Being a console player, I very rarely interact with PC players. The only time I see them is if a game with servers are crossplay or if I'm joining a dedicated server on something like Valheim.

performance is a moving target and the more we add to the game, the trickier things get, like a katamari damacy of problems. As a topic it's a lot more nebulous to say "optimize the game" (what's the target? For which segment of the audience, playing on which hardware, and in which conditions?) than "add this funky little teapot" which is a discrete suggestion with easily measurable results

now having said that, FeatureUpvote is not what we base our development priorities on

it's part of the toolkit

Except not really, while I don't consider it playable personally, even the Steam Deck doesn't drop that much below 30fps with a massive base that takes 8 flame alters, on my desktop with high end hardware, 7900 XTX it rarely drops blow 60fps with all settings at max at 1440p, so no, high end hardware doesn't drop below 30fps when the area is built up.

If optimisation was an issue, it would be the top thing discussed on all channels and all social medias. Look at any games social media to know that, recently Helldivers 2 had it's fair share of the entire community burning the house down due to optimisation and performance issues even despite the develops dropping the hottest update since the launch of the game.

I will say though I do agree that the looting changes for farming weapons sounds awful, it's never a good idea when there's an issue to make a change that makes the issue worse without fixing the core issue. I think the way weapon farming is right is bad and the proposed change should be done, but not till the fix for the core issue ready as all it does is exasperates the already terrible RNG loot problem. I mean I've spent over an hour reload farming to not get what I wanted, with the changes that will turn that hour into what, 12+ hours for the same chance of getting what I want, which is awful

I can't comment on this as I don't know the context of their hardware, how they installed the game, if it's a dedi server or if it's sp world, etc. But the game of Enshrouded is wonderfully optimised as of right now for my syste mand all of my friends systems.

Yeah, the Regen nerf is also terrible, at least for HP, I have no clue where the idea of HP regen being too far came from, at lv 35 with gear it takes me 4 1/2 mins to fully regen, it's simply painfully slow, and with no gear you don't regen at all

We really just said that we're toning down the base regen, we didn't even say too much. People really shouldn't be reading into it too much until they get a chance to see the changes for themselves.

Like we said in the video, while the base regen values have been toned down, we've also had significant reworks to the existing item progression, and a lot more items have regen stats you can build towards now. These changes are less to punish players, and more to make itemization more important and give players more choice in how they build their character.

Does anyone have knowledge on how to make a player hosted server a dedicated server without losing our world/base progress? we have gotten more of our friends into playing and it's starting to show through lag spikes through the player hosted. any help or guidance here would be amazing

We are using Gportal. In the file manager (the folder structure of the server) you will see a folder called "savegame". That's where we uploaded the world we wanted to host. Keep in mind there's only one world per server (just in case you weren't aware).

and we just copy the file over to the server and everything will stay the same

The server will have the current state of the world when uploaded and continue to save there. It would create backups as set by the admin(s) of the server and you can download those files at your leisure. So if you change your mind, you can download the latest world save and keep playing it as you are now.

While I don't know how many people y'all are hosting nor the specs of the PCs/connections, you can always see if someone else hosting it works as well. Unless wanting to have the world accessible 24/7 is also a major consideration.

If having it accessible at all times is not a need or want, then I would just try having someone else host it.

At the beginning I just went there to do the specific missions or walk through. As I leveled the altars I felt more comfortable staying longer.

Later on, if there's an area I wanted to check, I would go directly to it as well. Depending on your build and point allocation, there's at least one skill that gives you seconds per kill.

Also tends to ping a bunch of POIs on your map, so you get a good idea of what direction to glide in in the first place

Nah, equipped arrow is equipped arrow. More than one bow on your hotbar, however, does work.

Hmm, it should be level 2 flame for that quest. If you can abandon doing the missed quest, just leave a ping on the forge location so you can still get it on your map.

XP is easier to get from actual activities, and the main "reward" is getting a forge and lair on your map.

This is why custom difficulty is the best thing games can have. I turn those timers and growth times as low as they can go, increase combat difficulty, and spend more time enjoying what I wanna do... which is playing the game and not waiting around.

There's no maintenance. They aren't server based and patches come out at the game time for everyone. The game runs entirely on your own system and shaders are compiled on your own system.

Being evasive and blaming the devs first, isn't necessarily a good route to take. If for the broad masses the game runs flawlessly and not for you, the problem isn't the devs.
Also doesn't help to say they need to fix their game when you don't come across what the issue is besides blurry textures.
Troubleshooting would be the first step, then do what they ask you to do - else, you can wait a loooong time for a "fix".
