One tip when you reach the part you have to dive, just swim man, dont hesitate, it's a switch at the end that will refill your air, i got like 1-2 seconds left of air when i reached it

the game is designed for your player to take all their stuff with them if they go to another players world, with this in mind, anyone can obtain late game items at lvl 1 from other players, the game makers surely thought of this, i feel if that was true, that it breaks quest progression, that the game itself would be broken. ive never experienced an issue in the past, but i could be wrong. who knows, thats just my two sense.

I don't know.... I just know it runs pretty darn good for me. It started raining and I Audibly gasped at the sound and effect - it was perfect. (coming from someone who went through the 7Days water addition and has gamedev experience with adding water)

We have to remember, its day 1 of a new update. there will be things... But the artistry and the talent and hardwork that went into making this Water addition deserves some recognition. When was the last time something that was still in development was just perfect out the box.

I had performance issues before with the game, but after moving my game to a NEW SSD (i think my old one was on the fritz) i have had no issues that were not fixed in a patch for the game (like that studdering after the lat update)

Performance work is definitely going to be ongoing. You gotta remember that they're building the engine as well as the game, so they don't get a lot of "free" optimization that utilizing an engine like Unity or Unreal would get.

Indeed, just like pretty much all games each new content update fixes some things and breaks others thus requiring additional Hotfixes shortly after. But that's not what I'm asking about. Game crashing is a more dire situation that usually leads to a "Day 1" Hotfix as in an emergency Hotfix within 12-48 hours of the Content update to fix major issues. That's specifically what I was asking about, if Keen has had any communication in that regard.

npc movement out of the way when building does seem a little better but only when using the hammer and pressing tab and having the area the npc is standing on highlighted. Also,trying to place items like a couch, has no noticeable effect of trying to get the npc to move out of the way. I still like my suggested idead ofadding dialog to all npc to tell them to go to bed and stay there for 5min, auto teleporting them (incase they are stuck) to thier assigned bed

Steam deck is a big priority for us and we keep optimizing for it with every update, and we have a fair number of players that play on steam deck. It's still not quite where we want it to be though. So it depends on how picky your friend is when it comes to performance.

Some areas are abit laggy as ive noticed, and my base with lots of flowers and details and now water runs verry well so there is places where adjustments can be done but otherwise its awesome

I was about half way up Veilwater Basin and my FPS dropped from ~90 to 45 and kept dropping the higher up I got. GPU utilization dropped to about 50% as well.

the Vsync is off and the only way to get anything higher then 60 is lowering the resolution but the image quality gets worse and worse even just lowering to 4551x1280p only gives me around 7-8 fps extra i have to go down to 3840x1080p to get past 70fps and im playing on a: i7-11700k 4.80hz, a AMD RX 9060 XT 16gb vram and 32gb of DDR4 ram

Would you say this latest update includes some substantial improvements to steam deck performance specifically? I ended up putting the game down because of having to finagle settings (even went to using steam link at one point and streaming to the deck, but even that was meh)

playing the game on linux desktop is unplayable with game loading into the menu just fine but loading a save gets stuck in infinite loading screens and if you get in and die you get stuck in infinite loading screens
