going to feel the squeeze and be less inclined to upgrade hardware, which means we gotta work extra hard to make the game run better on low end systems

it's just a matter of waggling the fishing pole back and forth until the fish taps out. Make sure man-made ponds are wide so you have lots of wagglin' room

What the instructions neglected to mention is that you neeed to hold the A-D buttons down as long as possible in each direction. The fish stam goes down in pulses which is wierd.

I have to presume you're lacking enough of the materials on your person/in magic chests because there is nothing indicating to me that this requires unlocking any special wood or gated behind any quests. Apologies I can't give more detail, searching online didn't give me any better results than it did for you, it seems.

Do you have duplicates of one fossil? If it shows 3/3 completed then return to your base and check with the NPC who sent you on the quest. Also try relogging. Also make sure you're not doing the fossil quest for another region.

I had a similar bug on the Kindlewastes version of that quest, and ended up just using a map to go find all 3 pieces again and it progressed for me after that.

some of them can be turned into dishes that give a bunch of different bonuses, perhaps the most interesting in that biome would be the ones that increase underwater time

How often does the game get patches/updates? I was looking through the Steam page, looked like around 2 weeks but wasn't sure if they had like a board or roadmap showing a cadence?

Updates are basically when they complete them and push them out. You’ll see a 2026 roadmap soon ™ they’ll set expectations for what’s happening this year and for the 1.0 release.

A large update increasing the level cap, new zone and water just happened in November. So I assume they’re just now returning to normal working conditions. So last patches and fixes then attention will go towards the next content update.

I’m a French player and I’d like to get some information. I’m planning to open a server for a group of friends, but we don’t all have the same amount of playtime.

Is it possible to have different progression states on the same server? For example, if I unlock a blacksmith, would other players on the server also have it unlocked automatically, or would they need to unlock it themselves?

I’m asking the same question regarding quest progression, map discovery, and exploration: is progression shared across the server, or does each player progress independently?

I was hoping someone with a bit more experience would've jumped in already, but I believe it's both a yes and a no answer.
If one person advances, using the blacksmith example and they place them, everyone will then have access to them. It does some funny things when fellow players are not in sync in terms of progression.

You're all probably better off each having a solo world and the friend world. Then try and stick to just doing progress things together on the server and just doing either solo world or things like building or farming on the server when you all aren't around. The game can be fairly resource demanding at times.

So yes you can benifit from others. But there is an area in the Journal called Missed Quests. You can select a quest and then reset the Map and game to the Progress you have completed. Which means an NPC might not be available, recipe, location etc.

Hello there. New to the game and i am at the point where i want to build a second base, but... i tried it at many different locations and i just can't place down a single altar besides the first one in the beginning area.

I always made sure the area was far enough away from other buildings or ruins of the map as well as from the miasma-fog. I also chose areas, that are as flat as possible. The altar is shown blue but i can't place it down... What do i miss here?

Hi, would anyone know if there’s any mod or way to optimize the game? I always used to get around 80 FPS, but since the update everything has gotten worse and I can’t play smoothly because I’m dropping to 50 FPS. My graphics card is a 3060 12 GB, my processor is an i7-12700F, and I have 32 GB of RAM. I also have the game installed on an M.2.

No mods and as the game is still very much in early access theres been no major “optimization” yet; your best bet is to play with the graphic settings. The last update introduced water which is a pretty substantial GPU suck so its not really a surprise to experience a bit of a drop and is to be expected as they continue to stabilize and improve things.

You can always poke into #troubleshooting though if you are experiencing ongoing issues and see if anyone in there can peek at your game logs and see if anything stands out.

Thanks, it's not really work related per se but rather I'm in need of their input since they designed the Enshrouded engine from scratch and I'm not sure if the project I'm endeavoring to undertake should go the same route or if I should go with Godot instead.

I don't want their code, I want to just get a sense of how they approached it as a ground up effort. And fair enough regarding not be tech side.

I love Enshrouded, but I'm still a Minecraft fan and I've spent the better part of a year trying to get a proper physices engine working int he game with real world fluid dynamics, but the MC Java engine is just way too limited to handle it, and can't do GPU offloading due to OpenGL so my plan is to build a co-engine that takes all of the MC Java graphics side and physics engine side components and offloads it to GPU while still remaining compatible with existing mods. This way I can implement custom physics and create a co-engine that is MC version agnostic and mod agnostic. But the thing is, I don't know if I should go with Godot or do what they did and build my own custom co-engine from scratch to handle voxelization.

And given how well their voxelization engine worked, I was hoping to learn some insights as to how they did it and if it's something I could do for my goal, given my goal is a bit simpler than building an entire game from scratch. So less a "how-to" and more of "hints and tips" sort of response.

Yeah I'm not really sure what the original poster was wanting chest-wise. Like a cloud storage-like feature within the base? I mostly play open world survival/action RPG's and I can't think of any of them that offer something much different than the current chest systems in Enshrouded. And sure maybe people do focus more on building in this game than others but overall shift+R has seemed like a pretty easy way to get through storing things quickly for me. But maybe I'm just used to the way that storage works in games within the same genre.

Regarding this convo, I am also very early in the game and chest/storage organization is pretty easily handled. I made like 6 small magic chests for storing materials, and Shift+R into them after every return trip. Equipment goes into normal chests, and honestly equipment is probably where most of the time goes for storage organization for me. (There's just so much junk, and if you want to keep an even arsenal you have to parse like-items to get rid of the inferiors...)

2 big hints; you can fly across the center of the volcano to avoid the tracking laser, and you can fly on the drafts around the outside of it when he knocks you off.
Also he's Fell, so potions/foods that raise damage against him are helpful.
Stun arrows or lightning attacks to stun are intended as part of the mechanic.

It's very tough and I don't feel shame in cheesing it. Primoris uploaded a full guide on YouTube. Other people have uploaded how to be cheesy. Adjustable difficulty is one of this game's greatest features.

Hey. Wondering if anyone had similar problems. We're running a dedicated server on a local machine 24/7. For some reason chests do not seem to reset even though (according to research) we were way further than 540m away for way longer than 30 min. We had a session 14 hours ago while going AFK 4200m away, NPC in a Goldrock Saddle (Veilwater Basin) as well as chests did not reset after this whole time. Are we missing something?

shut down the server and restart it and see if it is still stuck after another 30 mins.

on dedicated servers, distance + time alone isn’t always enough, a full server restart is often required before chest/npc reset logic works. after restarting, leave the area unloaded for 30+ mins and check again.

It is. We tried that as well yesterday. Weird part that some of the chest in the same area did reset (Chest in a Spire and a chest in a small bandit camp nearby) but not in Goldrock Saddle

I'm not sure if I understand how it work. If it was a singleplayer game with a Coop - they would reset in 30 min. Since it's dedicated server they change the logic to stop doing that?

rule of thumb number one: gather EVERYthing. if you can grab it. do it. at least once. doesnt matter what it is. try diggin into it. smash it. hack it down. whatever you have to do to get ur hands on stuff. grab it.

The depot will have every currently available item afaik, and the server that's run by one of the helpers is reset on the hour. Though they have been known to be plagued by..... the kindest (trolls) people that like to go in and delete everything. As for any other shroud depot, couldn't tell you.
